This database is a snapshot collection of funding opportunities that have relevance to or alignment with the recreation projects submitted by stakeholders and partners as part of the Eastern Sierra Strategic Recreation Partnership’s Sustainable Recreation and Tourism Initiative (ESSRP SRTI). The MLTPA Foundation created and maintained the database for the duration of the SRTI. The final update was 11/16/2021.

While a variety of funding sources, both public and private, exist to finance the implementation of any recreation effort, the opportunities contained herein are largely grants; other opportunities, such as individual endowments or investment groups, will be considered as supplemental. Applicants, as identified in the “Eligible Applicant Type” column, are typically organized, formal organizations such as municipalities, agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits. The SRTI team worked to match these funding opportunities to recreation projects—either as submitted or as consolidated into larger, more comprehensive projects that offer bigger regional benefit. Members of the community eager to research funding for stakeholder-developed projects are encouraged to filter and review this database and explore opportunities with the appropriate partners.

HOW TO USE THIS WORKBOOK:
This workbook functions in View Only mode as a Google Sheet. Each column has been designed as a filter, accessible by clicking the filter icon on the left side and selecting “Create new temporary filter view.” The columns will then become able to be filtered, so that only the grants that match any of the selected filters will appear. For example, if one were seeking funding available to tribal governments, one would click the arrow for the “Eligible Applicant Type” column, uncheck the “(Select All)” option, then select all filters that contain “Tribal Government.” This will then re-sort the worksheet to show only those grants for which tribal governments may apply. The list of possible values for each column is available in the “Filter Codes” worksheet. To return to viewing all of the grant opportunities, go to each active column filter and choose “(Select All)”.
