FlySky/Turnigy IA6$55https://www.amazon.com/GoolRC-Flysky-Transmitter-Helicopter-Receiver/dp/B00VE3PZ3Y/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ia6&qid=1595333612&sr=8-3Cheap yet well reviewed 6 channel radio. No frills, more radio than most boats need and expandable to 10ch with a firmware update. Also not so expensive to be a serious loss if dropped in the pond. Easy to convert 1 side to buttons for fast pew pew action. Cons: Requires AA batteries.

Venom Duo$109*
https://www.amainhobbies.com/venom-power-pro-duo-ac-dc-battery-charger-6s-7a-80w-vnr0685/p468689?gclid=Cj0KCQjwpNr4BRDYARIsAADIx9yr8cmypVE0a2ExlezL-nwcqECaSKXtrlVAKWfQc4nbMpe51OLOQFUaAv1cEALw_wcB
At $110 the Venom Pro Duo is a great package. Most dual-channel chargers share 1 power supply, limiting your charging current when using all banks. With the Pro Duo each bank has it's own power supply, essentially creating 2 isolated chargers in 1 package. Can be bought at US vendors, no dealing with China for warranty issues.I personally use this

Imax B6 (DC ONLY)$28
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/imax-b6-50w-5a-charger-discharger-1-6-cells-genuine.html
At $28 the Imax B6 is a trusted workhorse. It is DC only meaning you will need a designated AC->DC power supply for home charging. Old PC power supplies work well for this, or you can buy a power supply with the charger from Hobbyking. Multiple chargers can run on 1 PSU if it is powerful enough.

Imax B6AC-DC CLONE$25
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/imax-b6-ac-dc-charger-5a-50w-with-us-plug-copy.html?queryID=9c569b06e558873d8b3f47965dce9563&objectID=53605&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products_hbk_price_stock_2_group_0_asc
For $25 this charger is a tempting offer for a first charger. Well reviewed on hobbyking, I would not be afraid to buy one of these. This is an ac/dc charger meaning it plugs right into your wall outlet. Be warned this is a clone of the genuine IMAX B6ACDC, see the legit charger below.

This charger is almost double the price of the chinese clone version, but you are paying for the brand and the potential quality improvement. Do your own research and compare before buying.

This choice is highly dependent on you, your design voltage choice (7.4v vs 11.1v vs something else?), and your budget. I personally use Zippy 3S1P 11.1v 8000mah packs in every ship. I would suggest buying batteries of at least 5000mah capacity and standardizing on one design and one connector. For different ships, use more or less of that standard battery.

11.1v Option:

Turnigy 3S1P 11.1v 5000mah XT60https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-5000mah-3s-20c-lipo-pack-xt-90.html?queryID=21098a8902ce26b5cee94120bbcc198e&objectID=69450&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products_hbk_price_stock_2_group_0_ascOnly really budget-friendly 11.1v option currently. Hobbyking regularly has sales, shop smartly.

GoldBat 3S 11.1v 5200mah XT 60$24https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KVVZG1Q?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_detailsCurrently THE best buy on the market for an 11.1v lipo battery for our hobby. They're nice packs, great price, and seem to be higher quality cells than Turnigy/Hobbyking.I personally use this

7.4v Option:

Turnigy 2S1P 7.4v 5000mah XT90

You can find something a little cheaper than this ($17 vs 19) but this pack comes with the XT90 connector.

LiFEPO4 Options:
33
LiFEPO4 Cylinder Cells$25+
https://www.batteryspace.com/LiFePO4-Cylindrical-Single-Cells.aspx
I don't personally use these but many captains do. LiFE cells are a different chemistry from LiPO so their individual cell voltage is less. A 3S LiFE battery is 9.9v vs 11.1v for LiPO. LiFE batteries are more stable than LiPO, will take more abuse, but generally have worse (lower) discharge rates. There are some high-discharge cylinder cells starting to enter the market, but I have not been able to find a link to share. Once again, pick one battery type and standardize all of your ships if possible.

Hobbywing 1080$45https://www.amazon.com/Hobbywing-Electronic-Controller-Waterproof-XT60-Plug/dp/B07GV7WBY4All of the greatness of the 1060 but with an 80a capacity. You don't need this controller for 99% of boats, but if for some reason you are pulling more than 60a you can get this one. Used very frequently in RC rock crawlers with high-torque brushed motors.

Hobbyking Metal Gear Waterproof Servo$9.88
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyking-hk15328d-standard-hi-torque-waterproof-mg-bb-digital-servo-14-8kg-0-23sec-61g.html
I have personally been using these servos for 5 years and have only had 1 fail. They supply sufficient torque for even large class 6 rudders and are waterproof. The waterproof statement may mean highly water resistant, but for $10 buy 4 of them for spares and you still will not spend what 1 "water resistant" Traxxas servo costs.I personally use this

MG90S$20/4 packhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFK266B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1These servos are NOT WATERPROOF. However, they are cheap. If you buy these, follow a detailed waterproofing guide like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSKlw3ZUEwU *** NOTE: I would not use olive oil. Mineral oil is non-conductive and won't decay over time.
