6	Middle River Regional Jail	1	The appolicant must have a thick skin and capable to be present in a raw and sometimes harsh environment. There will be opportunities to observe both graduate and undergraduate-level clinical work. The incumbent will be able to see the full spectrum of the DSM as well as a wide variety of clinical interactions. These may include actively psychotic/suicidal inmates, court-ordered evaluations, and more normative supportive interactions.
7	HRCSB (Children's Case Management )	2	Shadow and assist children's mental health case managers in day-to-day responsibilities.
8	Rockingham/Harrisonburg ASAP (Alcohol Safety Action Program)	2	The intern will work closely with one of our Case Managers assisting in the intake process and supervision of offenders on probation with our office. They will have an opportunity to go to both general district and circuit court.
9	JMU Counseling Center	0 (not sure)
10	Central Shenandoah Valley Office on Youth	1	Will assist with existing programs, such as Personal Responsibility Education Programming, Family Services (parenting), Juvenile Crime Control, Truancy Prevention, Outreach and Safe Routes to School/biking safety. They will also potentially be given specific projects to manage - updating resources, calling parents for classes, and participating in community events.
11	JMU School of Professional and Continuing Education - Adult Degree Program	1	Objectives 1. Learn about the role and responsibilities of academic programming for non-traditional students in higher education. 2. Understand and demonstrate best practices for peer advising with non-traditional students. 3. Assist with academic advising and student retention. 4. Articulate the concepts, values and competencies of advising and the connections to psychology as a field of study. 5. Assist with data collection and reports related to student success.
12	Lacey Spring Elementary School	1	At Lacey Spring Elementary, field placement interns will receive an authentic perspective of what it's like to be a professional school counselor and to manage a comprehensive school counseling program. Responsibilities include being open to learning and having a commitment to personal growth. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow the site supervisor through the delivery of direct and indirect counseling services for elementary students.
13	Victim Witness Program	1	• Providing information about the criminal justice process to crime victims • Providing referral services • Managing crisis calls & contacts • Conducting research and gathering literature on victim assistance • Collecting & reporting data regarding victims of crime • Providing advocacy & courtroom assistance to crime victims • Courtroom observation
14	Western State Hospital	1	Observing and participating in group therapy, competency restoration, and treatment team meetings. Evaluation of mental status. Review of psycholegal information.
15	IIHHS Community Health Education	1	This site placement includes work for several programs that fall under the Community Health Education department. This placement will include work for SexEdVA, a grant funded program that provides adolescent sexual health and relationship education at schools and community based sites in the Shenandoah Valley. This placement will also include work with the Community Health Worker Training and Technical Assistance program that provides certification training for Community Health Workers.
16	Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community	1	Students will work closely with the Life Enrichment Manager, attending care plan meetings, completing interviews with new residents, data entry, prep work for upcoming programs as well as assisting residents with getting to and from various events. This is primarily an administrative role with a good bit of resident interaction.
17	Smithland Elementary School	1	Observe and operate like a professional school counselor- individual and small group counseling lessons and classroom counseling lessons on a variety of social and emotional learning skills
18	Community Counseling Center	2	Interns help with our supervised visitation program, supervising visitations between children and non-custodial parents who are usually court-involved. Interns also help with administrative and clerical duties such as answering phones and taking payments at the front desk. Interns have helped with related tasks such as fundraising, social media projects, and networking as well.
19	Sentara Hospice	2	We try to give each student the experience volunteering with 2 patients each. Allowing them to understand different aspects of Alzheimer's, Pre-grief, Bereavement, selfcare and compassion fatigue. Having 2 patients will give them experience with documentation of patient visits. Additionally, each student will have 2 hours a week in the Hospice assisting with administrative duties and projects.
20	VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment Pediatric ABA Services	2	learn basic principles of ABA and implement programs with a client. Develop a project in collaboration with site supervisor that benefits the department (e.g. staff reinforcement system, improving assessment materials)
21	Collins Center & Child Advocacy Center	1	Mostly administrative (answering phones, filing, data entry), social media assistance (design in Canva), participation in staff meetings, assistance with prevention programming, and other duties as needed. We also hold our annual fundraiser in the Spring, so we will need assistance with planning and outreach.
22	FairField Center	2	Case Management (primary function): Detail Mgt and Case Oversight: Creating electronic and paper files, documenting calls and activities, coordinating with staff, mediators, clients, and the Courts. Intake and Screening Interviews: May be by telephone, in-person, or electronic mediums. Gather relevant information from potential clients, explain mediation process, and assess appropriateness for mediation. Scheduling: match times clients are available for mediation with appropriately qualified mediators and observers; complete reminder calls and emails. Reschedule as necessary. Preparation: place forms in case file; assign case to mediation room; check mediation room for condition and necessary materials, send video conference links as necessary, greet mediators and clients when they arrive. Followup: reschedule appropriate cases, contact clients for followup on agreements status, and file cases. Demographic and other Recording: maintain the details of case events by entering and updating data into computer and communicating with co-workers, staff, mediators, clients, and the Courts. Court Services: attend Court as needed, complete court reports, complete billing and invoicing. Support Services: answer and respond to phone calls, be familiar with the other FairField services the center provides, restock forms as necessary, other office duties as necessary. Mediation Training and Participation: participate in trainings, role plays, attend mediations as an observer or comediator during mediation sessions when appropriate. Center Representation: observe or participate in mediation services staff, full staff, and board meetings, represent the FairField Center at community meetings, and speak to groups/organizations regarding FairField services.
23	Ottobine Elmentary School	1	Intern would participate in all areas of student life serving along side school counselor. These responsibilities include but are not limited to morning breakfast duty, classroom and student check ins, individual and small group counseling as well as whole group classroom teaching on Virginia SOL's for Social Emotional Learning.
