Rubbish left in the street, over grown hedges, groups of youths hanging around & being intimidating.

They is a lot of cars parked on the pavement which makes it impossible if you're in a wheelchair or pushing a pram.

We have a dog & walk on to the park which is very good but if I walk around the streets it's difficult with the parked cars over grown hedges & bins & rubbish left in the street.

Once again the park is good the playing field where they hold football games & the dog club use is good but I would not use the 1 off Walpole Road youths on bikes & quad bikes & hanging around smoking weed & drinking do not feel safe.

Good shops on dryclough Road, gp down on park Road but a good bus service during the day no place to meet friends or eat

We are in one of the bungalows at the top i'v lived here 14 years nothing has been updated in that time, council cut the grass but only cut the hedge twice a year & we can't see when the kids are hanging around

Walpole has a bad reputation & when I tell people I live here they always say they wouldn't live there I didn't get a choice when I was desperate 14 years ago

No I do not feel safe in the time i'v lived here I have a van drive into my garden, a car roll into my garden which I heard was a crash for cash, they has been police with guns a number of times the shop on by me has had his window broken a number of times & kids just hang around out side my gate.

Has I said before I have had nothing done to my bungalow in 14 years but I do see the house down Walpole seam to get a lot done council just seam to miss mine no37 & next doors out because our address is dryclough rd

To sort out the youths hanging around find them somewhere to go & do & sort out all the fly tipping & the rubbish

Too many cars on pavements, no consideration given to pedestrians, too much large bulky litter items on the pavements, overgrown trees and shrubs. large groups of intimidating people gathering at every corner. Fouling, dog and cat poo everywhere. dogs not kept on leash or in secured garden, always on the loose. these could be dangerous dogs.

I rely on public transport, bus fares have increased dramatically, worse than the increase is the fact that the busses constantly miss, or are very very late. during term time on school routes busses get stuck for up to 30 minutes, which is ridiculous for people who need to get to work. Taxis are reluctant to come up this way unless you pay them first due to the bad reputation of the area.

Absolutely not! no consideration is given to pedestrians, people park however, where every they want, pavements and roads. i have seen family members abused for parking outside my house to pick me up just because a neighbour thinks he owns the road and only he deserves to park there. people who do not live on my road also use it as a car park, there is no considerations given to other especially the actual residents!

The area is not attractive at all, any work done in the past have been purely cosmetic and short term, for example the benches at the end of the groves have only created a gathering area for bad characters to conduct their business. The seating area in 'green' on Gilbert Grove and Thackary Grove also only created an area for youths/yobs from other areas to congregate, these areas have been vandalised and not up keep has been done - cutting the grass in the summer is the only maintenance! most gardens in the area are overgrown, there is large bulky waste in almost every garden! outside of the houses/buildings have not had any work done to them in years! everything is outdated and old, there is no maintenance of the area or the buildings. everything looks like a typical really run down council estate - this should not be the case, we work, pay our taxes and claim no benefits, it would be nice to live somewhere that is aesthetically pleasing and not embarrassing to look at. The derelict building at the end of Gilbert Grove is an eyesore and a hazard, a danger to young lives! i know this is not owned by the Council, however it is in an Area which belongs to Kirklees, something needs to be done about this before someone is seriously hurt!

What natural space? the 2 areas i mentioned in my last comment (Gilbert and Thackary) is a mess, glass everywhere and areas vandalised! the field just off walpole (access from dryclough road as well) is infested with rats, - as are all the roads leading of walpole , but the i can't even go for walk across that field as its used by people to let their dogs loose, dogs running wild and fouling everywhere!

Any play and recreation areas are not fit for purpose, not safe for young children, all vandalised, litter and glass everywhere, not safe, only used for bad behaviour

So much room for improvement! only 2 shops in the area, no room or nice areas to meet friends there is nothing for the residents.

