The Communications Department serves as the "voice" of the district and facilitates open communication between the district and our community, staff and families to keep all parties informed. We showcase student achievement through district media and publications and support the work of other departments and schools by distributing our staff resources and knowledge to better facilitate their work.COMP Owner

Provide leadership in overall messaging and communications efforts of the districtDevelop and implement strategy around media and communications, advising the superintendent and leadership team on strategic communications and media relations on a range of issues. Develop and execute communications strategy, overseeing the district’s communication office, supporting school communication needs, supporting central office communication needs. Plan and execute public relations strategy for a range of issues. Collaborate with schools, district departments, external partners to develop and unify message for major projects and issues.Liz Merfeld

Serve as the district’s primary media contact.Provide accurate and timely information to news media and connecting media with appropriate district spokespeople. Prepare and provide support to district officials, board members and staff for media interviews and public speaking opportunities. Write and edit news releases, talking points, columns and reports.
