5/23/2018 13:23:51I have re-found my passion and joy in teaching!!! I have discovered that most teachers are doing the best they can with the knowledge they have. If we want them to change, we must support them where they are! I have learned that as teachers we must learn to collaborate without feeling like it is a competition. We are here for the students!!! We are our own best resource. I learned how to identify different personalities and how that translates into coaching them effectively. I shared my experiences and resources I have created with team members and other grade levels. I found that the teachers in other grade levels were more welcoming than my own.... My hope is that in the future, we can support one another as teachers better than we do now. I learned that an elementary minded principal can make HUGE changes to the climate and culture of our campus for the better in less than a year.... The text books are wrong... you don't have to wait 3 years to see results. An effective leader can see results immediately. I have learned that it is important to surround yourself with positive people who share your vision.I have found that when you do number 4, you are more likely to push yourself to be better than ever before. Not in an effort to be better than anyone else, but to be better than you were the day before. I have learned that parents need to know my goals for their kiddos. Not talking about the educational goals... I am talking about the inner dialogue goals that we have for "THOSE" students. Their parents need to know that we want to see them succeed in personal, social, emotional skills as well as academic. I have learned to trust that God has a plan for me and that he doesn't need my help to make it happen!!!Beth Hinesbethl@arpisd.org