I work full time as do my family members! however the majority of people who live on my road do not have access to work. more needs to be done to get these young people into work, most of these people have no health issues, there kids are school age and they could work term time or part time, but choose not to.

no they do not, a lot work is required to modernise the housing, it is old and dated, no real investment made in at least 15 years.

this place has got such a bad reputation! its embarrassing to say i live here, taxis are afraid, takeaway delivery drivers are afraid. it has a very negative image.

no i do not feel safe, my elderly relatives and young relatives/children do not feel safe - they do not leave the house unless for work or school - when the days are shorter and it gets dark earlier, they are afraid to even walk from the bus stop due to the lack of street lighting

i do not feel like i can take part, i have never been asked for my opinion/thoughts on the area, decisions are taken to invest in other areas of kirklees but Walpole is left to rot.

Estate maintenance officers carrying out repairs an Area manager who actually cares about the area looks like policing School need to have more involvement - a lot of the young people are students at the local schools, this impacts on the school reputation Financial investment in maintaining the properties Policing of dangerous dogs The drug dealers need to be removed from the area - they are involving your kids in their business as 'look out' i have witness kids as young as 9/10 years old acting as informants when police are in the area. So much more, i should not have to tell you what needs improving, it is obvious to anyone who has eyes. The area has been used as dumping ground, no consideration is given to the kind of people who are housed in the area.

One bus a hour that doesn’t always turn up. Which makes shopping for the elderly difficult.

Where do I begin. Some people don’t take pride in their property. Some think it’s acceptable to dump rubbish where they like. Also the old club at the end of Gilbert Grove needs tearing down, it’s become a dangerous dumping ground.

Definitely not enough for the children to do. There are more children than before but they just end up playing in the street. Bring back the youth clubs.

A lot of people who want to work do work. We need more encouragement to get people back to work.

The council could do better. Repairs are slow, and for those who are not computer literate it can be difficult.

I have lived here for nearly 40 years. I enjoy where I live but it has changed so much. I feel safe in my area, there is a big mix of nationalities who on the whole seem to get along. It’s just the few people who let the area down.

I feel safe in my area. I can understand why some people don’t. Especially if you are new to the area.

Paths littered with fly tipping cars parked on foot paths especially at road junction in general the whole estate looks very shabby and unkept

It looks like a 3rd world area it is far too dangerous to walk the estate on a evening/night

If you lived on the estate only people you could meet regularly are the drug dealers it is not safe to walk round the estate

People don’t view this place positively the whole estate is a disgrace people responsible for the estate should hang their head in shame BUT THEY WONT

The local authorities do not care I would like to see a local councillor or someone from Kirklees com and speak to us but that won’t happen

narrow road soo cars have to park partly on pavements or they will be damaged by buses and lorries going up and down. many trees also on the pavements which are poorly pruned. sometimes impossible to get past without walking onto the road. kids cannot play or cycle in the area as certain car and van drivers use the main road, and indeed, the groves as a motorway.

especially at school times the roads are jammed with traffic for school drop offs. most could and should probably walk but don't. The drivers have little or no regard for residents

I have lived here for over 20 years and often feel like I don't belong so god knows how newer residents feel.

nobody feels safe around here and with reason. Police do patrol the area, but fail to act on large gatherings and gangs of youths running amok

myself and some other residents have been trying in vain for months to set up an estate TA but having made several calls to the council, have had no acknowledgement from them. Very poor response times from the council.

Definitely don’t feel safe around here with the amount of young boys that are involved in gang crime. Most of them live on walpole. Shocking the amount of times I’ve seen police on the road or the “gang” parked up smoking drugs creating a scene and making loads of noise. I want out this area.

There is a lot of cars parked on Walpole (both sides) and sometimes there isnt emough space to park our cars outside.

Walpole Road is bery dirty, there is a lot of rubbish flying around, bin bags left alone on the sides. The gardens are not kept in a good condition- there are a lot of old furniture pieces in some people's gardens as well as lots of rubbish. Overall it's not an attractive area.

There is a lovely field behind Walpole Road which is great- there is just one thing worth mentioning- There are a lot of youths riding motor crossses really fast and loud. The gate to the field isn't properly protected and it's dangerous as the could run over kids or pets while riding so carelessly

There are no places like that around Walpole Road- there should be more cafes, libraries, restaurants nearby.

