REQUIRED FOR THE FULCRUM PLATFORM

This is the hidden text that is read by assistive technology (e.g. screen readers) and machine readers (e.g. search engines) to understand the image.

Alt text should provide information necessary for understanding the image/file in context for readers who cannot access the original. This may include some description or, when image is already sufficiently described in the surrounding text, simply identifying information.

Alt text should be concise (ideally 140 characters or less) and cannot contain separate paragraphs or tables.

The formal title of the object shown in the file; the title of a painting, photo, video, map, piece of music, etc. This will be displayed as the title of the object to users on the Fulcrum platform.

The title will frequently be seen in the context of other metadata (dates, creator, credit line) associated with the item, and should be brief, no more than 100 characters. Note that this is separate from the caption, which may be longer and/or more descriptive.

For titles that include italics, surround the text that should be italicized with underscores.

This field is to highlight if the digital asset only appears on Fulcrum. If Yes is selected, the asset will be flagged as exclusive and will be identified as Exclusive to Fulcrum in the Exclusivity facet.

Select Yes if the digital asset will only appear on Fulcrum.

Select No if the digital asset will appear somewhere else, e.g., in the print book, ebook, or if it has been displayed elsewhere.

Select No if the digital asset is an externally hosted resource.
A significant date or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource (that is, the photo, musical example, map, etc. not the digital file).
