Student Leaders is a fun and welcoming group that aims to better our school and community. We plan many of ECA's social events (Black History Month Showcase, Harvest Hangout, Talent Show, Prom, etc.). We also volunteer in and around our community and are dedicated to enhancing ECA students' well-being, enjoyment, and social productivity. ECA's Art Club is a relaxed group of art lovers who connect as they're able in order to do solo and shared projects, play art-based games, work on portfolios as folks are interested, and sometimes take part in activities out in the community. Open to all, we meet twice a week and determine which days each semester. Mock Trial is a fun and engaging club that gives students the chance to simulate court trials as either attorneys or witnesses. Students look and act the part of legal professionals as they bring their case before a judge and jury in a real courtroom. This is a terrific opportunity for students who are interested in public speaking, debate, trial advocacy, and/or theater. You can even be a courtroom artist, sketching the trial as it unfolds! ECA's yearbook is an all-volunteer effort, so this club is social, promotional, and vital in publishing the yearbook in June. The yearbook staff will play with and practice graphic design, photography, and writing skills. ECA Peer Mentors
Do you recall your first semester/year as an ECA student? Did you feel lost or overwhelmed? Was it difficult to make new friends? Did you wish you had someone to help you learn the ECA way? Well now you can be that person for our Academy, Returning Academy or First Year Student, if you become an ECA Peer Mentor!!! Purpose: The purpose of the ECA's Mentoring Program is to provide support, encouragement, and a peer's perspective--from one ECA student to another. Muslim Association Club (MAC) The Muslim Association Club (MAC) is a student-led organization. MAC is meant to be a safe space for Muslim students to talk about shared experiences and knowledge. MAC is not only for the Muslim population at ECA--non-Muslims are invited to engage in da’wah (the teaching people to learn about Islam) from other Muslim students. The ECA Diversiteam is an organization of ECA students interested in learning about, talking about, advocating for, and acting on issues related to diversity in our school, on our campus, in our communities, and in our society. ECA's Diversiteam believes that the discussion around diversity should be acknowledged year-round as it is an important piece of our community. ECA Peer2Peer
Peer2Peer is a group of ECA students working to raise awareness about factors that contribute to depression and anxiety, and help ECA students recognize symptoms associated with depression and anxiety. The P2P group is a non-judgmental group of teens dedicated to reaching out and supporting students in the ECA community. Board Game ClubBoard games are absorbing, engaging, and hilarious fun. In addition, research suggests that your board gaming habits also do wonderful things for your brain! Pre-Med ClubOur club's main focus is to diversify not only the population of students entering the medical field, but also to encourage club-members to explore different professions within the health-care field. The Black Student Union is open to all African-American-identifying ECA students. The organization aims to create a safe space for African-American Students. Engineering ClubThe Engineering Club offers high school students an exciting opportunity to explore the world of engineering through hands-on projects, with a special focus on robotics.
