Saw a few other walkers on the road but nobody in the woods, although there was at least one set of footprints on the trail. Walking the road at dusk - many American Woodcock calling and doing their courtship flights.

Brown3/25/202011:30:00 AM1:15:06Gorgeous day to be out in the woods! Thanks so much for setting up the course Mike! Was both challenging and fun. Didn't press as hard as we would have in a regular meet which made it quite enjoyable. Struggled a bit with judging the 5 meter contours on the mid-late part of the course, kept looking a bit too high. Saw 2 deer swimming across the lake inlet. Splits were 4:33 to #1, 7:51 to #2 (12:24), 6:51 to #3 (19:15), 9:53 to #4 (29:09), 12:59 to #5 (42:08) looking way too high there, 8:33 to #6 (50:42), 7:17 to #7 (57:59), 3:53 to #8 (1:01:53), 4:13 to #9 (1:06:06), 3:33 to #10 (1:09:39), 2:31 to #11 (1:12:10), 2:56 to the finish (1:15:06).

Other4/2/202011:45:00 AM1:39:34Enjoyed going out last week so much that we came back and did the Orange course. Added in markers 64 and 42 from the Green course since they were in the area. Amazing how much more honeysuckle was in leaf after just a week.

4/6/2020 8:18:27Brenda BlacklockBrown4/5/20205:00:00 PM1:40:14Best OCIN course so far this year! Lots of potential and actual parallel errors in the NW of the map. The thousands of Twin Leaf in bloom were incredible. Thank you!

4/6/2020 8:45:05Todd HensonRed4/2/20203:00:00 PM2:32:00DNF! Ran out of time, but plan to go back to finish the other controls. I found this map to be quite challenging and over ran a couple controls. I found having the place to myself to be a unique orienteering experience!

4/6/2020 23:32:48Jasper Ralinovsky Red4/5/202012:00:00 PM2:15:12The biggest challenge for me was the difference of height of controls, especially the ones nearly on the ground. It was a great navigation practice to try and find those tiny streamers! The temperature was perfect for an afternoon of running in the woods. Big thanks to Mike for setting up this great course!

4/11/2020 17:54:11Mike MiniumBrown4/11/20203:20:00 PM0:48:09Forgot to take a compass. Honeysuckle and multiflora is greening up.
Brown has less thick vegetation than green or red, but I still would not recommend shorts.
Weather conditions mostly sunny with high clouds, around 50-55 degrees.
Went too far right going from 2 to 3, corrected ok. Overshot #7 which cost about a minute.
Course straight line length 3.8 km; GPS track 4.8 km.
Splits 1-3:48, 2-4:51, 3-4:31, 4-8:08, 5-2:50, 6-5:23, 7-4:54, 8-1:51, 9-3:27, 10-3:02, 11-1:56, F-3:28

4/11/2020 19:33:40Andy + Linette BarryOrange4/10/202012:00:00 PM3:34:00Nice day, walked course, talked with a mushroom hunter and a guy running his two basset hounds. wonderful wild flowers everywhere. Hard course but good practice on finding the right reentrant.

4/18/2020 14:55:29Tom SRed4/15/20205:00:00 PM2:00:00I didn't complete the whole course. Skipped the last 5 controls. Very nice course, except for the area around 6. That was horrible. Many flowers out; light green undergrowth; red bud just starting to light up the woods. My best executed leg was 12; ended up going almost straight. 13 and 14 also good.

4/18/2020 19:56:50Shane DawaltOrange4/18/20201:23:00 PM2:37:00Green was fun so I did orange today. Missing controls: 35 (should have been obvious - wasted 10 minutes hunting), 52 (found it on green course two weeks ago - not there today). I walked past 36 on green, but didn't see it today so it may be missing. I retied the pink streamer on control 43 (animal had chewed on it).

Other controls were all ok. Found a couple pieces of streamers on road and trail.

4/21/2020 13:57:56Tom SGreen4/19/20201:00:00 PM0:59:00Did 1-7 on Green and 4-F on Brown. (7G/4Br) is same control. Beautiful day to be in the woods. Not enough new green to make a fight, but just enough to make the nav a little harder. Saw junco and brownhead cowbird.
