EIT Higher Education Initiative (HEI) 2025 call for proposals

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has launched a new call under its Higher Education Initiative (HEI) to boost STEM education, strengthen innovation capacity, and support Europe’s future workforce. With a budget of up to €70 million, and up to €2 million available per project over 24 months (2026–2028), this is the largest call issued under the programme to date. It strengthens innovation and entrepreneurship in STEM fields while inviting the European Universities alliances to collaborate more closely with Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem. Consortia of higher education institutions, businesses, research organisations, public bodies and other non-academic partners are invited to consult the full call text and begin preparing applications. Girls Go Circular supports schoolgirls, and more broadly, any student, to develop their digital and leadership skills while learning about the circular economy and finding solutions for a sustainable future.The online learning platform developed in the framework of the project – the “Circular Learning Space” – offers students the option of choosing between different learning modules on topics like e-waste, climate change, food, or robotics. The "InfraBooster Foundation" course is the first of three steps in the InfraBooster Programme. It is open for participants from different scientific and educational backgrounds with relatively inclusive recruitment and selection approaches, and participants do not need to demonstrate specialist technological or marketing knowledge. The Venture Centre of Excellence (VCoE) is an Open Innovation programme connecting investors (such as Venture Capital funds (VCs) and industrial, academic, Technology Transfer Office (TTO) investors, insurers) and other key stakeholders from the life sciences and healthcare ecosystems, to highly qualified pan-European deal flow, accessed through a custom AI platform and exclusive member community.

As part of its mission to accelerate the transition to more sustainable and inclusive urban mobility, EIT Urban Mobility will continue to support early-stage ventures (pre-seed) through a dedicated accelerator programme running from 2026 to 2028, while reinforcing its position as a leading impact investor in mobility ventures. RAPTOR (Rapid Applications for Transport) is EIT Urban Mobility’s rapid piloting programme designed to address concrete urban mobility challenges through fast and focused collaboration between cities and innovators. Participating cities define a specific challenge linked to their local mobility needs. Startups and SMEs propose solutions tailored to that challenge and work closely with the city to adapt, test, and validate the solution in a real urban environment.
