Concurrent SessionCopyright, Fair Use & YouSo much of what faculty use in the classroom is not directly tied to a specific textbook—we show videos, we offer up passages from published works, and we pass out handouts and other materials that we got from somewhere. So where, exactly, is that line with respect to Fair Use? What if we want to disseminate to our students materials that have a copyright—how do we best respect that copyright without trampling over copyright law?

This workshop will have two parts. The first is a discussion over Fair Use law and overall copyright usages that pertain to our classroom. The second half will include a free, online tutorial on copyright usage and Creative Commons licensing.
