2
12/14/2023 11:33:09It's a reminder of how fun the Internet used to be back when it was fun. Also having subscribed since the double digits editions, it would feel weird to stop now
3
12/14/2023 11:34:50It's funny!no thanks
4
12/14/2023 12:02:54Silly websites and occasional gamesIt reminds me to check the B3ta board, which I probably wouldn’t do otherwise

6
12/14/2023 12:42:14A little bundle of joy to my inbox.Has it really been that long?
7
12/14/2023 12:43:21random and irreverant. The internet used to be interesting. I once came across a usenet group that was all about having a good sneeze. These people *really* enjoyed a good sneeze (if you get my drift). They probably thought they were freaks untill the internet connected them with like-minded individuals. Pretty weird, but innocuous enough. The trouble is the internet is now like the high street: mostly corporate. Sure, the Google search algorythm is good, but it is totally biased. I don't get random anymore, just the corporate stuff echoed back at me. Yet somehow the board users (I am just a lurker) feed the newsletter and provide links to good ol'-style-internet stuff and saves me the time spent looking for myself. So, thanks.
8
12/14/2023 12:59:55The content and the editorial tone. In both senses, true to the original board and a refreshing antidote to slickness.I miss the half-arsed Flash animations, but that’s more a lament for times and platforms passed than anything to do with the newsletter.
9
12/14/2023 13:14:23Irreverance, anarchy, and general outlook on life.Keep it coming. It is a highlight of the week/fortnight/arbitrary time period.
10
12/14/2023 13:17:41Still makes me laugh 22 years later with loads of stuff that none of my other mates would find funny. Thanks for making me feel less alone with my weird sense of humour!Cheers for keeping me company through two marriages (and one stinking divorce), two kids, numerous jobs, seven house moves... Good to know some things stay constant!
Also, one of my proudest moments is STILL when I got most votes for a QotW answer, probably about 16 years ago now, wow.
11
12/14/2023 14:03:41Funny videos and interactive games/websites, really enjoy the image challenges too
12
12/14/2023 14:08:45The irreverence pervading the newsletter as a whole. The reminder to check the website for latest comp entries (my Photoshop / video creation skills are dire but I enjoy seeing what competent people produce - especially when they make me smile or think about the. Issue. Also enjoy the links to other sites - busy working for a living so don't do much social media (so miss out on most gossip about random websites) so newsletter a good way to find out about interesting sites that would be off my radar.otherwise.
13
12/14/2023 14:21:05Links to funny websites, links to games and puzzles, fesshole.I've been reading the newsletters and popular links since I was 15 and I'm 37 now.
14
12/14/2023 14:43:32New stuffFunny
15
12/14/2023 15:04:39Always different, usually some laughs.
16
12/14/2023 15:34:08It's the right size
17
12/14/2023 15:50:53Variety and also its the same old (not helpful I know )It really took a hit when the regularity stopped and hasn't built up to the same levels again - or maybe that's just me . Thanks for all the work that goes in to it
18
12/14/2023 15:57:24I have read it for two decades and I like that it still exists. I like the links and especially the things people make. I like feeling like a part of a group of people who remember when the internet wasn't just for work and shopping. I like the subject line and the 'saving the web' line and the tone. Spectrum jokes. High standards (in that you don't just FP anything). A break from the relentless cheerfulness and positivity you get everywhere else. Ascii.I don't have anything bad to say! Thanks for all the newsletters!
19
12/14/2023 16:23:30Some good links to entertaining and amusing contentKeep up the good work
20
12/14/2023 16:52:46It’s the thing I look forward to most on the interwebsorz. Am secret sponsor yay. I like the opening quip, the format is brilliant as it hasn’t changed forever well apart from some ads and you can tell those pricks at hetbuttco or whatever the fuck they’re called that I’ve softened from “stop polluting the newsletter ya cnuts” to “I might buy some fucking jeans one day cos actually thanks for giving teh B3ta some munny”. The fesshole roundup is brilliant, and the day you stop doing the bonus one at the end - like Matthew Broderick telling us all to go home at the end of Ferris Beuller’s Day Off - will be a bad day indeed. Unfortunately we don’t have access to the sort of ordnance they do in murryca so when I say I’m gonna go postal I’ll sign a rather peeved email “Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells”.For my bonfire night we did Hamas vs IDF over the village pond. Wondering which conflict we should get cheap Facebook daily mail style rants from for new year. Every time someone complained about a firework we’d launch another one and say we would only stop when the complaints stop… people are fucking stupid.
21
12/14/2023 16:55:35find random stuff that I don't find on social media (because I don't use social media), also it's like being back in 2003 but with faster interwebsLong live b3ta! <3
22
12/14/2023 17:13:29I find some of it interesting and entertaining. There isn't enough of it though.A lot of the content is massively lefty biased. I tried adding something one time mocking something 'labour' and I got annihilated in the comments. Makes it less appealing to get involved when people aren't at least pleasant. I mean you can disagree but no need to be so awful about it.
23
12/14/2023 17:56:27random funny shit to cheer me up on a Friday afternoon
or evening
or the following Wednesday, whenever Rob remembers really
please keep doing the newsletter
24
12/14/2023 18:49:41Image compo, Fesshole, videos ( in that order )
25
12/14/2023 19:02:27Your Mum
26
12/14/2023 19:39:17That it's still going. That there are still interesting things to discover in it. I don't get to browse b3ta every day anymore so it's like highlights of the week.Keep it up please. Also are there any recordings of the b3ta radio show around?
