Research Assignment for Chapter 3: Stocks (10 points – Due: Saturday, October 5th)
5
For the Stocks to Research listed below, use the Internet or any other information sources to find the Stock Characteristics listed below. Since the information changes
6
daily, be sure to record the date or dates you did your research. As you do your information gathering, if a particular company piques your interest, follow one or more
7
of the links (News, Related companies, Sector, Industry, etc.) to learn more about the company and its competitors. It is very easy to spend hours upon hours simply
8
learning about companies that interest you. With thousands of publicly traded companies available, there is literally a lifetime of research ahead of you! I hope you
9
have fun with this assignment. If you do, that is a good sign that you may actually enjoy being an active investor. If not, then maybe sticking with mutual funds is your
10
best bet. Of course, you could do both. You could utilize prudent, long-term oriented stock mutual funds for the bulk of your investments and choose a few "hot"
11
stocks that you think will make you very wealthy. (Put the majority of your funds into the prudent, long-term oriented mutual funds, okay?)