No- Walpole Road is known for having a bad reputation. There have been several shootings on the road in the past few years and we don't feel safe walking around the road

No if I let my child out to play he would probably get involved in the gangs/violence/crimes

The local council don’t care about the community and there is a constant police presence and local stigma placed on everyone living on Walpole. Police pre judge the youth living in the area and constantly harass the young people. There is nothing for the people in the area and no where for the children to go to get them off the streets. The council has failed this area.

Looks very run down. Dirty. The little bits of greenery are used for dogs to relieve themselves. Tipping on the corners and streets. Awfull unsightly area

Waste of money. Threw 2 tree trunks and logs down and called it a park. (Gilbert) could have been used as a closed football court

Something for the children to do. Support for them. Less gang fear. More patrols to stop such young kids getting groomed into drugs, weapons and thugery

It doesn’t have a positive identity because of the crime, the nuisance that occurs around the area

The Mohammed Ali Centre on Gilbert has been badly damaged by fire yet the building is still there. Its a very unstable building where kids go and play and hang around. The gates are broken so it is easy to gain access to. Police have been called a few times to come and take a look at it, look for suspicious behaviour . They do a walk round or just take a quick glance, then leave.

No matter the residents say nothing seems to change unless it is mentioned in the papers like the examiner. Like this “ask walpole” it seems like a coincidence that once residents stared talking to the examiner about the incidents that have been happening the council seem to care. But the main thing is the follow through with ACTUALLY making a change rather than just listening and leaving.

Fill in the potholes Put in cameras for speeding vehicles Use the empty spaces like the family centre to get kids involved so they don’t end up getting into crime

I have lived here since 1981.

I find the pavements are broken and as an old lady this increases my risks of falling. My grandchildren are unable to use the pavements or roads to cycle.

We have had the regular bus service for many years, though times and routes have decreased over the years. The buses are not easy to board.

Parking is limited and people are possessive of their parking spaces around my Grove.

The area looks and feels glum. You can get from one place to another, but I do not feel safe at times.

There is lots of room for improvement to make the area safer and more accessible to live.

There used to be activities and groups going on. Most of this is now stopped or aimed at younger people.

There are a lot of families who have lived here for generations. The family homes meet the needs of large families, but not small (4 or less).

The open communal areas are not suitable for my generation and the family centres do not provide enough activities. The Sure Start centre has closed.

Having lived here for 40 years I am well known. As I get older the children can be rude and steal my mop etc. I have been nearly knocked over many times. I do feel safe in some ways, but not in others.

The areas are cared for by the council, but all homes can differ by the effort of the occupants.

I want to see more effort by occupants to want to make the area safer for all. The children to actually want to better themselves and for crime to be reduced on the estate.

More inspirational activities for children (youth centres), more educational opportunities for adults (parenting classes, skills courses) and more police presence.

Pepole should know and not fear us

Pot holes are a big problem even for kids bikes the wheels get stuck and children get injured

Its good but tje busses dont come in time as it says they should come every 10 mins

As i said where like a pack of wolfs we help one another ni mater what but if pepole tresspass we will do somthing about it

Family has died and some strange pepole come down and try look at the houses that can in danger kids or influence them in a bad way because tjey are somtimes rude

We have eachothers back mostly and theres a lot of places to go if on danger its like a neighborhood watch

Theres a 'gang' but there not that bad they are misunderstood like the streets pepole are scared of here where there is no real reson to fear us unless you get on our bad sides ofc

To raise the profile that something needs to be done to support the youth of the area due to them causing a disturbance with neighbouring streets.

There is nothing here apart from a green field that get cuts ever so often and a goal post in the middle of the area with no lines to create a football style pitch. There is nothing for the young people to do a great opportunity to build a youth club and have a service here . The area does not feel safe with children and adults with aggressive dogs not muzzled and can be very intimidating to the older citizens in the area or those who have smaller dogs. There is a lack of police presence in the area that is known for crime and drugs

apart from the field that only gets cut there is nothing that creates this space- there could be opportunity for herb gardens or landscape a piazza a meeting space for the community to come together

I moved to the area not knowing anything about it and its disappointing that there is only a co-op and a couple of eateries that are not very nice. New housing developments are being built on the St.Lukes hospital site - Im surprised there is not a tesco or Sainsbury here. Mind you as the co-op now have their blocks of cheese in security boxes because of high theft its no wonder there is no other supermarkets here ???

