I've set this to add up the total of all the purchase prices and sold prices. You do this by clicking where the zeros are and the clicking the funky looking E in the menu. Choose "SUM" and then select the cells you want to add up and finally, click enter.

When you buy a new item, add it and the price you paid. At the end of each month, copy all the cells in this spreadsheet by clicking the corner cell above the number 1 on the left to select all cells and then right click and copy.
23
Then you can paste everything to a new sheet and delete the items that sold last month. To create a new sheet, click the plus button on the bottom left of this page. I create a new sheet each month and right click the name of the sheet to change the name to the current month.

You can also add your business expenses to this sheet each month so you can easily track that for tax purposes.

If you use Easy Auctions Tracker, you don't really need to track the shipping info. I just do this because I want to for some reason.
