2NGPF by Common Core StandardsThis spreadsheet is for math teachers to navigate ALL of NGPF's activities that include mathematical skill practice. The activities are organized by the Common Core High School math domains (green boxes), then by category and specific topic.
5
2Number ChugsNumber Chugs are designed to allow students to practice math concepts in the context of personal finance situations. Number Chugs are also a great way to differentiate because questions are scaffolded into 3 distinct sections!
6
3Data CrunchesData Crunches are quick, one page resources that are all about analyzing charts and graphs to reinforce the big ideas in personal finance. Each Data Crunch includes 1 chart or graph that is accompanied by 5, scaffolded questions.
7
4Spreadsheet ResourcesThis collection of NGPF resources (including Activities, Projects and more) allows students to practice their spreadsheet skills and learn personal finance concepts in the process. For many students, entering each cell with data and seeing the outcome based on the excel function can really help the ideas come alive!
8
5ActivitiesThese Activities ask students to calculate the numbers using online calculators or with simple calculations on their own. This allows students to apply their knowledge during a lesson to analyze the numbers.
9
6Online CalculatorsWe have curated these online Calculators in case you want to use them in your classroom without using one of NGPF's activities. These may also be helpful if you want students to do something like the Number Chugs without all of the computation they have to do on their own!
10
7Case StudiesCase studies are all about student discussion and multiple, potential right answers. These Case Studies include math so that students have to use the numbers to justify their arguments.
11
8ProjectsNGPF Projects are more involved then the other resource types. For this reason, the math in these projects will often strengthen a student's deeper understanding of the material.
12
9Fine PrintsIn The Fine Prints, students analyze real-life forms and documents to look deeper at the terms, agreements, and facts. In these instances, students can practice making quick calculations when it matters.
