GO PROJECT SUMMER INTERNSHIP: The GO GetterThe GO Projectsummer internship is an opportunity for high school students to learn and develop leadership skills while working with GO Project students in academic and/or enrichment classes. The Summer Science ProgramSSP is an immersion into experimental science, designed to challenge and inspire talented rising seniors from around the world. Working in teams of three, participants complete a research project from beginning to end: either in Astrophysics – near-earth asteroid imaging and orbit determination – or (new in 2017) Biochemistry – fungal enzyme inhibition and drug discovery. Each team acquires its own original data and performs its own analysis. Field trips and guest speakers round out an intense 39-day schedule. SUMMER YOUTH (SYEP) The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with paid summer employment for up to six weeks in July and August. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 through Friday, March 31, 2023.Youth ages of 14 - 20 (depending on the day and month of your 21st birthday) may register for the 2023 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). You must meet income eligibility guidelines.June-August NAParticipants are selected by lottery for the program. There are many more applications than there are spots. This means that it doesn't matter how strong a candidate you, this is a very competitive program. Students applying to Summer Youth should also apply to another program for the summer. The lottery application process will be by appointment only for those selected through the lottery. Family income is required during application process.

Princeton Summer Journalism ProgramThe Princeton Summer Journalism Program (PSJP) is one of the only programs of its kind offering a free, innovative residential journalism and college prep institute for high achieving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds. Over ten days every summer, up to 40 students from across the country explore current events and world affairs through workshops and lectures led by Princeton professors, professional journalists, and alumni on campus. The summer program culminates in the publication of the Princeton Summer Journal, the student-produced newspaper. During their senior year, students are matched with a personal college adviser, who will work with them on their college admissions process. All City- VIRTUAL Moth storytelling program All City students virtually meet in Zoom once a week for 7 weeks after school. They learn the craft of storytelling, practice their own Moth stories, and share them with friends, family, and fans at a small performance. It's a chance to meet students from all over NYC, learn valuable speaking and creative skills, and be a part of the magic that is The Moth! Zuckerman Institute Brain Research Apprenticeships in New York at ColumbiaThrough the BRAINYAC program, high school students are matched with and mentored by scientists at the neuroscience laboratories at one of the most prestigious research universities in the country. The program is open to 10th- and 11th-grade students from partner schools and programs in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx.