27
12/14/2023 19:56:23It was my Friday evening relaxation after work. A cold beer and the B3ta newsletter was a great start to the weekend. It still is.I don't mind the Hebtro adverts, but they don't seem to have much in fat-fuck size last time I looked (40" + waist) If they introduced a Who Ate All The Pies collection, I would consider buying stuff.
28
12/14/2023 20:18:48Always something interesting or funny or disgusting or all of the above in every newsletter and you have some incredibly gifted contributors for your image challenges and the like. Also Fesshole remains one of the most consistently funny features on the internet.I was actually introduced to B3ta by an ex-girlfriend of mine around 10 years ago. Sadly she died this year at the incredibly young age of 49. Because of her you gained a loyal visitor to the site.
29
12/14/2023 20:27:38It's a good reminder that the fun indie web still exists, and Zuck hasn't quite killed it.
30
12/14/2023 21:01:13Nostalgia and vulgar jokesYeah, I think it's great that it's still going. It's good for filtering the great links from the dross.
31
12/14/2023 21:10:38The combination of nostalgia and new stuffBeen a lurker for 20+ years. Still love it
32
12/14/2023 21:20:46B3ta feels like it's singlehandedly keeping the very concept of the website alive. I'm not trying to blow smoke here. Twitter/Reddit for all it's benefits are in many ways killing what made the Internet the fun, weird, eccentric place it used to be. I see something I love in B3ta every week. And each creation feels like the love-child of a very specific person. Which to me always felt like the promise of the early internet. The internet wasn't always omnipresent. It was a place for weird fuckers to express themselves in niche ways. It's nice I can still visit that internet. It's good there's still a place for weird websites.
33
12/14/2023 21:32:45Silly silly humour, irony, spastication etc. - perfect. And hard to find elsewhereThat, is a question!
34
12/14/2023 22:00:52Good compilation of the beet b3ta bits, and intertubes in generalAll your base are flaaaaan
35
12/14/2023 22:27:23All the links, the fesshole, the fact it’s still going, I like the composition of it, from the one liner at the top to the bonus at the bottom you should be proud of it.I’ve quit twitter since musk took over. Would watch a YouTube of the best fessholes each week. Even with an advert.
36
12/14/2023 22:38:17The indepth discourse about today's geopolitical situation. And knob jokes.I'm quite keen on badgers. But not like that.
37
12/14/2023 23:23:23links to weird and interesting sites, and the jokesfesshole might have peaked
38
12/14/2023 23:30:14Great mix of interesting, funny, and things I never knew I wanted to know. Also a happy reminder of one of the best things from my teenage yearsI never had the talent, or access to pirated photoshop, to do any images. But I loved looking at the board and reading QOTW in the early years. B3ta has always been one of the best bits of the internet, I hope you keep it going for decades. BTW would love it if you bought back some b3ta t shirts, mine stopped fitting long ago :(
39
12/14/2023 23:38:20Fun stuff authored/curated by a human who isn't whining about something.B3ta just never die
40
12/15/2023 6:53:34Simplicity and humourN/A
41
12/15/2023 7:20:40the firehose of high quality smut that you just can't get anywhere else and probably shouldn't get here
42
12/15/2023 8:13:31I used to read it, but haven't done in years.
43
12/15/2023 8:24:37Finds the more obscure corners of the internet, which are becoming more and more rare by the day. Normally there are a few things that are funny / worth watching etc.No YOUR mum.
44
12/15/2023 8:31:39The LOLs, the roundup of the weeks posts and the ginger furhrer's general comedic bent....plus habit.Having traversed the digital landscapes for two decades, I find the B3ta newsletter to be a sublime tapestry of wit and ingenuity, a cybernetic symphony that resonates with discerning intellect. Its alchemical fusion of humor and cerebral provocations is nothing short of a digital odyssey and an intellectual pilgrimage, which I embark upon eagerly with each transmission.
45
12/15/2023 9:30:51I look out for it every weekIt used to be packed with content, and interesting finds from the internet. Not so many links anymore. Still great, just not as packed as it was...
46
12/15/2023 9:40:52It's spectacularly British, eclectic, irreverent, frequently obscene (in a good way) and almost always surprising. One of the highlights of the week, and I always miss it when it doesn't appear.
47
12/15/2023 9:49:27It's a random reminder of what was good in the world, back in the day... like I've somehow transitioned from Gen-X to Boomer and need crazy photoshops, sick confessions and the creativity of others to validate my existence.I can't fucking hummus.
48
12/15/2023 12:14:48It's funny, and a great source of entertainment, particularly if you've abandoned/reduced a lot of social media. There's something lovely about the consistency of approach when the web has changed so dramatically. There's an odd combination of nostalgia and discovery about reading the newsletter on a Friday.
49
12/15/2023 14:15:55all of it. some great link to mad sites that aint cited anywhere elsenah
50
12/15/2023 15:26:12I love all the odd things on the internet and am old enough to remember when it was mostly odd.
51
12/15/2023 16:05:04Magenta cocksSpunk
52
12/15/2023 17:11:28It's become the only reliable constant in my life. Cheap b3ta laughs are my safe space
53
12/15/2023 18:21:27I've been reading it since probably 2005. It's funny and I really enjoy the image challenges and the recaps from Fesshole now that I've deleted my Twitter account.Keep on keeping on.
54
12/15/2023 18:28:52Links to good stuff I don’t have time to find myself. And the swearing of course.Keep up the good work! And how has it been 22 years?
55
12/15/2023 18:28:54it has some good laffsi couldn't live without it

