I am sending the next president to the convention, I had provided exposure to the next president with all the student Chapters, from Mizzou, Rolla, St Louis U and Washington U. | 1) Reaching out to the student Chapters in an effective way by participating on regional, social activities with a significant measurable and documented results, 2) Getting the finances in order, funded activities that include the regions engineering schools sponsor by the St Louis Alumni Chapter, our finances are in order we are financially stable in 2025. 3) Reach out to the community in need after the Deadly EF3 Tornado on May 16 that destroy over 1600 homes produce a 1.6 Billion in damages, TBP Alumni had play an important role in the development of a manual used by architects and engineers to provide home owners and businesses with basics on flat and sloped roof repairs , (as well as parapets) in close combination with City officials, the AIA and other technically oriented organization we play a key role on a Pro-Bono basis, participation is being on going as our participation is documented. We are in a position of leadership yet discrete and effective dealing with St Louis AIA. | Continue building up for a great next year 2026 and culminating in having a strong organization to support the 2027 Convention. Our vision here in St Louis is: The St. Louis Chapter of Tau Beta Pi envisions itself as a dynamic, unifying presence within the greater St. Louis engineering community—bridging professional excellence, academic distinction, and service leadership. Our mission extends beyond traditional chapter activities to meaningfully connect with: 1. TBP Members-at-Large in the Community We aim to create an inclusive network that invites and empowers TBP members who reside and work throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. Through regular networking events, continuing education opportunities, and collaborative service initiatives, we seek to: Re-engage alumni and members-at-large in chapter-led efforts, Foster mentorship connections between professionals and student members, Celebrate the lifelong relevance of TBP’s ideals—integrity, excellence, and ethical leadership. 2. Regional University Chapters Recognizing the unique strengths of our area’s academic institutions, we will actively coordinate with student chapters at: University of Missouri – Columbia (Mizzou) Saint Louis University (SLU) Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) Our vision is to establish a regional TBP consortium that supports shared events such as: Joint community service days, Regional leadership workshops, Inter-chapter research showcases and ethics forums, Recruitment efforts promoting TBP across all campuses. 3. The Greater St. Louis Community Engineering is not only technical, but also deeply human. We believe TBP has a vital role in solving real problems in our neighborhoods, especially those involving infrastructure, education, and sustainability. To that end, our chapter will: Partner with local schools and STEM organizations to inspire the next generation of engineers, Provide engineering outreach in underserved communities, Support city-wide initiatives in public works, safety, and resilience. | I cannot emphasize enough that in order to turn this chapter around 1) we developed a clear mission and vision, 2) We have a strong governance, 3) We have a strong strategic planning followed by measurable tactical effort, 4) We engage membership, 5) We are in total legal and financial compliance. | Love TBP

We struggle to get good engagement from more than 10-40 people each year. | Personally, I'd like to run better events that draw in more people and attempt to get new folks involved in officer roles and committees, but we've had lackluster results for the last several years. | As a chapter that doesn't collect dues, we're very limited in the tools we have at our disposal for communicating with our members. We only have $50 in our account, and I am personally covering the cost of our annual dues to HQ each year. A mailchimp account that could enable us to reach our entire mailing list of >12k members would cost us $200-400 per month. Any other member management tools, or social media management tools are completely outside of our affordable range. I would love to see TBP HQ finding ways to offer shared services and tools that chapters could utilize in a more affordable way. | We filled all of our officer positions (including Treasurer, which went unfilled in the last two cycles). | Continue to meet minimum expectations. We could plan more activities, and try to get more people interested in participating. | Perhaps TBP could organize some activities in which all the chapters could participate. Maybe these activities could occur via Zoom. We would find it helpful if the chapters could receive some funding from TBP. We would give an accounting of what we did with the funds. | We revised our bylaws, we elected officers, we are meeting regularly, and we are beginning to have ideas for some activities for our chapter. | Our vision / goal for next year is to get more people to attend our meetings, and to have more activities for our chapter. | One practice we have is for members to meet every month, even in inclement weather because we can meet on Zoom. | I don't have any comments or items to share at this time.

