Reading Passages and Question Sets

ReadWorks' rich library contains thousands of curated nonfiction and fiction passages, allowing students to increase their background knowledge across subjects in support of reading comprehension. Our aligned text-dependent question sets provide carefully scaffolded practice in activating prior knowledge about text structure, inferring, monitoring and clarifying, and questioning.
Book Studies

ReadWorks Book Studies, or text sets, are designed to supplement the novels educators are already teaching in their classrooms. Our Knowledge Text Sets, Theme Text Sets and Deeper Dive Text Sets are all designed with the latest research in building background knowledge and enhancing vocabulary.
Paired Texts

Our Paired Texts invite students to strategically build vocabulary and background knowlege by reading two articles about a common topic, theme, or literary element. All paired texts come with a custom question set that supports students in drawing important connections between the two texts.

Article-A-Day is a daily, 10-minute routine designed to build background knowledge, vocabulary, and reading stamina in support of reading comprehension. Article-A-Day complements a broad range of curricula and is recommended for kindergarteners to eighth-graders.

ReadWorks information-rich decodable texts allow students to reinforce their alphabetic knowledge and decoding skills while building background knowledge in the context of meaningful, continuous text.
