The original translation makes no sense, what would Wolf even be implying that Kuro should do, considering that at that moment Wolf has no idea about Immortal Severance, or really anything that would make him say "Do what must be done".u/E-Kon

I owe you. They translated 手練れ as "skilled" the 1st time we talk with him. Kind of implies that he was watching Wolf slaughter all those innocent samurai. Fitting behavior for an info broker. 狼よ、お主は言ったな

竜胤は、なにゆえ私に授けられた…
Kuro seems to misremember what Wolf told him 3 years ago at the Hirata Estate. Possibly because he was confused from the illusions, plus a long time has passed.
This line of dialogue might be why the translators got confused about Lady Butterfly's prefight cutscene.

Old Grave, 2 guards talking about Blackhat BadgerHey, you didn't see a little scoundrel come running through here, did you?
We're after one, and I'm fairly sure he came this way...
Hmm... what was he wearing?
He had a black hat on! Short little guy!
Hmm... thing is, nobody's passed this way at all.
Only thing that did looked like some kind of animal... a raccoon? Maybe a badger? Couldn't say for sure.
You sure you didn't mistake that animal for your criminal?
Oh come on... ugh. Forget it!

くっ… もうよいわっ!
Hey, did an intruder come running through here?
We're after a spy, and I'm fairly sure he came this way...
Hmm... what does he look like?
He had a black hat on! Little guy with a black hat!
Hmm... thing is, nobody's passed this way at all.
You sure you didn't mistake some animal for your "intruder"? Maybe a raccoon... or perhaps, a badger?
Ugh. Forget it!
Nowadays らっぱ means hooligan; scoundrel, but back in the Sengoku period it had a different meaning, which should have been used here. It meant spy.
"Short little guy" made me lol. I wonder if this was an intentional attempt at a funny?
The EN lines starting from "Hmm... thing is..." and ending with "criminal?" are broken up incorrectly resulting in a 4 sentence block flashing by, followed by a 1 sentence block lasting for too long.
The line "Hmm... thing is, nobody's passed this way at all. Only thing that did looked like some kind of animal..." in the EN translation explicitly states that the reporting guard saw something. There's nothing like that in the original, he's just taking a piss out of the other guard by asking if he didn't mistake an animal for a spy.

Headcanon: he knows Blackhat Badger, so didn't report him. Then smugly mocks the other guard by actually saying that he may have seen a "badger"... a Blackhat Badger.

Trapped in that room by herself... she must be so lonely...寂しかろ… 独り籠もって、寂しかろ…She must be lonely... holed up in that room by herself... she must be so lonely..."Trapped" implies she is being held in that room and can't escape. There are no such implications in the original dialogue. Not sure "holed up" is the best, though, since it may imply "hiding". こもる also has the following meaning: 一定期間社寺に泊まりこんで勤行や祈願をする。参籠する。おこもりする。But I think the common meaning is the correct one... or maybe DEEPEST LORE?!Me

Ashina Castle, Kuro, after speaking with Emma about the Mortal BladeSo the Mortal Blade will allow my blood to flow.

The Mortal Blade was never meant to be drawn.

Burning the incense may help protect you from such harm.

So the Mortal Blade will allow my blood to flow.
... Indeed
Hmm... Shall we give it a try?
The Mortal Blade had never been drawn before.
There is no knowing how it will affect you.
Shall we put it off until we burn the incense?
"As you wish" is a bit disconnected.
"The Mortal Blade was never meant to be drawn" is disconnected from the next sentence, too.
"Burning the incense may help protect you from such harm" - no, it won't.

Considering the next sentence: "Yes... If you insist, then that is what we shall do.", I wonder if my "Shall we put it off until we burn the incense?" flows well...

Which is why I have a favor to ask of you, good sir.
What is it?
What I need is a helper.
For looting battlefields.
Minor: "Looting battlefields, that's the job" doesn't flow well from the previous sentence.
While Anayama doesn't actually say "thick" in the original dialogue, he does say 一つ in relation to the helper he's asking for, which is quite rude. I don't know if using "thick" was done intentionally to show this rudeness, but it does show it pretty well.

刃を振るえるのも、あと幾度か…
その時まで、天狗は終いじゃ
The Tengu can only swing his blade but a few more times...
Until the time comes, he shall rest.
"He" in the EN translation refers to the Tengu, but because the previous sentence is about Genichiro it's best not to use "he" to avoid confusion.
He's saying that he won't go Tengu-ing people around, and instead preserve the last of his strength until he truely needs it.