This large group format is nowhere near effective as one-on-one requests. | We typically on in-person communication whenever possible. As a smaller group, this has proved by far the most effective. | No | No | N/A - not enough new officers to necessitate one | Paid dues, Participated in a certain number of events, Voted in an election, bylaws update, etc., Asked to be considered active in the chapter | 1-10 | 76 - 100% | 11-20 | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | 5-8 | 2 - Still Growing/Meets Expectations | Image/Recruitment, Quantity/quality/variety of events | Our biggest struggle has been developing a viable plan for long-term continued growth beyond where we currently are. Having largely exhausted the HQ list and all the personal contacts with our active members, we've tried to recruit new graduates more heavily by making appearances at the collegiate initiations. However, this has shown only minimal success with few graduates choosing to remain in our area of operation. | We could improve our offering of events. Most of our successful ones are fairly simple such as meeting for dinner at a restaurant. So far this has proved difficult due to tight schedules among our members and widespread hesitance to commit to more exotic events with enough prior notice to plan them. | I would appreciate a monthly newsletter from HQ with all the relevant alumni chapter business and events which may be of interest. This would help me concisely forward all this information along to members as the secretary. Since all of this currently arrives ad-hoc, I have to be careful about what I choose to forward along in order to keep communication at a reasonable level. Many of our less active members, don't pay the closest attention to a lot of chapter communications and forwarding everything would only exacerbate the problem. | Our chapter's greatest achievement this year was hitting our one-year milestone following reactivation. We managed to hit nearly all the key functions, despite being a small chapter that's widely spread out geographically. | Our goal for next year is to continue growing our membership and the associated offerings of events. | I would stress the following two things to all alumni chapters. First, focus on building personal connection between the membership, especially officers. Without it, interest almost invariably will wane, leading to major issues with continued interest and participation. Second, I would stress the importance of maintaining continuity of events, meetings, and chapter functions in general. Once broken it's far more difficult to rebuild, seriously impeding and sustained, long term growth.

This likely stems from a communication gap between collegiate and alumni chapters. Understandably, many alumni relocate for work, have shifting priorities, or are simply busy with life—which makes sustaining and building an active group difficult. We respect that everyone must do what's best for them, but we continue to send updates and reminders about upcoming events and chapter news in case their interests have changed or availability opens up. | We need a dedicated representative for each college we serve who handles communication with the president of the college chapter. Also sending regular event emails. | An officer was selected and appointed to run the chapter and bring it back to life but they didnt have time. I think if chapters go dormant its important to find people willing to do the work to bring it back not just have someone for the sake of calling it alive. | Held our first event in over a year! | Bring back our membership and provide value to our alumni community so they keep coming back.

Right now, we are also considering rerunning multiple successful events every year, like TopGolf and bowling. | Yes | Went to a Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen, set up decorations at a table, wore our apparel as officers, and chatted with visitors who stopped by our table. This was effective! (Didn't encounter any issues, but next time I may want to consider calling the restaurant in advance before setting up. Haha!) | Yes | Yes | Yes | 3-4 | 2 - Still Growing/Meets Expectations | Member Participation, Officer Participation, Communication with Members, Image/Recruitment, Quantity/quality/variety of events | Inactivity resulting in a lack of my own leadership for a few months, since I got very busy with family, important relationships, and responsibilities (and I still am to a big degree). I would also add communication with our local collegiate chapter since they seemed to start ghosting us about halfway through the year, and as a result I missed their spring initiation. However, I made connections at another collegiate chapter about 90 minutes away from us, and they loved having me over to participate in their own events! Time management will be the key to fixing this for me moving forward, but family comes first. | Consistency: in emails, in hosting events, and having a regular base of attendees. | Not sure. I feel like we have been given very sufficient resources by HQ for us to operate successfully as a chapter without too much help. But I feel like these resources could be organized better, since it was challenging for me to communicate & teach my incoming vice president what a chapter actually is and how it works. | Re-establishing the chapter from being on the verge of inactivity to having a real presence again. Even though we went dark for a few months, I'm so proud of how our small leadership team has brought this chapter! We went from 0 events and a fractured leadership team to having 3 events, double digit attendees for two of the events, and recruiting a new committed officer. | More events, and once we get an established base of attendees, establish an EIN and decide on dues. Officer team not likely to grow beyond the 3 of us anytime soon. We likely won't be able to draw a crowd for a successful members' meeting until we have a regular base of event attendees to meaningfully communicate with. Bonus: try to network to revive the Bluegrass Alumni Chapter in Lexington KY. | Keep it simple. Host events, advertise them over email blasts to all local alumni, make flyers, take & post pictures, and have a good time. :) | Slide rule, dynamo, Tau Beta Pi!!!

