First time setup:

Go to the extensions menu & set an API key (We recommend OpenRouter which allows you to use any AI model)

Go to the extensions menu & set your SheetMagic license key - you can get your license key from https://sheetmagic.ai/account

After both of those are set, you can use any of the functions in SheetMagic!

Any time you want to use SheetMagic on a Google Sheet, go to Extensions -> SheetMagic -> Use SheetMagic on this Sheet

Common issuesSolution

The formulas keep reloading when I add a column or reload the sheet later.After you get a response from AI, copy & paste as values (ctrl+shift+v or cmd+shift+v). We keep the function available so you can still edit it if the response isn't right, but after you get a good response, always paste as values.

I get #ERROR execution timeout.Open the SheetMagic sidebar and enable SAFE MODE. This will reduce errors, cache responses, and bypasses the timeout execution error you get from Google Sheets.

I get a #NAME? error.Go to extensions and click "Use SheetMagic on this Sheet" to load SheetMagic, otherwise your Google sheet won't recognize custom functions. Also try refreshing the page.

I get a "Formula Parse Error"You're likely outside the USA. Some other countries don't use a comma as a delimiter and use a semicolon instead, so you may need to write your functions as =aitext("Analyze this data"; A2)

I can't choose models other than GPT4o MiniYou likely do not have the version of SheetMagic that allows for all AI models. If you want to add it to your plan, go here: https://sheetmagic.ai/addonClick here to upgrade https://sheetmagic.ai/addon

I bought a version of SheetMagic with GPT-4 Access, but still can't choose it.Try refreshing the page and adding your SheetMagic license key again. If you still don't have access after that, please reach out to support and we will get you sorted!
