TimestampWhich Leader did you choose? And why did you choose that leader? Did entering your own name make a difference to you experience? If so, why?Thinking about the leader choices... how long did it take you to choose a leader? Did you consider this a difficult choice, involved, interesting, fun, too complicated etc?Did you feel there was a choice or did they feel similar? If you could change anyting about the leader choices, what would you change? Did you enjoy the stories and stats attached to each choice? Further in the game, your stats will make an important difference to policies and changes you can make to adapt. If you could change attributes about the leaders, how, and what would you change them to? Overall did the premise of the game appeal to you, if not, what would you change? If so, why? Do you feel that having an option to decline your leadership position and experience a more difficult game add anything? If you didn't decline, just move on to the next question! :)Any other comments, feedback, suggestions - all thoughts and ideas are welcome!Notes

04/03/2022 20:46:26No, because it was just text on a screen. Perhaps if I signed in with one of my social accounts, the link would feel stronger, and I would feel more accountability.I read all the leader bios, but then just picked one at random to see where the game went. There was a choice, and I enjoyed the stories. I wouldn't change anything about the leader choices. I'm currently thinking up placing them on a chart of 4 quadrants, with the Y axis having "believe" at the top and "deny" at the bottom, and the X axis having "action" on the left, and "inaction" on the right. The Activist would be someone who "believes" in climate change, and would like "action", i.e. start doing things to fix climate change. Nihilist: "believe" and indifferent on "action"/"inaction". Overwhelmed is "believe" and "action" in their heads, but not in their actions. Denier is "deny", and "inaction" as far as fixing climate is concerned, but "action" as far as spreading false information. I'm wondering if there are more places on this chart, or perhaps an altogether different chart can be created, with "good"/"evil" on an axis. E.g. what if someone was a believer, but did everything in their power to speed it up, because they want to see the human race perish? I've met someone who loves nature, but wants to see the human race die, because they think we're not worthy of being on earth anymore.Perhaps the Nihilist could be destructive, as I alluded to in my previous answer. The game does appeal to me. I wouldn't change anything, and want to see more, in fact.I know it's only a prototype, but "restart" didn't clear the screen. On subsequent play-throughs, some options were missing (e.g. only 3 leaders, or only "No").

04/03/2022 21:08:51OverwhelmedYes, it made the choosing a leader section feel more personal.I spent a while reading through them, and since I put my name in at the beginning choose the one closet to me in real life. The different points each leader can receive were interesting, it would be good to have an explanation on how they affect the game. The leaders were interesting, the stories for each of them made them all seem quite different. Although it does seem like there is two 'good' choices and two 'bad'?I'm not sure what the attributes do, but they seemed to be fairly well spaced out (Especially the denier one!)The premise is appealing, I'm not sure how much the choices affect how you start/ options in the game further. Is the game going to be designed for multiple playthroughs? After having picked the option that I thought would be good, I went back and choose all the worst ones just to see what would happen.

05/03/2022 16:31:15ActivistNopeDidn't take very long. I did find it difficult because all have their downsides. None is your perfect leader. I think that was good.I felt there was a choice. Although it was hard to envision what the choice will have for effect in the game. I saw the different stats but without knowing how those stats affect gameplay it was difficult to choose. Not sureI think it's really a game for my boyfriend haha but less so for me. I'm not such a fan of political/policy type games. But that is because my assumption about your game is that it involves persuading other leaders etc. to do things. There isn't really something I would change as it's just a personal preference. Was that an option?

06/03/2022 13:43:25NihilistYesI felt like I wanted to do more for the planetThe leaders were definitely different and I personally know each of those type of people. It was very interesting.I think they were good- people might pick the eco warrior as they have a spread of all attributes rather than pick the leader they most identify withI like it so far, want more please!Ooh!! Like questions about our knowledge of the climate or recycling, and giving us our leader instead of us choosing!! I like that idea, and of course we can change it if we don’t agree…Maybe the more conscious of the environment you are gives you extra cards to start with - some sort of bonus for being awesome.

06/03/2022 13:57:50OverwhelmedYesInvolvedThe options were all very different but only one option spoke to me. I would want an ideal option for charisma and effectiveness combined with the ability and knowledge to do good. I realise that would have made the whole thing very obvious though. It reminded of papers please, so it appealed to me. I didn’t realise I could decline, maybe I’m dense.