58
12/15/2023 18:36:56Fesshole but the randomness of the links both b3ta and outside are always funCarry on the good work! Love to know the numbers of people who receive this newsletter
59
12/15/2023 18:37:04The break it allows me between bouts of furious masturbation and self-loathingAnchovies are fun in fast cars.
60
12/15/2023 18:44:10It makes my day. But only my Friday.
61
12/15/2023 18:44:37I like the 'see what B3ta people have made this week except making their mums cry' headline, because coming up with a new one every week is impressive.

I like the stuff on the internet you've found so I don't have to. (Highlight this year (was it this year, Christ knows) was the guy singing WAP in the style of the B52s I literally laughed OUT LOUD.)

What else? I like Fesshole summarised. I can't follow Fesshole because I find it a bit depressing (why do people get married if they don't like each other, etc.) but I like to see 'the best ones'.

I've never posted on B3ta (I can't make the stuff people post) but I've been reading it on and off for, I dunno, nearly 20 years. It's very particular and I don't get loads of it but I enjoy what I can grasp with my old lady brain. The newletter reminds me that it exists. Which is useful.

I appreciate you Mr Manuel! And all the effort that goes into all this. Thank you.
62
12/15/2023 18:47:46Tastes of scampi fries/your mother's knickersEnjoyable silliness with occasional wowness and now my only access to Fesshole content after ditching Twitter and Meta (mastodon 🤞). One day I hope to buy something from Hebtroco.
63
12/15/2023 18:51:00Links that help get me through Friday. It's a l'il wordy. I mostly skim it for the links. Which makes me feel like I've wasted your time.
64
12/15/2023 18:51:49fesshole, but I read on twitter now
65
12/15/2023 18:52:04I like ASCII. Not a big fan of emails with images.
66
12/15/2023 19:00:00The links, and the "fesshole" pieces as I have never wished to join twitter or "X"
67
12/15/2023 19:03:32It's short and consistently has something that makes me chuckle. The links section usually has something I like and Fesshole has turned into a juggernautIt's all crap
68
12/15/2023 19:07:53The B3ta made productsThe fesses are also good
69
12/15/2023 19:24:07It’s remind mes that the beloved internet weirdos I knew are still mostly alive and still giving less of a hamsters wet fuck about being politically correct.Keep going you marvellous bastards
70
12/15/2023 19:37:55I was never a poster on b3ta back in the day but I read it all the time, and the newsletter since back then. These days is fun seeing where people are now, and it's always lovely to have a fun reminder that we've probably already experienced the best times the Internet had to offer.
71
12/15/2023 19:45:37consistency, smiles, interesting links/games and learning about the success of familiar names of B3tans from my years of lurking on the boards
72
12/15/2023 19:45:58The obvious love and sense of dread that it’s made with week in week out for decadesYou and popbitch are the real heroes
73
12/15/2023 19:56:39Funny links & games & jokes. Not vidsBloody amazing you’re still at it
74
12/15/2023 19:58:25I like the fact you appeal to the wierdos in society, it will mean that there arent enough of them for you to become mainstream. However because they are seriously loyal you will be around for ever.Yes I am wierd, so love B3ta
75
12/15/2023 19:59:11Silly and irreverent stuff
76
12/15/2023 20:03:31fess holesometimes cool videos
77
12/15/2023 20:54:41Brings levity and a giggle (occasionally something interesting) to my inbox at the end of what is invariably a steaming molten shit pile of pony turds being fired at high velocity directly into my face of a week working in hospitality in London. Been reading since the early days. Was so happy when it returned.Remember when Graham Coxon sent that joke in that one time? Ha ha ha, brilliant.
