I would like to be working:
I am not working in the way that I want because:
How often do you go into your workplace in a normal week?
How often are your teammates in your workplace at the same time as you?
When you’re in the workplace how much of your interactions (meetings, social, incidental) with people in the workplace?
I feel connected with my direct colleagues (teammates, people you work with on a regular basis)
I feel connect with my company as a whole.
I have fun at workI am happy at work
I am happy in my personal life
How much time do you spend on topics not related directly to your main work objectives?
If there anything you miss about going to the office regularly?
What is your company doing to “push” people back to the office (forced office days, minimum team office days, etc)?
They are working.
What is your company doing to “pull” people back to the office (culture events, office-based perks, etc)?
They are working.
Anything else you would like to add on this topic?

There are a few office based perks / social gatherings either early in the morning or after the working day
It all depends on what you’re looking for? For me my team is split across multiple sites and across the country so getting them into the office all at the same time just to be face-2-face doesn’t make sense! On a personal level I do miss the whiteboard sessions!

There is a weird divide of people who negatively judge people who don’t want to come to the office and those who would just like to not go to the office and not be bothered about it. It seems like eventually companies will be forced to go all remote or all mostly-office. I’m not seeing a healthy hybrid environment.

I like hybrid because of flexibility. However I also like to be in the office to make connections, especially as someone who moved for work and needs to break in to social circles. But there is no space like "My Desk" where I feel comfortable like pre-pandemic days so its better to just go home if I need to concentrate.

We’re working to put in preferred office days so that people know if they turn up on these days then there’s more likely to be people there. Nothing mandated though.
On those preferred days, we’re looking to put on events that help build social connections - breakfast clubs, lunch and learns, social events, team retros etc. We’re thoughtful about those people that can’t attend and attempt to vary the events and days so that everyone gets the chance to attend in the future.
4
We have a trust-based people-first approach to hybrid work. Our people work from where they work best - whether that’s at home, coworking space, our office or somewhere else. There’s no mandated days in the office, nor any mandated approach that you must to take to hybrid.

rarely see colleagues that are not directly in my team (my team has 1 office day) - so outside my domain there's so many people I have worked with that I've never seen in person, I miss seeing everyone I work with at least some times face to face
company insists hiring locally, but teams decide how often people should come to the office (some teams still end up working fully remote)
3
sports groups, some events, really nice office space I enjoy spending time in
3
Hiring for the culture the company has/wants is important. expectations need to be clear. personally I will never want to work in a fully remote company or somewhere where I dont see my colleagues in the office because they have a different mindset or preference. other people would never want to work for a company that wants people on-side.
On-site, hybrid, and fully remote can all be highly functioning work environments if all the people have buy-in. this means during the current times when companies go though transitions there will be friction and dissatisfaction until employees change to the right employer for their wants and needs (at least within the IT-bubble this should be easily possible)

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I personally like being in the office, and I'm perfectly happy that others work either fully remote or hybrid. However, I think basic human nature will (over time) lead to more visibility for those working in the office; Their work will be judged more favorably, and they will make/have more connections; Those who at least come into the office sometimes will be the ones who get promoted/raises/rewards etc, and those who only work remotely will be at a disadvantage.

all "pull" effects seem to focus on things related to fun, it would be good to see more focus on productivity and professional development. currently i'm much more productive in my home office because it is less noisy and distracting, i have a better screen (all office screens are low resolution, i.e. below 4k density), a nicer desk and overall a really nice working environment. I know this might not be the case for many others working from home, but for me personally the office environment is lacking compared to my home office and the company would need to rework their approach. For me personally this is much more important than having a cake every other day.

Since we started hiring remotely, hybrid work isn’t much of a concern for me anymore. Everyone should be treated a 1st-class team member, whether being in the office or working remotely. We’re actually thinking about going remote first, downsizing the office and making it a nice to have add-on. I think culture really showed when the office became optional, because it’s more about the work than ever before. Actually, it didn’t change much for us, but for those people who still want to come to the office and see people in person regularly. But I have the impression that those without that desire, feel more connected to their work.

I think that I really have opportunity to work as I like. I mostly like to work from office because I am ambivert and need social interactions which I can't get working alone from home. But there are some days when I like to work from home. For this opportunity to choose, I really like hybrid model
More than 4 days a week.43444332
Currently there are no actions taken. We have several colleagues working from other lithuanian cities who couldn't come everyday to office.
It should be noted that my company currently has ~26 people working here. Out of which there are about 8-10 colleagues working from office nearly every day and several more who work from office 2-3 days per week.
It's more like some events which happen once per month or two and additionally celebrations like Halloween, Christmas and similar when majority of colleagues come to office. Other than that there are no other actions taken from administration.
Back 4 years when I started working in IT I always wanted to have opportunity to work from home. But I only got this opportunity when 2020 quarantine started. I was happy at that time. But after some time I felt that I need more social interactions (I was living alone at that time) but I didn't want to come back to office because majority of my team was based in other countries and colleagues from my country were happy working from home and had no intentions in returning to office. Some people were working in office but our office was closed style were each team had separate rooms so it was harder to get to know colleagues from other teams. So I changed my job to one where some people work from office regularly and I'm still happy about this decision.

