Biola University13800 Biola AvenueLa MiradaCA90639U.S.Julie EllisHead of Access Servicesjulie.ellis@biola.edu562-944-0351 x 5604Faculty from Talbot School of Theology helped to create "Top Picks" lists of biblical commentaries. Copies of these lists are available at the Reference Desk in the Library: Old Testament Commentaries Top Picks (PDF) and New Testament Commentaries Top Picks (PDF). Some commentaries are in ebook format, but most commentaries in the library collection are still in print format. The majority of the commentaries in print format may be found in the Reference Collection. In addition, you will find some commentaries in the circulating collections, which can be checked out. The location of each commentary may be found in the Library Catalog.English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, The Archives collections include materials concerning the history of the following organizations: The Bible Institute of Los Angeles / Biola College / Biola University. The archives collections primarily contain materials concerning Biola's history, including: 1) Arizona Bible Institute, 2) The Church of the Open Door, 3) Hunan Bible Institute (Hunan Province, China) and 4) Christian Comics collection. Graduate/Doctoral StudentsWhen a patron from one of the ATLA Reciprocal Borrowing institutions comes to the Biola University Library and wants check out privileges, s/he must have current picture ID and verification of their graduate student status at their institution. As there is no standard authorization form available at this time, each participating library may verify the student’s current status in a variety of ways, such as a form, email, etc. The student may also verify current status by logging into their student online account. If a patron is not able to verify current graduate student status (and it is their first time visiting the library) they may 1) enter the library as a guest, and will be asked to bring verification at the time of their next visit; or, 2) the reciprocal library may be contacted for the information via phone call or email. If the patron is already entered in the library Guest Database (second visit), and no verification of graduate student status has been provided, the patron may pay for a Community Card in order to use Biola library. (See additional information on the library website: The patron may be tentatively approved by Julie Ellis, Head of Access Services. 2/21/2017

Concordia Lutheran Seminary7040 Ada BoulevardEdmontonABT5B 4E3CanadaAnna YangLibrary Technicianlibrary@concordiasem.ab.ca780-474-1468Our library seeks to help its patrons serve the church in pastoral ministry, in other forms of professional church work, and as laypeople. In support of these goals, our library provides works in all areas of theology related to the text tradition of Lutheranism, and significant works from other traditions, both current and historically significant. A minor focus is the history of Lutheranism, especially in western Canada. In addition to the main collection, we offer two special collections: Parish materials (useful for congregational ministry) and foreign-language materials (especially German, in support of the text tradition of Lutheranism).
