Publishing & Open AccessBy far the most important factor for faculty deciding where to publish is journal reputation. Also important are online availability, being published by a scholarly society, and timeliness of publication. Factors such as retaining copyright, open access, and library availability and cost are much less important.Create a library web page devoted to faculty publication and open access; make it fairly prominent on website. Lead with what most interests them -- how to learn about journal reputation -- impact factor, etc. (but make sure to show complexity of ranking journals).