There appears to be a lot of young families and children who form gangs and there has been drug dealing openly on the road I live on and drop offs and collections made with cars zooming up and down the road non stop and even cash being put through letterboxes . Again if there was more of a police presence here and infrastructure to change residents behaviour this place could be transformed

Not at all - I have been targeted as a gay man with slurs from residents so safety is an issue for me

No NO NO NO NO not at all there is an allyway which is poorly lit and a slippery floor to access to the shops and transport links but people have been mugged and attacked there so no its not safe

Visibility of the police to tackle crime Investment in the area Community action groups to support cohesion Development of a youth centre to be a place to get the youth out of crime and a place to play and learn. Meeting place for the community to come together - piazza seating place wild garden ??? Investment by having a variety of shops cafes

Community consultation to improve walpole

There are no cycle routes in and around Walpole. Walpole isn't an attractive nor safe place walk

The speed bumps on wlapole have never made a difference to speeding on Walpole by the youth driving motorbikes cars and quad bikes and e scooters and what not The parking in Walpole isn't too bad but when's it school time it's mad cos there's way too much traffic like the roads are locked in and out of Walpole sometimes. Definitely the new school made it worse. Need to do something about traffic on dryclough, moorend and Walpole road at school times

Walpole is absolutely trashed. It's like proper run down now. The centre at the middle of Walpole gss been empty and youths are always hanging out being anti social behaviour. They've torched the park, the gate to the park and vandalised and broken stuff likethe steps, the metal fences and other things. No other buildings on Walpole apart from houses. The street ends on Walpole have a lot of fly tipping. There a lot of fly tipping generally up and down Walpole and even in fields. Seen rats run from street to street on Walpole The lower footpath on Walpole isn't cleaned by Kirklees during autumn when leaves fall and pile up. This makes the path to school for so many so slippery and dangerous. The lower path on Walpole should get cleaned. It's not just not attractive but dangerous for disabled people and childre

There too many people burning God knows what on walpole. I have asthma and struggle to breathe sitting in my living room with a window open when someone's got a fire on. It's toxic at best. There's nothing nice like a green space on Walpole cos the fields are filled with motorbikes and half of it you can't even walk in cos the grass is bigger than me! Need proper green space that gets looked after properly. Making sure motorbikes, quadbikes can't get there.

There's nothing for adults to enjoy on Walpole. Some outdoor exercise setups would be really good most people on Walpole can't afford gym or stuff at home. So for th grown ups to have something like that here would be great. For the kids the park in Walpole fields is not good enough cos dogs are in there eating away, and pooing on the slide and also arson attacks on the swing and benches

We've got schools and that's it. There's a shop on Walpole which is almost always empty and then top shop is ok but mad crazy during school kick out time till about 5pm it's busy during school days. Got no other nice places. A library or community centre would be nice for clases for all ages and stuff for all. Loads of kids in summer holidays just hanging on street corners chilling with drug dealers which isn not good

There aren't placed local to Huddersfield that have job opportunities or learning opportunities. This is an issue for so many adults on Walpole we want tobetter ourselves to get into worm but there's nothing for us to get that first it of step up. Need more work opportunities here and quick cos there's loads of youths in this area who are gonna turn to the drug dealers when they do don't go college or work

No they don't. Too less houses for a start. Need bigger houses like 5 and 6 bedroom even. So many families I know on Walpole are living in such a small space. Likefnailies of 7/8 in 2 and 3 bedroom houses. That's just bad. How can you enjoy life liekthat. I myself have been bidding for. Anumber of years for a bigger house and need it cos my family free after I moved here. its hard now cos kids are getting bigger and need their own space.

We've got the park but I wouldnt meet a friend in there it's got motorbikes and loose dogs. We should have a cafe and a space with some pub benches to meet friends and socialize.

