MadelineAlfordArts and Crafts - Miscellaneous Crafts670012: Grades 6-8, Level 2 (MC)BlueHonorWhen I first looked at this, I thought you were working with wire, but after reading your card, I see that it was done with "hardened string" -- very creative!!

JasonBargerArts and Crafts - Miscellaneous Crafts670013: Grades 9-12, Level 3 (MC)BluePretty!! A good use of something that would otherwise have been thrown away!!
Did you put any kind of primer on the cardboard before you spray-painted it or put any sealant on the paint after you spray-painted it?? I ask because if you didn't, the paint will degrade the cardboard and it will fall apart... It's too late to seal it now as it would have needed to have been sealed before you added the decorations to the top of the box.
I am hopeful that you get to keep this as long as possible because you've done a nice job on it!!
Keep crafting and thanks for sharing!!

JennaBechdolSewing Construction (SC)45042: Grade 6, Non-Wearable (SC)BlueDivision ChampionXCute pillow!! I'll bet it goes with other things in your bedroom!!
I'm not sure it has enough sewing skills to qualify it for this project. I can see:
1. Make Button holes
2. Sew Ruffles
3. Use Fiberfill
And then I come up blank. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that your project does have an additional skill that I just can't see. I can't tell if you made your own pillow form I will assume you did.
If you ever make a pillow like this again, you might want to consider using MORE gathered fabric on the corners. Look at how it doesn't look as "full" as it goes around the corners.
Something else you might want to consider is using another button in between the two you have. It would just close it off a little nicer.
You've done a really nice job on this and I know you will enjoy using it!!
Keep sewing!!

ClintonBechdolWeather and Climate Science (WC)53011: Grade 3-5, Level 1 (WC)BlueDivision ChampionGrand ChampionXVery well done and informative poster.
This is a topic that I didn't learn and fully understand until college so the exhibitor having this knowledge and understanding is wonderful!
Using fruit trees to illustrate differences in hardiness zones was a good choice because they vary so greatly.
The only thing that could have made the poster better is stickers or cut-outs of the different fruits to take up some of the white space.
Fantastic!

Depending on what you put in it or use it for, you might want to think about filing down the sharp edges of the reed -- but that will depend what you are going to use it for.If you're going to put a plant in it, it won't matter, but if you were going to put something else in it, it might snag.
You did a nice job!! Thanks for sharing!!

JennaBechdolArts and Crafts - Miscellaneous Crafts670012: Grades 6-8, Level 2 (MC)BlueHonorYou have no idea how I laughed when I saw this!! It sums up how I have felt many times since COVID-19 hit!!
I like how the markings on the cat are irregular -- because that's the way markings on a cat are. I like that your cat is in the center of the frame -- it's the "star" of the show!!
When you look back at this, you will be reminded of everything that was going on when you made this.

On your craft card, you said you heated the plastic so it would harden -- did you work with the heated plastic at all to make it conform to the shape you wanted while it was heated?
It's very original and you've done a nice job from what I can tell. Keep crafting!!

JennaBechdolArts and Crafts - Miscellaneous Crafts670012: Grades 6-8, Level 2 (MC)BlueYou have done a nice job with this string art project. Did great job on your rocket. I do have some suggest that you need improvement.
-Paint is applied too heavily. Lighter coats are better. ( by the fin).
-Fingerprints, smudges or runs in the finish.
- Need to make red and black stripes look neat. ( Look like it not smooth on the fin.)
- To remove woodgrain or tube spirals, spray the entire rocket with coats of sandable primer (get it at auto part or hardware stores in the spray can). Do multiple thin coats and be sure to let the paint dry in between each coat. After each coat, using 220 grit sandpaper, sand it all off. Inspect the rocket for runs and uneven coverage and sand smooth before applying next coat. Paint will build up slowly and fill the spirals and woodgrain. Repeat the spray/sand off process until all spots are filled, resulting in a smooth finish. Don’t forget to look at joints between the body tub and fins, launch lugs, pods, other decorations, etc. as these are commonly missed places. When everything is filled-in and sm
