Step 1)Make a copy of this sheet.

Go to File > Make a copy
Call your document "Your Company Name - Polar Import" (ex: "Polar Analytics - Polar Import")

Step 2)Navigate to the "exchange_rate_report" sheet and begin adding your data.

Do not remove any columns. The columns you're required to have data for are date, currency, and value
Any dimension (text-based) cells that you're not using can remain empty, but you'll need to put "0.00" for any metric (numerical-based) cells that are empty (do not leave these cells blank).

You do not have to load a full dataframe. Polar has its own table with historical exchange rates for currencies. Add only the specific day/currency pairs you want to customize (for example, if you have specific GBP values for June 2024 only, just put those dates. Polar will fill the rest of the historical exchange rate data with its own values in your app)

Keep in mind that the currency column should be in the target currency (ex: GBP)
USD will be considered as a source (even if it's not in the tab), as Polar stores your raw data in USD.

For example, if you want to fill GBP values (or any other currency of your choice) for June 2024:
- create a row for every day in June 2024 (from 1st to 30th)
- write GBP (the currency of your choice) in the currency column
- write the value you want each USD to have in GBP (0.79 for instance)
see in the "exchange_rate_report" tab for example

You can fill values in the future (you can fill July 2024 values even if we are currently in June 2024). They will be used

You can fill values in the past, but for it to be taken into account, Polar will need to fully refresh your data. Ask your contact at Polar

Formatting: Make sure that
- the date column is by day and in the DD/MM/YYYY format
- the currency column is in the ISO_4217 format (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217)
- the value column is numeric (ex: "10.2" is acceptable, "10,2" is not)

Do not add spaces in your cells

Step 3)Copy your spreadsheet URL from your browser's address bar and paste it to the "Sheet URL" field in Polar.
Please make sure to copy the url entirely with the "/edit#gid=" (see Image 1 below).

Step 4)Copy and paste the Named Range into Polar.

- In your sheet, navigate to Data > Named ranges (see Image 2 below).

- In the Named ranges menu, copy the name of the range (see Image 3 below). The default name is "polar_test_range" - but you can adjust this if you'd like. Do NOT change the data range - this should remain "exchange_report!A:I".

- Paste the name of the range that you copied into the "Named Range" field in your Polar Connectors tab under Google Sheets (see Image 4 below).

Step 5)Select "Save" in Polar and wait for your data to sync.

Note that you will see the data after your next refresh. Once the sync is complete, verify that your sheet is connected by navigating to your Connectors tab and clicking "Configure" under Google Sheets. If the sheet is finished importing, it will say "Connected" and the toggle bar will be green (see Image 5 below).

To sync your exchange_rate data in the past, Polar will need to fully refresh your historical data. Just ask your contact at Polar for the team to schedule a full refresh of your data
