Digital Household Booklet - Easily Track your ExpensesπŸ’°
2
Thank you so much for downloading this spreadsheet!😊 Get started by reading the walkthrough below.
3
4
πŸ’Έ Non-fixed Expenses:
5
πŸ“ Go to "Non-fixed categories" tab. Write out categories to cover all your non-fixed expenses. When you track expenses in the monthly tabs, you'll automatically be able to choose from one of these categories in the dropdowns, e.g. in "jan" column E.
6
7
8
πŸ’° Income:
9
πŸ“ Go to "Overview" tab: In column A, write the name of your income, e.g. "Salary". Write your income in the adjacent fields.
10
πŸ“ Values in column B will automatically be copied in columns to the right. If your income fluctuates per month, simply overwrite the field in that month.
11
12
πŸ†• Are you freelancing? Track your project income and invoicing separately on the tab "Freelancing."
13
14
πŸ’² Fixed Expenses:
15
πŸ“ In "Overview" tab: We only need to set up the fixed, monthly recurring expenses here once. List out ALL fixed and monthly recurring expenses you may have in fields A10 to A27. This can be: rent, utilities, internet, insurances, software subscriptions e.g. Netflix, HBO.
Need more space? Click on the little triangles on row 21 and 28. A few more rows will appear.
16
17
18
πŸ“ Now fill out the fixed monthly expense in column B in field B10 to B27.
19
πŸ†• List all expenses that are recurring, but only 1x per year, or bi-monthly, or tri-monthly separately on the 'Subscription plans' tab.
20
21
πŸ€“ Spending budgets per month:
22
πŸ“ In the "Overview" tab: For every month there's a column called "Budget". Here you can set a budget for your non-fixed monthly expenses.
23
Just write any number you want to stick to for that category.
24
πŸ“The column "Diff." right next to it will turn either red or green automatically depending on whether your spending is within budget.
25
26
πŸ’š Planned savings:
27
πŸ“ On the "Overview" tab: In row 52 you see fields with "Actual", "Planned", and "Goal met". Underneath each "Planned" field per month, write out how much you'd like to save. The spreadsheet calculates your actual savings, and if you meet your goal or not. If so, you'll see a "yes". If not, you'll see "no".

32
πŸ”’ Number formats:
33
πŸ“ Want a different date format in the monthly tabs? Per monthly tab (e.g. "jan), select column A. In the menu bar, click "Format" > "Number" > and choose your preferred format. Repeat for the other tabs. Don't immediately see your preferred format? Click on "More formats" at the botton for more options.
