HOW DOES THESPY SCORING WORK?

The rubric scores from all 3 adjudicators are averaged together for an entrant’s overall score. If an average includes a decimal, anything below .5 rounds down and above rounds up.
(Example: 17.5 or above rounds up to 18 and 17.4 or below rounds down to 17.)

NATIONAL QUALIFIERSTATE HONOREE

Entries with an overall SUPERIOR score are honored at the Washington State Thespian Festival March 20-21.

Overall SUPERIOR entries qualify to enter their Thespy at the International Thespian Festival (ITF) in June in Bloomington, Indiana.

SUPERIOR entries have the opportunity to video submit an audition (deadline: Friday January 31) if interested in performing in the Thespy Showcase at the Washington State Thespian Festival March 20.