06/03/2022 16:30:50OverwhelmedI don't think so.A few minutes, deciding whether or not to chose who I'd want to be vs who I think I actually am.They felt different, and interesting. I feel like there are other positions, but in essence they're mostly just in-between or less polarised state.I'm not sure. For me, it would depend on the gameplay mechanics and interface. I usually have a preference for exploring a story over mashing a controller, so I imagine this might be up my street. It hadn't occurred to me that declining would lead to additional options :)

07/03/2022 16:23:31OverwhelmedIt was a nice bit of additional customisation.I took some time to consider which of the choices best reflected my own situation, it definitely forced me to reflect on my own responses to the climate crisis and how I fit into these archetypes.I thought the stories were well written and reflected current societal trends. I did think that I was put off choosing some options due to a negative connotation to them in the narrative, however this may be my own bias creeping in.The balance of attributes seemed fair to me.Yes the story and concept of the game definitely appeals to me.I went back to try the decline option, I think the idea of introducing your harder difficulties by having the player decline their responsibilities is a novel idea.

10/03/2022 22:33:37OverwhelmedYes, it felt more personal and direct. Interesting, especially after I read the descriptions. The leader names come across as dry at first but after reading their descriptions my perspective of them changed. Each felt different and started sounding more like official titles, so the stories worked for sure.Attributes feel all right, I feel like the Denier is an obvious 'NO' because of the stat redistribution :D It feel like if you want to play as a villain pick the Denier. It's a strong start, I would like to see where it goes. The premise is strong and I enjoyed the stories a lot, I hope that more will be incorporated into the game.Adjusted Survey slightly, improved clarity and spelling mistakes

12/03/2022 20:44:42DenierBecause climate change goes on natural cycles. Yes, it felt more personalToo complicated - and I thought some leaders got better attributes than others.Rather than give a description I would rather have, say, 10 questions so the game chooses for you.eg who do you admire the most: Mandela, genghis Khan, Lincoln or budda?I liked the stories, but not the stats as (see above) I thought the dice were loaded.I liked it.N/aI liked the graphics - suitably apocalyptical

14/03/2022 13:46:58NihilistIt had more 'tick boxes' for meThe choices were quite 'wordy' - might put people off moving forwardThought the choices covered most optionsIt's difficult to tell with just one stage but i can see how the 'layering' would tailor make the game to you.Difficult to answer as i don't really have any interest in games unfortunately

14/03/2022 13:50:59NihilistFelt this was my honest answerCompleted as unknownThought provokingThought three was a choiceNot sure I understood the stats would play a part laterObviously topical but not sure I'd pick this as a game to relax with

16/03/2022 09:41:32NihilistIt was closest to the real meWouldn't want to give whole name for fear of online security Took 5 minutes, read through each twice. If your going to be a leader I figure you shouldn't try to be someone your not as it wouldn't take long to get 'found out'.
Wasn't a difficult choice and found it more interesting and thought provoking.
Plenty choice and all were very different. A little confused now as I don't feel I have played a game? Perhaps I missed something and went to survey too soon??No didn't appeal to me, I wouldn't do any games online. So I definitely missed something, all I did was choose a leader?I maybe did something wrong, don't feel like I've played a game. I don't have a good knowledge of computers. Did I miss something??Explained parts about the survey and how the stats work here to avoid confusion

16/03/2022 15:55:30ActivistBecause I couldDid not enter nameimmediately after reading all choices Choies were simplistic in their extremist views.RepetativeToo soon to tell

22/03/2022 19:14:59DenierI thought it would be interesting to try becoming a character who has quite different attitudes to my own (sorry if I'm not supposed to have done that!). And I liked the idea of having all that influence...Yes - it felt much more personal! It felt like 2-3 mins to read through the text. It was fun and interesting! Of course I don't know what happens next in the game, so I wasn't sure what the stakes were exactly of my decision - obviously knowing more about the game could make a big difference to what decision I might make and how I'd feel about it.I felt there was a good range of options! I would probably put myself somewhere between "activist" and "overwhelmed" in my real-life attitudes, and I wonder whether that might be true for quite a lot of people. I liked the stats! One thing I wasn't clear about initially was the scale (i.e. what a big or small number might be on these stats) -- it could be given as a score out of a certain maximum (i.e. 5/20) or a percentage or something?Yes I was intrigued! As a player I was curious to find out more about how the world had arrived at this system of leadership and how it all worked politically - but I didn't feel like I needed all that up front, just it would be fun back story!