Say no cos I don't. It's just that there's so much and stuff happening on Walpole like the drug delaers and guns being found here and used on Walpole. All the youths and the younger children that shout verbal abuse at people and just absolutely horrible people it's just ruining the place. I know from friends that it weren't this bad some years ago. Certain people on Walpole need moving on to clear it up a bit. There's just too much going on that's soo negative it just makes me feel a little crap about being from here. I want a better life for me kids but can't give it to them. I'm worried they'll end up like that too. Walpole has such negative press wouldn't tell people I'm from here.

I've seen people carry machetes in Walpole and told police about it but I see the people who carried them nearly everyday. Not seeing justice happen and not seeing bad people being locked up and punished does not make me feel safe. These people are abusive, racists, and just horrid to kids and everyone. They've smashed my car. They drive like they own the road and like it's jus their life they're putting on the line when driving crazily.

The council do repairs to houses but I think the houses are like really old and do not modernising a little. My kitchen is really old as the cupboards are rotting now. Nearly everyone in my row has rats but nothing happens to stop this. The centre on Walpole isn't looked after as it's been closed for years. The park and field aren't maintained cos tej grass doenst get cut on time. The bottom field need grass cutting too. Theres so much space there that kids be playing with

Don't think littl people like us have that power. But hey ho. I'm filling this in cos I've had enough of wlapole being an absolute giant turd. Dont want that for me kids. They should do more events and community work to make people of Walpole feel like first that there is something they can do to improve it and then make sure it's safe for them to speak to people about change and improve. When they had the stall on at the centre for this I wanted to go but the youths were watching everyone who was going and I heard them discuss what people were saying to Kirklees workers. It made feel scared to go there and even speak to them. So I'm doing it online. There's gonna be more people like me. That's the power and influence the youths have over residents of Walpole. Everyone lives in fear. Cos there's too many of them.

Sorting out the anti social youths on Walpole that are hanging out and causing absolute mayhem in anyway they can find. Sort out houses in Walpole cos they're too old and knackered. Need modernising, other areas have had new kitchens and bathrooms. Walpole should get something too. Make use of the centre on Walpole and the fields to create a community centre or something that is for all ages. Cos there's a range of people on Walpole. Some courses at the centre or other stuff and then in fields can have a decent park and some nice benches.

Need discreet police work happening on walpole so youths get caught in the act. They're very quick to dispose of evidence bad themselves when the police turn up. Also I want to report stuff and feel like when something happens I don't want to be talking to police on the door cos there's always someone watching who talks to the police and I was a victim of this. The police should post stuff through letterboxes and let people get in Touch with them. Kirklees should do something about the antisocial behaviour. Kirklees council needs to deliver on its promise to do up houses on Walpole. We need to be prioritized too. To make the community centre and facilities in the Walpole fields money needs to be granted to Walpole and invested in us.

It’s difficult to walk using prams because so many people park on pavements - this is all around croslandmoor not just Walpole. Also taking the children on their bikes is awful because you get shouted at by people /groups of them and parking is horrendous.

It’s cheaper to take the car than drive. We would use public transport more if it were cheaper

Crossing the roads on a school run in so dangerous. I have to leave my children at one side while I step into the road in order to cross. Their is no zebra crossing or lollipop lady near Walpole and children are often nearly getting hit by cars. Parking is dangerous and drivers do not look before pulling in or out. I have seen two small children get knocked down through no fault of their own and had to go to hospital. Something needs to be done. 3 nurseries- 3 big schools and two lollipop ladies at the wrong end of the street- of which one is absent a lot. It was badly planned and from 8.20-8.50am and 2.30-3.20 the roads are so so dangerous.

My teenage daughter and her friends have nothing at all to do around here other than go for walks.

It is becoming overrun with gangs of children who make going out for walks awful. I do not like going out after dark.

Children screaming and shouting at all hours. People throwing eggs at our house for no reason. The gate was taken down off dryclough field and now motorbikes are constantly speeding up and down on it and the roads. It has become an awful place to live

Just go and look around. The council are trying but the people don’t care and dump their rubbish graffiti and home owners set fires at all times during the day.

Double yellow lines on Dryclough road or more zebra crossings pedestrian crossings /lollipop people. A gate put back up on field entrance to stop bikes from going on. More policing to stop gangs from meeting up and causing trouble or cameras placed up to make people feel more secure. Hefty fines to people found fly tipping.

