Big numbers, would probably be easy to get people to talk. Probably good infrastructure there too, probably events we could go to Automotive seems to be pretty big in Austin. Tesla and General Motors come off top of mind. Its an interesting field, meta is in Austin so thats a plus. Everything I see and hear about VR seems very much marketing it and trying to get the public to buy into the concept of VR/AR. Theres an incecntive for AR/VR industry to showcase their stuff in a public forum
15
well established industry/group, probably large large group, many major companies, industrial design specific firms in Austinexcitement, new interest and engagement, seems smallbig community, seems well establisheddefinitely interdisciplinary, doesn't seem like there would be a lot of these?
16
lots of em- a lot of them are freelance too; probably more spread out and could use community. I would be interested to see how architects and graphic designers could collaborate since these fields seem somewhat unconnected.tesla, argo designsmall amount of vr/ ar designers that design in the "metaverse" - not sure about other vr/ar companiesIBM in Austin... also UX is pretty popular in general. I know a lot of UXers who work remotely... Shift in commuinty since pandemic
17
can be done pretty much anywhere, large communityniched community involved in tech, new and upcoming, Austin slowly starting to become a center popular and used more and more often, digital product designrelated to architecture

dealing with physical products, industrial design conferences

Public networking opps: AIGA, Creative Mornings, lots of others

NO physical space for them to connect

only overlaps w/ core users in terms of skills – some tool overlap

Not sure what collaboration opportunities there would be here?

AIGA might already meet this need?
might not overlap in terms of collaboration BUT it seems that both architects & industrial designers work on very complex issues, might appreciate similar programming? eh not suremight be too niche?

definitely some overlap w/ architects & landscape architects –
Public networking opps: AIGA, Creative Mornings, General Assembly

Missing opps: Showcasing work, local award ceremony, mentorship

Hypothesis 1: UX designers typically work at companies that provide resources, networking, community, physical meeting space.

Hypothesis 2: Freelance UX designers would benefit from The Center
Def overlaps w/ core users but agree it isn't "different" enough

Not sure how "design-y" they are - they seem more technical than design

Would be great for getting city involvement though!
not sure how many there are?

thsi is an up and coming design discipline

seems like a major collaboration opportunity

def overlaps w/ core users