78
12/15/2023 20:57:47I liked the "we're a big production with a huge staff in b3ta towers" bit. That and the perky writing style has inspired me more than a few times in my life and I'm grateful. Also I was going through some rough times and b3ta and the newsletter really made life less hellish
79
12/15/2023 21:10:21Amazing and unexpected things from them internet
80
12/15/2023 21:24:39Somebody else finds the best of the internet so I don't have toIt's a highlight of my Friday emails. Which I suppose says something about the quality of the email I receive. Note to self: work on this.
81
12/15/2023 21:34:28Lots of interesting links mixed in with sarcy comments, and some fessholes cos I can't be arsed with TwitterI subscribed ages ago cos I'm an old bastard, then b3ta newsletters mysteriously stopped. Then they magically came back in 2021. Hurrah!
82
12/15/2023 21:57:30It's delivers lots of silly creative stuff that makes me feel good.
83
12/15/2023 21:59:25It's both nostalgic and futuristic.Comments about anything? My dog is really cute.

12/15/2023 23:35:57The variety, the wit and the no holds barred approach.Been reading regularly since 1st newsletter.
89
12/15/2023 23:48:57Rob’s wit and the fact that I don’t have to scour the interweb to find nuggets of joy.Keep on trucking’ 😉
90
12/15/2023 23:57:05I like the variety. There's stuff to watch, listen to, read, play. But most of all it gets me. It's usually subversive and doesn't take itself seriously and can be really well made or really shonky. How much time I invest in it is up to me. It's a good length aswell fnyar fnyaryour a coment
91
12/15/2023 23:57:37Nostalgia and newness, lack of sultanas
92
12/16/2023 0:02:36Longevity , humour, creativityThanks for persevering with it . I had my own weekly creative tech newsletter that started later than you, and stopped doing it around 2010 when I became increasingly depressed about the implications of the tech I was applauding...but I'm very grateful for you for digging out the lovely nuggets and continuing to make me smile.

Lots of love.

Xx
93
12/16/2023 0:07:58It's a) really good, and b) I feel like am squarely in the middle of the intended demographic, ie middle-aged UK-based geek with fond memories of NTK and other things from my 20s that are never coming back. Weekly is perfect, length is just right, mix of funny / interesting / scatology / a good game I wouldn't have otherwise found / random shit, always spot on. I will support financially again as soon as I can afford it. Even the way you have ads works well, and I fucking hate ads most of the time. I don't know how you did that, but kudos. You've been consistently doing everything right since basically forever and there was no particular need for this survey other than to give us the opportunity to say that. I hope you feel a bit more loved? You are loved. Genuinely.
94
12/16/2023 0:09:35Links to the most random stuff on the interwebs, plus signature humor. What's not to like?Don't ever stop. Make keeping the site up a condition in your wills or something.
95

12/16/2023 0:29:26I’ve been here for 21+ years. I’d even say I’m a bit Tory. But I’m here because of the creativity here. Especially new ways to tell me I’m a fucken bellend.Keep it up. I’m not especially proud of being a Tory

12/16/2023 1:09:48It's a weekly dose of fun and random stuff I wouldn't have otherwise seen, always nice when it turns up in my inbox.I originally subscribed some 20 years ago I think, it's been a bit like having a pen pal that keeps talking to me whether I like it or not and requires zero effort on my part. Perfect!

If you want to make more work yourself, a section dedicated to highlighting a few of the week's weirdest YouTube/etc videos people have found could be kinda fun
