Your bit is not legal in dressage. This is a very impressive horse with much suspension and power. Work on getting him to use the power to cover ground rather than to go up and down and encourage him to reach out to the bridle rather than ducking away from it. Altho I can see he is strong, the bit is simply encouraging him to back off your hand and escape rather than inviting him to connect. Consider loosening your curb rein a lot if you are unwilling to change bits at this time. Best of luck with this expressive horse.
