By asking the people taking part in the experiment to be as accurate as possible(AKA, tell them not to prepare for each dash, and have all timers start @ roughly the same time.7This will be good. 10/5/2016Tarancolor of sharpiehow long it take to dry outget 7 different color sharpies, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and black. I will lay out the sharpies for 15 minutes and check them every minute to see when the sharpies dry out. I will do multiple tests.amount of minutes it takes for the sharpies to dry out.stopwatch or phone appThe temperature could be different each time I do my experiment.
The sharpie could be previously used and if it is previously used it could affect how long it take to dry out.
I will go to a store and buy different sharpies each time I do a test. 5Yup, that will work. You could improve on this a little by changing it from "drying out in air" to running out of ink from drawing. You would have to find a way to have each marker draw the same amount of stuff per unit time, but I think it would be really interesting to find out if there are certain colors that run out earlier than others. Oh, and as I think about this, I'm wondering how you decide when a marker is dried out -- it doesn't happen all at once, but instead it is a steady decline.

I will drink 1/4 cup of water then do a 20 yard sprint, then I will drink 1/3 of a cup then do a 20 yard sprint, but I will wait 10 minutes in between each test. I will repeat these steps with a 1/2 cup, 1 cup, then finally 2 cups of water.how fast I can run in secondsstopwatch or phone appI could put to much or too little water. The biggest source of error could be when I am timing how fast I can run. I could start or stop the timer too early or late.I will measure the water accurately and I will try and time my self correctly.4There are too many factors, other than volume of water consumed, that might influence your running time.

Come up with a list of ten words - 5 super easy ones (run, lamp, bed...) and 5 really difficult ones (effervescent, iridescent...). Recite the ten words to the person and give them 20 seconds to remember them. Then, ask them to tell you all ten words. I will look at the number of words remembered for each category - hard and easy.the ratio of hard words remembered to easy words rememberedtable or chartEach person has a different vocabulary, so one person might find all the difficult words to be really easy. I will ask each person the same list and all the people will be in the same grade. 7This will test the relationship between word complexity/familiarity and memory, not "understanding a topic".

6You've got to flesh this out even more. The experiment you propose will yield a "binary" result... "x is better than y". But the experiment should yield more complex data. I like the house-of-cards topic, but I'm wondering if there isn't something that you can do in that area that conforms a bit better to the intent of this assignment.

I would have to make the rolling surface smooth, for both the ramp, and the 5 feet afterwards. You're testing the effect that type of music has on math homework accuracy, right? Good idea, but you'll need lots of data in order to make a valid (substantiated) claim.

9/27/2016Michaelplaying video games beforetyping speedI will first take a control test by taking a bunch of test of how fast multiple people type paragraphs (with all the same amount letters). Then a couple hours later have them play the same people play the same video game for 30 minutes. After that, make them type the same paragraphs and measure how fast they type. how many seconds it takes them to write a paragraphstop watchSince the second time they already know the paragraphs they know to type and probably type faster. The video game may be not involving much typing. I will have everyone do it at the same time of day. I will have them play the same video game and the same parts of the video game. They will type the same paragraphs so that there is no difference in difficulty.5Take error into account too, not just speed. The paragraphs should be of similar complexity, but different from each other so "practice" doesn't become a psoe.

9/27/2016Williamsaying negative things to different genders what will a girl do after being said something negative to, and what will a boy do.I will get a group of 20 people, 10 boys and 10 girls, and one by one tell them the same negative thing in a controlled environment. The next day I will ask them what they did after I told them the negative thing, and see how the different genders reacted differently. Which gender got more bent out of shape more than the other. I will ask them on a scale of 1 to 10 how sad or mad they were after I told them something negative. (1 being not sad 10 being devastated) Some one may not care or care to much about the negative thing I said to them simply because of personal reasons. There is no way of knowing what a person is thinking and in an expirement like this one you need trust that the person is not lying about how sad they were to save face or other reasons. Because I am testing 20 people it is unlikely that the majority will answer the 1-10 scale untruthfully because of a reason that doesnt have to do with the experiment. Also because there are 20 people it will hopefully balance any outliers. 1/4/1900 0:00:00This will be very interesting. You'll need to clarify your dependent variable. "What will they do" is too vague.

Perhaps you should make a recording of your messages (pos and neg) and post the sound file with a link. Have kids go to their assigned link and listen to your message with headphones on. THen, have them do some task or survey or whatever you think will measure that independent variable you've defined.

9/27/2016Riannathe speed that candy melts in waterthe kind of candytake 3 different types of candy and have 20 of each. I will put one candy in each cup (3 at a time) at watch them in 20 min incriments for 3 hours and see which candy melts fastest. the time it takes for the candy to melt (in minutes)stopwatchThe candies may be different sizes or they might accidentally be moved around in the cup. It is a subjective chart and I will need something to grade it to. The time might be to long or to short. They will be the same 3 kinds of candies and the same amount of water. I will be looking at the test the same amount of time in the same incriments. 4Using 3 different TYPES of candy isn't really varying a LEVEL of something. The independent variable should be something that you can change in amount, not just type. Subtle (advanced) difference, but you can handle it, I think.

9/27/2016Nehaa color preferencewhich picture they will pick from a setfind at least 15 people. Then, print out pictures of roses that are each a different color (red, blue, yellow, green, purple, white, black, orange, pink). I will ask each person which picture they like best. Afterwards, I will ask what their favorite color is. the percentage of people that picked a picture that matches their favorite colorgraph or chartSomeone might not have a favorite color, or they might just be picking one at random. Also, if I use flowers, they might pick the prettier flower instead of picking based on the color. I will use the same pictures for each person and I will use the same type of flower for each color. 6You should do the color preference and picture picking at different times so your test subjects don't make the connection. This is a good exp't but the results seem very predictable (to me). Maybe too simple.

9/27/2016xParth Juthaniice cube shape melting time and speedI will put water in different shapes and sizes of stencils for ice cubes, putting the same amount of water in each stencil, and freeze them all for the same time. I stop the time when all the stencils are pure liquid water, with no icetimestopwatchmaybe how old the water is, or how much waters i put, but i will be putting the same amount of water.I will keep same temperature, same room, same amount of time in freezer, and same amount of water.7Ok. It would be good if you could quantify some attributes of the ice-shapes so you can make a claim about the relation between those attributes and melting rate.

9/27/2016xRiannaThe effect of the shape of the ice on the melting speed of the iceI will change the shape of the ice cube. the time it takes for it to melt (in minutes)a stopwatch The biggest source would be human error. I could miss which ice cube melts first and the chart of melting would be subjective so it might not be completely accurate. Each ice cube would have the exact same amount of water. The only difference between the ice would be the shape of the ice. They would be in the same climate and would be done at the same time so I could compare. They will all melt for the same amount of time. 6okee dokee
