1x = Consort villages are underpopulated, 2x = Underpopulated and sparsely located, 3x = There is one village, 4x = No consorts.
Your Denizen has captured something important, like fireflies, and locked them away.
Your Land is lacking in Underlings, which makes acquiring Grist difficult.
1x = 1/2 normal Underlings, 2x = 1/4 normal Underlings, 3x = 1/8 normal Underlings, 4x = no Underlings
You need to find the X pieces of the whatever and reassemble them to finish your Quest.
Your Land is missing transport methods, such as Return Nodes or other shortcuts.
1x = Return Nodes are sparse, 2x = Return Nodes only in villages, 3x = No Return Nodes, 4x = No Return Nodes, Missing a Gate
Something about your Land is off in some way, and you need to find out why as part of your Quest.
Something about your Land makes it difficult to communicate, with your Consorts and/or with the other players.

Your Denizen has spread some kind of contaminant across the world in a way that hinders daily life.
The physical features of the Land make traversing it difficult, or possibly lethal.

1x = Delays non-flight travel, 2x = Delays travel noticably, 3x = Can actively harm you, 4x = Actively trying to kill you
You must learn some kind of new skill and perform it, like Playing the Rain.
The Land's climate, weather, or atmosphere is in some way oppressive to continued functioning in it.
1x = Uncomfortable climate, 2x = Requires a little wardrobe change, 3x = Requires specialized equipment to get around, 4x = Actively trying to kill you, needs special equipment
Your Denizen has done something awful to your Consorts, and now you have to undo it.
Your Consorts don't like you. Ranges from "Kind of surly" to "will try to kill you on sight".
1x = Kind of surly, 2x = Requires convincing to let you help them, 3x = May try to eat you if given an ample opportunity, 4x = Will try to kill you on sight.
Your Denizen has erected some kind of structure(s) that is hindering progress or doing something bad, break em.
Your Consort Villages don't get along, which will get in the way of daily adventuring and RPG stuff.
1x = Minor, easily solved quibbles, 2x = 1x but they skirmish sometimes, 3x = Fights between villages are a frequent, dangerous occurrence, 4x = All out war
Your Denizen is emerging frequently to rampage or eat something, so stay out of their way until you can stop em.