This increase in membership will hopefully provide us some good forward momentum to continue our growth. | Our vision for next year is to continue gaining new members and holding periodic events for our members. This will include a goal of us improving our outreach and advertising to the nearby collegiate chapters and alumni who move into the area. | We have started working with our district director to get in contact with potential members who have either just graduated or have moved into the area. This has been an excellent way to get people involved.

This is still being rolled out actively, but has been Better than Average so far, with minor accessibility issues. Prior to creating our Element server, we used WhatsApp group messages for committee communications. We still use a group text for emergency officer communications, which is effective. | Yes | Once a month | Yes | 6 | 6 | Yes | 3 | Average | N/A | N/A | N/A | Excellent | Since eligibility is limited to active membership, we solicit the active membership multiple times, both in person and via email. | In person has worked best for this, based on prior interactions in SEMIAC. If we notice someone actively attending and/or planning events, I will often discuss the prospect of appointment to a Director position before elections begin. | No | Yes | We do a "topic of the month" for each of our monthly business meetings. Our April topic was the task delegation and officer transition meeting, where we delegated regular tasks and then had outgoing and incoming officers meet in groups. | Paid dues, In bylaws, it is anyone who pays dues, which we don't currently have. This definition is currently under review, and will be proposed for an update in the bylaws after a dedicated special meeting next week. Currently we maintain a spreadsheet indicating which members are considered active for purposes of business meeting operations and elections. This sheet is regularly reviewed by the officer board. | 11-20 | 26 - 50% | More than 500 | Yes | Our Pi Day event has been our signature/regular event for a while. However, we are looking into other signature events. We've been doing a lot of Detroit building tours and have been emphasizing the Michigan Central Building - our virtual Bent. | Yes | This year, we played a jeopardy-themed trivia game, custom-built on our website, had dinner, and socializing and board games. | Yes | Yes | Yes | More than 12 | 1 - Strong Operation/Exceed Expectations | Member Participation, Communication with Members, Image/Recruitment, Collaboration with Collegiate Chapters | Image and Recruitment - specifically with the MI-Q, MI-D, and MI-H chapters, and retaining graduates from these chapters. We have an excellent collaboration relationship with MI-E and MI-I, but we are working to address the other three chapters with better support/interactions from our liaisons. We are struggling to fill these positions, as it is hard to fill these with officers from outside of the schools. Also regarding communications, the chapter was working on improving communications and transitioning to using new platforms and in the process we lost some consistency with member outreach. Now that we’ve established our website, we should be able to start a steady flow of communication again which would give our members more advance notice of our events. | The chapter needs to more quickly transition to using the website we created, but also to be more structured in conducting meetings. Sometimes more meetings are needed to get stuff done and it might be necessary since we are attempting so many new things. | Not much, our district directors have been incredibly supportive, and our director of alumni affairs has been absolutely fantastic. The work the Alumni Advisory Committee does is also quite excellent. | A very strong, robust, and diverse schedule of events which we delivered on, including attendance at all 10 chapter initiations. We also overhauled our website, and are working to centralize all operations around it. | Completion of the website, transition operations to the website, more structured meetings/events, and an increase in community-oriented (service) events. | There's a few interesting ones. - We have a Director position dedicated to each college in our geographical area as a Liaison - Our business meetings are hosted in person (with a hybrid option via zoom) and each month we have a collegiate chapter host. We give each chapter a timeslot in each meeting to discuss their chapter and collaboration opportunities. | Our chapter wishes to thank former Director Gomulinski for her years of support to the Alumni community, and welcome Director Aiton to the leadership of Tau Beta Pi. |