For some time I thought that everyone should come to office and saw tons of post in LinkedIn about why working from office is not an option. But what changed my opinion was my own experience and talking with friends and colleagues who work from home.
But talking shortly I think that hybrid model wouldn't work if there wouldn't be some people constantly working from office.

During 1 year span I received quite a lot of job offers and only few of those had hybrid work model available. Maybe about 70% if not more had remote-only work model which is sad to see for a person who likes to have freedom of hybrid model.

As some people call lazy those who don't want to go to the office, we (those who like hybrid) can also say that people who like being in the office don't like their family or pets 🤷
I value my time, and commuting is not worth to do it daily if I'm going to work the same way I do at home but with an inferior setup (smaller screen, generic keyboard, crappy mouse, compared to, my own equipment)

Interaction with people, socially and just to ask the odd work related work. Unfortunately the office I work in is drab and uninviting so home as an environment is far more appealing than going into the office.
It's a departmental decision, and whilst the comms are "we're relaxed about you coming in when you want" there's a definite undercurrent of mandating a day a week.
3Nothing1
I work in the public sector, and traditionally the public has not been able to compete salary wise with the private sector which is why it seems odd that the public sector is not fully embracing hybrid and flexible working. Not only would it save public funds by offering innovative office space but it would work well with the work life balance. Unfortunately I do not think it is a priority with capacity and workload of most public employees so much now that they can barely get through the day to day with time to use for "future ways of working" to be considered properly and decisions being made. Add into that the politician's views on working from home (we're all lazy and she be grateful for the work). Sitting in the civil service as I do I am worried at the amount of leavers from the public sector, I'm all for streamlining services but highly skilled people are leaving and not being replaced. Scary times.

A handful of social things, but it's more than offset by the positives of no commute
Nothing, they've made hybrid a company directive so everyone can choose where they work. We would travel once a year to work in person for a week and that was plenty enough to form very strong social bonds with my team mates
Nothing more than before
The social perks I got from an office environment I get from periodically co-working in my local area with folks from other companies, and once travel budgets come back, traveling to hq once a year. There's absolutely no reason to force anyone into an office, though an office or offering to pay for co-working is great for folks who don't have an ideal wfh situation. I've been lucky enough to work in this mode for almost a decade and my teams have always been efficient and happy.

Your title is true: hybrid working is hard. People think remote working is hard but it's merely more intentional. Hybrid work has all the downsides of remote work _and_ the downsides of in-office working. You still have to be as intentional!

I feel like the answer to "I feel connected to my team" is rated high because I spent a considerate amount of time on a hybrid setting with the team. Now going to a full remote setting (for personal reasons, now I'm located too far away for office days) is ok but I don't know if I would enjoy it if I were to start from scratch in a new team/company.

incentives, not fixed rules: regular food (breakfasts, pizzas), events, general encouragement to network.

Working in the office is great if you know the people there, you have space to work and you have a good time. Forcing people to be there is a terrible idea.

* Bouncing ideas, discussing a topic. Zoom/Hangouts tend to be structured meeting with a defined agenda and a need for clear outcomes, less room for "debating a topic" without needing action points at the end.
* Separating home and work
Nothing. Just a desire from a few managers without much result which can lead to peer pressure.

The company tends to move in the opposite direction, hiring people globally and remote related restrictions.

Regular optional social events in the office

I'm coming from a full remote and distributed company that had a stronger culture and where people felt more connected than my current hybrid employer. Both companies roughly had the same number of employees.

Seeing the way we use the office, I'm not sure why people want to come to an office to sit next to each other with noise cancelling headphones and no interactions. It could be a place to occasionally meet-up and spend real time interacting, doing workshops etc.

Additionally, trying to "pull" employees back with social events is excluding those hired remotely in other geographies. At least if it's the only social aspect on offer.

An assumption is that employers who reluctantly go hybrid tend to invest less in making the remote part work and end up with a poorer results than remote companies who fully embrace it.

Hybrid is an opportunity to have the best of both worlds but often results in the worst of both.

Hope this helps!

Always seeing the same faces - sometimes you're surprised people aren't in the office when you are and vice versa on days when you are WFH.

Workplace banter is also restricted when you aren't in the office as much, which of course adds to the culture
For my company, Wednesdays and Thursdays are "core days" where the main staff have to come into the office (the aim is to maintain the culture and build relationships). We have to then choose one extra day to come in which can be either Monday/Tuesday/Friday.

The public working space we have also has incentives (e.g. Wellness Wednesday's, Pizza Thursdays etc)

Hybrid work limits the pool of available companies you can work for. If I live in Munich, I cannot work for a company based on Berlin if they require me to go 1 or 2 days per week to the office.

Not enough focus on real support and leadership as value add to being back in office. Way to much window dressing - control and managing disguised as an inclusive culture or team focus.
