1) The database has 3 separate sheets. You can switch between them at the very bottom of the Excel-/Sheets-Application.
2
2) The "Guidelines" sheet explains how to use the ERASMUS/Master program database. Please read it carefully!
The "
Reviews" sheet contains opportunities reviews left by EGEAns who made their own internship experience. The "Offers" contains former or current offers.
The "
Job platforms" includes links to where you can find other job offers and opportunities. These are mostly external data bases.
3
3) Working with the database: Filtering is the easiest way to find specific data. If you use filters to find something in the database, ALWAYS DOWNLOAD the database beforehand as a local copy (select [data>save as a copy]) and work with it on your own laptop, so the layout in the cloud won't be affected! Apply your own filter via Data>Sort> (see the screenshots with in-detail instructions below).
4
4) This database is just an information platform and should not hold you back from further investigations.
5
5) The database is always evolving and made through voluntary effort.
6
6) Do not remove any opportunities or reviews from the Database.
7
7) Should you find any mistakes please let us know by e-mailing us at internship@egea.eu or sending a message via Instagram: egea_eo!
8
8) Ratings are the subjective experience of the person who participated in the opportunity and do not reflect the opinion of EGEA or the External Opportunities Team.
9
9) The database lives from the experience of EGEAns, therefore you are very welcome to help! If you would like to contribute by adding any opportunites or reviews, you can insert them yourself into the database below the other occupied cells. Please find a detailed instruction below! However, if you use filters to find something in the database, ALWAYS DOWNLOAD the database as a local copy to alter it on your own laptop, so the layout in the cloud won't be affected!
10
10) Not all master/Ph. D. programs have reviews.
11
11) If you have questions, you can always reach out to us via E-Mail internship@egea.eu or on Instagram: egea_eo!

1. Filtering: To work with the database, ALWAYS DOWNLOAD it as .xlsx and edit it on your own laptop, so the layout in the cloud won't be affected!
41
2. You can use filters, for example if you only want to look for ERASMUS in a certain country or reviews in a GIS master's program. The given example in the pictures is from the internship database, but it works the same here. Applying filters in Excel (when downloaded) and in google spread sheets works slightly different. For Excel: Option 1: In this case, go to [Data>Sort>Sort by>[choose Field of Geography from drop-down menu]>Ok] to sort the fields of geography in alphabetical order (picture 1). Option 2: You can choose [filters>press drop-down arrow in the columns title>press "sort A-Z">Ok] (picture 2). The database is now sorted after Fields of Geography. Scroll down to GIS (picture 3). For google sheets/spreadsheets: Select [data>create filter] (Picture 4). Click on the three lines that show up right to the headline of a column. Select [Sort A to Z] (Picture 5). The filter is now applied. Scroll down to GIS.

If you want to contribute by adding your own review, please read the following instructions:
70
1. Just add your information into the cells on your own. Please click into the columns titles to get access to the hints we gave, so you can enter your information accordingly to our standards.
71
2. Some cells can be edited by entering text. If you can't provide information in a cell, please enter ['-]. If you just enter [-] without the ['], Excel will make a subtraction there. But we want text only. "-" stands for "no information" .
72
3. Some cells can be edited by choosing categories from a drop-down menu (picture 6). If you want to enter information into a cell with a drop-down menu that is not fitting or more detailed than the provided options from the list, you can also insert text. For this, use the following instructions:
73
4. Select the cell (only one!) you want to edit. Select [data>data validation (Picture 7) >Clear All>Ok (Picture 8)]. The drop-down menu in your cell is now deleted and you can enter text.
74
5. Don't apply filters or edit the database's layout in it's entirety when adding your information! If needed, you can edit the layout of your own cells so it matches the layout of the already existing cells. Otherwise, just leave it like that. The EO Team checks the database regularly and will apply layout edits if needed. Otherwise, fell free to reach out to us after you contributed your information, so we can check your data directly!
75
6. Thank your for helping us by broadening EGEAns's horizons!