Most pavements are in disrepair and people park there cars very dangerously especially around the top of walpole and dryclough at school and mosque times

The buses on balmoral and dryclough are quite often but are always late or early. Walpole bus is very limited to 1 a hour

Parking at school times on dryclough especially are ridiculous and very dangerous. There are no safe crossing points I.e zebra crossings or lolly pop ladys. Around the post office at the end of dryclough people park right on the corners. People speed all around crosland moor. There are no speed cameras or speed bumps anywhere.

The green areas are not maintained hardly. Apart from the grass cutting every now and then. There is rubbish everywhere. I would love to see more planting of native flowers and shrubs and a community garden or allotment would be great for all the residents.

We are lucky to have beamount park very close by. Unfortunately around dryclough, balmoral and walpole the green areas are not very appealing and not maintained.

The park on the field behind walpole is falling in bits and is dangerous. The residents and children would greatly benefit from nicer places to sit/play and get together

Oak primary school really needs investment and we have noticed that most parents are desperately trying to move their children to beamount as oak is falling very behind other schools. I feel our area lacks community centres, libraries and places people can get together as part of a community. Children and the elderly do not have much to do close by.

I feel alot of people struggle to find work especially since huddersfield town centre has gone down hill drastically with shops closing everywhere and business not been able to afford extortionate rents and business rates

I feel I belong in crosland moor as I have always lived here. Unfortunately walpole let's the area down with anti social behaviour, drugs, theft and fights happening all the time. This needs addressing asap before it gets any worse

I feel safe in my home as I have security cameras and always lock my doors. I would not let my children walk down walpole alone though ever. There are gangs hanging around and make you feel very uncomfortable

Walpole is a mess. There is rubbish everywhere. Most people do not maintain there gardens and gen6have no respect for the street they live on. Surrounding streets are much better but litter and dog excrement is a big problem

I feel there should be regular meetings where the community can discuss what is needed with the council and put into action. We do not feel like we are listened too or that the funding is not available to help make a better environment

Anti social behaviour, littering, community places to meet, parking on dryclough and dangerous speeds from cars.

More police patrols on walpole. Speed cameras and crossings on our roads. More bins and more regular litter collection. A community centre and better play area. A voluntary group to plant trees, shrubs and flowers around the area with funding.

I live on walpole and would like to give feedback to the council.

It's not very good for bikes as the street is very narrow and full of cars. There are also lots of dodgy looking people that smoke and mess around making it unsafe.

The bus doesn't come very frequently maybe only once an hour and it isn't the bus that I regularly use to get around town.

It is a very narrow street which is full of parked cars which can make it difficult to park a car sometimes. It is also very busy during school opening and closing times as everyone in cars is coming up through Walpole.

There are not many abandoned buildings but there are also no landmarks or historical buildings or anything else of note.

There is a field next to this street that many people use to get to school. The grass and plants soemtimes don't get cut for months and grow too long. It can also become very wet and there are massive puddles in the pathway which can get into your shoes and make you have to buy new ones.

There are only a small playground on the field where there are a few activities for children to do however it is not maintained very well. The slide and benches are dirty when it rains and sometimes things get damaged.

Walpole is pretty close to many amenities as there is both primary and high schools that are very close. The nearest GP is about a 15 minute walk away whereas it is quite close to places of religion such as chruches and mosques. The are also some shops that are either on Walpole or just above on Dryclough Road. There are no libraries near Walpole.

There are very few places for jobs on the street but it is close to quite a few schools.

Housing is not very good. We are a family of 6 and are currently living in a 2 bedroom house despite having looked for a good house nearby for 9 years. There are some 3 and 4 bedroom houses on Walpole but they don't becme avalible very often and most houses are from the council. Not many people want to mve into Walpole.

There are not many spaces and opportunities to meet people as most of the street is just houses.

This place is notorious and viewed very negatively. There are lots of dodgy people who hang out, smoke and cause a disturbance. Neighbours get into arguments fairly often and the police are called pretty frequently. It is not a positive place to live in.

There is lots of crime and antisocial behavour that happens. There is always this feeling of uneasiness when you are walking and you see dodgy looking people hanging about on the street and smoking and being a disturbance. You never feel truly safe.

