The Travel Savings Workbook is set up to help you calculate your total household income and expenses in order to determine exactly how much money you have to spend on your next vacation. Using it is super-simple:
9
10
1. Fill out your income and expenses on the BUDGET sheet. A handy hint: If you need to add more income or expense items there are three "Other" rows provided. Just click on the cell and type the name of the new item.
11
It is all pretty intuitive, just type in the relevant amounts next to each item. Type the amounts into the column that matches the frequency of the income or expense.
12
13
For example, if you are paid weekly, that would go under the "weekly" column, but a rental property income comes in monthly, put that amount in under the "monthly" column. The same goes for expenses - if you shop weekly, record your grocery expenses under the "weekly" column, but your electricity bill is quarterly put it under "quarterly".
14
15
The built-in calculations will sum up all your income and expenses and give it to you as an ANNUAL TOTAL for each. The CALCULATIONS sheet holds the formulas that are used to calcualte your total income, expenses, costs and savings. We recommend not adjusting any of the details on this sheet.
16
17
The difference between your TOTAL ANNUAL INCOME and TOTAL ANNUAL EXPENSES is shared in the TOTAL ANNUAL SAVINGS box and clearly indicates how much you have to spend on your next vacation!
18
19
2. Fill out your travel expenses on the TRAVEL COSTS sheet.
20
This is very straight-forward - just note the cost of each item on the list in the column provided. If you have expenses not specified on the list, just use the "Other" spots.
21
22
This sheet will total your travel expenses and subtract it from your total annual savings, which reveals how much money you will have left for souvenirs, fancy dinners and last-minute splurges!
