This year at Bell Ans’ Volition Gallery we want to give you a moment of pure fun and some well deserved self-indulgence.

THINK …..
Cheese Doodles, the Carpenters, romance novels, buying stuff on QVC, glitter on stuff, doll collecting, potato chips in bed, actually any kind of food in bed, cat videos, video games, and ahh sweet NETFILX bingeing. Is any of this good for us?

Not really, but after all, that’s the point!

All artists create visual languages to convey narratives and concepts that are important to them. These languages establish a formal construct which can be representational or abstract. As such they create a unique way of communicating ideas. Historically, artists have used their personal lexicon to express religious, political, historical or spiritual ideas. Contemporary artists can reference the real world directly or they can create a singular language devised, codified, presented, performed, and understood only by the artist themselves and their followers. The show Visual Narratives explores these artistic imagined and created world views, lexicons, and visual languages, which are at the heart of this exhibition. Participating artworks are considered from all media. Juror: Katerina Lanfranco, is the Chief Curator at Trestle Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, and Founder of Rhombus Space, an exhibition venue established in 2013.
Eligibility: • Open to all artists, 18 years and older, residing in the Tri-State area (Connecticut, New York and New Jersey) • Media: drawing, painting, photography, digital art and mixed media. Mid-Atlantic LGBTQA Conference - Art Exhibition
The act of reuniting can elicit a number of emotions such as excitement, apprehension, hope, fear, and empowerment. Reunions also engage us to think about distance, separation, the past, and the future.

The Gallery at Greenly Center and Bloomsburg University invite all artists to submit work in all mediums for an upcoming exhibition on any concept involving reunions. How do artists tackle the emotional complexities of reunions? How do artists bring together materials in interesting ways to facilitate the ideas of reunions? Or how do collaborations with artists get us to think about reunions from a different point of view?

This exhibition will kick off the Tenth Annual Mid-Atlantic LGBTQA Conference in Bloomsburg, PA. The theme for this year’s conference is Reunion: Return, Reconnect, Respond. In addition to the exhibition, some artists will be featured in the conference booklet and receive a copy.

The first exhibition is titled Me, Myself and I and will be followed by THEM, US  and ALL. This exhibit seeks submissions from artists who use their functional and vessel-based ceramic art to explore concepts around self, experiences, and the triumphs and challenges faced either in the daily tasks of living or one’s place in society. This national call for entries will be juried by Kathy King, a renowned artist and educator whose own work reflects the very core theme of the show. As guest juror, she has invited kindred artists Mark Burns, Cheyenne Rudolph, Beth Lo, and Matt Nolen who also use their art to reflect identity and self-awareness.Any artist in the United States over the age of 18. Vox Populi Gallery
Call for Performance Proposals
Call for performance proposalsFreehttp://bit.ly/2neOMbQOngoingVox Populi is now accepting proposals for performance work on a rolling basis. Performances will take place in our lobby area during select First Friday receptions. Proposals may take a multitude of forms: experimental music or dance, workshops, discussions, performance art or alternative temporary exhibitions. Vox Populi is interested in artists, curators, and performers who work in experimental media or employ alternative methodologies in their work, and invites applicants to take advantage of the open ended nature of this call. Proposals should outline the planned work accurately but succinctly and include images, video or audio files if necessary. Proposals are considered on an as-needed basis and may not receive a timely response. Please wait one year before reapplying with the same work. Performers will receive a $100 honorarium for their work. Email submissions and any questions to exhibitions@voxpopuligallery.org with the subject line “First Friday Performance” No phone calls please!Julia Staples