There can be litter and dog mess on the street soemtimes and every once in a while a house may have been vandalised. Not much is really done about it.

A lot of people don't report a lot of the stuff that happens out of fear and even when stuff is reported, nothing is really done. I appreciate that there is this survey and I hope you guys are listening and can do something.

crime and antisocial behaviour is by far the worst thing on this street. there is not a massive range of houses especially non council ones. traffic can get very bad during school hours and the grass on the field.

No jobs opportunities in and around Walpole. They were years ago thinking about doing a supermarket instead of houses at st Luke's but it's houses now. A supermarket would of been good

The estate is in a bad way in terms of housing. There's been families on waiting list and bidding for years. Their needs to bee bigger houses on Walpole. The houses on Walpole are so old and broken now too. The community needs good houses with funding to do up houses for gardens kitchens and bathrooms like the other areas and do up the estate in general. The people aren't that diverse

I've been here years so you get used to it. But I know people who've been here only years and they absolutely hate it. I wouldn't say it's a positive identify to have to belong to Walpole. More should be done to improve walpole and the bad image it has for druggies and crime stuff happening.

I don't anymore. Over the last few years I haven't felt safe cos there's more dealers now on Walpole then I have been here. They have knifes and machetes on them on the streets. No. Kirklees haven't done anything to improve the houses on Walpole estate. My friends in other areas have had new kitchen and bathrooms and other impruvments to there houses and we haven't got anything. Our estate is so old and just left out.

For anti social behaviour and crime - there used to be police orders where people weren't allowed in certain areas and they could issue them to the troublemakers. Get people to report the crimes in better ways that make people report crime better. Police and Kirklees have to work on this there's certain houses on Walpole that attract the anti social behaviour and crime and they should get rid of them from Walpole. Kirklees needs to fund Walpole estate improvements as it has done other estates in Kirklees. Should ask each house what they need. To not let kids go into gangs and crime Kirklees should fund a youth club so kids can go here when they aren't at school so they don't join gangs

Feel like there's too many families living in Walpole and could do with more independent adults here and elderly people too. Houses aren't good quality at all. Should be more routes to allow traffic to exit Crosland Moor to town . People dislike driving through walpole road traffic becomes congested due to several near by schools more exit routes and off street parking required in area. Many buildings are old stone smoked black. Stone washing would brighten the area also pebble dash characterless buildings are less attractive . Child friendly environment and clean roads look better. The huge grass area beside dryclough road and walpole road should be turned into parking ground for local schools and residents . Or a new road to reduce congestion.

Their is serious lack of facilities in Crosland Moor lack of healthcare doctors and dentist alternative therapists. Crosland Moor needs a state of the art health centre in beaumont park more appealing than walpole road. Serious lack of businesses no shops no clothing no petrol stations no banks about we need sainsburys with petrol station and restaurant cash machines clothing food electrical one stop shop in Crosland Moor .

The hospital and health authority abandoned Crosland Moor all the jobs went. Many businesses closed down lack of opportunities and crime risen burglary drugs antisocial. More businesses and good area increases popularity and prestige in area. Crosland Moor looks run down wash the stone and more community events activities family friendly make it enjoyable for residents and people shine.

Overcrowding. Inadequate parking car parks required not more housing new housing in different locations is better. Improve stonebuilt homes and good parking more shop and better facilities locally posh health centre built in beaumont area would attract mix of people and highly skilled professionals to improve public health.

Only place is eden centre but the lack funding to run regular activities for the community should be governments job. Would like to join womens group their to meet socialise and improve mental health. It's important to meet people for good mental health. Walpole road should be one way - buses only go one way. Walpole road is 30 miles an hour other estates are 20 miles an hour. should be double yellow lines. used as a shortcut route - put a barrier half way through the estate or have it one way.

Beaumont park is a good place to go to spend time with your family and lots of slides to go on. Its very fun and its good because people stay active. I want to have a local motor bike track we want the swing back because people keep setting it on fire. It needs a new basket ball court and new tarmac. I would like the family centre as a youth club in it I would like half library and half gaming computers.
