I think training on the SonoranCAD & Sonoran Radio could be very beneficial to the community. Videos would be a great addition to the current materials.

YesMainly the fact that you have to be a certain rank to do certain things as well as not being able to rp as another department without joining them first. I think the civilian population is fairly low at given times so I think it would be beneficial if first responder departments were granted x amount of hours to rp as a civ without having to use a reserve or requirement for activity

7/28/2022 10:25:08LSPDLSPD, BCSO, Comms, CivMore than two years6The scenes have been starting to decrease and I have been losing interest within the community. It’s the same old thing, over and over again and it just gets bored. The updates with vehicles are cool, but you have to wait a long time to reach a certain rank to obtain them, and not everyone has the chance to use them as they don’t go for CoC position, or they simply are having a hard time obtaining CoC. The community in general, I’ve been seeing some toxicity. Everyone seems to be very power hungry and there’s limited respect while in game. I also think the community is a little corrupt. You report an admin, it doesn’t really go anywhere. HA needs to take more serious action on these kind of things so that it is a fun server. 3Scenario basedDoesnt matterStated above

7/28/2022 10:27:36BCSOCivMore than two years8Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with mainly my department and the members within. I think the decline has been in the community as a whole and the quality of members that are being accepted into DoJ. When I first joined, it was very tough to even pass the interview into the community. It seems as we have grown and changed, we’ve become more afraid of hurting feelings and saying no than ensuring quality members are accepted. DoJ used to preach that we were the best of the best and only accepted top notch members, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. 2Scenario basedNoMy main concern which I share with others is that, instead of doing what is best for the community and the member base as a whole, we do things that make us look interesting to the outside. Just like a job, if more time was spent focusing on member retainment and less time on looking “cool” on YouTube and Twitch, the members would come and stay.

7/28/2022 10:27:59BCSOLSFD, CommsOver a year6Community used to be the talk of every rp based place now it’s declined there no movement anywhere you get to the highest rank in your dept before sit and you stay there for months on months it seems that if you’re not dedicating 70+ hours you will not be promoted. Everything is also a secret no one can talk about things an example is why the servers were down for so long. The requirements for all the depts is starting to become tiresome and this feels more like a job rather than a game. At the end of the day people are becoming more and more sensitive to things and seem to forget this is just a game and will not matter if it didn’t exist tomorrow.3
Haven't patrolled in the life based server
NoBe more transparent. There’s no need for sit+ to hide things from the regular members considering we make up more of the community than sit+. Without us you do not have a community also it’s felt like lately sit+ is looking for any tiny reason to issue a DA. While yes sometimes it is necessary but I do not believe that every da or doc or even discussion needs to happen the way it happens you cannot have a simple conversation about something you disagree with if it pertains to something a staff member said. They always have to be right and that also goes with the membership they feel they always have to be right. We’re all here to play a game and have fun I don’t get anything for playing in this community I should be treated fairly and be able to voice my opinions just as much as anyone else.

7/28/2022 10:28:13BCSONoLess than 6 months8I think the community is awesome and the devs are awesome the community is awesome the staff is awesome everybody is cool just one thing I don’t like is how the civilian play is as of late. Whenever I’m in server it’s more then always civs doing a handful of things. Running from Cops in stupid fast cars that we can never catch, never giving LEO any leads into investigations always saying “this place Dosent have CCTV, or you don’t get a scent from the vehicle I was just sitting in. No shell casing found, no prints in vehicle, clerk Dosent let you watch cctv.” It’s only a handful of things and it’s reptitive and boring, civs do rp with each other but hardly with LEO. And the civs that do mix it up and do realistic calls are awesome and I love doing calls like that, they just hardly happen.4Scenario basedNoI don’t have any concerns except for what I stayed earlier. Civ players need to understand that when LEO are investigation you can’t just say no to anything. N/A
26
7/28/2022 10:28:24SAHPCivMore than two years6As of recently, patrolling just feels like more of a chore than a way to have fun. Almost always, there is one production server going with a full LEO group, and good amount of civs, and a queue that would take at minimum an hour, but more likely closer to two.3
Scenario based, Haven't patrolled in the life based server
YesAs stated previously, getting into a server with a decent amount of civs as LEO, has just become a pain. Personally, I feel that the civ group never hits its cap in production servers, and that some of those spaces could be given up to the LEO group, to hopefully allow for easier entrance to the server. That or an increased server slot, with a larger LEO group. The issue that I run into the most is that when I want to patrol, the queues for the servers with a good amount of civs are outrageously long. And any servers without a full LEO group, or long queue, almost never have an amount of civs that make you think you’re going to have an actual interaction in server. Unless you time it right, and jump in server right before it fills up, it’s almost impossible to get into a server with decent civs. I don’t believe the new uncapped queue bot is the issue here though. As I said before, civ limits are almost never hit. Lowering the limit for civs would allow for more LEO spots, and potentially, if these civ groups were to fill with a lower limit, civs would then have to join another server, and it would populate with civs to a point where you feel you have a good chance at catching an interaction.

7/28/2022 10:28:52SAHPLSPD, Civ6 months to a year6I honestly hate sonoran CAD. It takes away alot of access from Civ making it impossible for us to get on and roleplay without LEO finding something wrong with our CAD Profile and towing our cars or something like that. I also dont want to sit around for hours setting up cars because all the info has to go in manually and same with licenses and the CAD profile all together. I respect the people over at Sonoran working countless hours providing a good service but the CAD in my opinion does not go good for DOJ mainly just with the way it is currently set up. I know how the CAD works and I know it can be customized to our standards but its currently set like that. Also Civ Staff is playing big role in making this CAD impossible to work with because they are inconsistent, when on as LEO I see people even Civ Staff with licenses with 3 years expiration date but whenever I submit one for that long it get denies like what the fuck???3Scenario basedNo

7/28/2022 10:29:12LSPDSAHP, CivOver a year7DOJRP has gone downhill lately. In my opinion it's because of a lot of some of the outdated rules and regulations. Certain staff is too DA hungry. And just in general it seems to be harder to actually enjoy playing lately. 4
Scenario based, Life based
YesMy main concerns is that a lot of the rules need to be re looked at. An example is the clique rule and the offroading policy. They are outdated and pointless.

Not being in a so called "clique" is impossible because its just human nature. And making it so that you can get in trouble for effectively just having friends to RP with makes it so that people get limited.

The offroading policy also needs to either be updated or entirely just removed. In real life police cars will follow suspects up trails and offroad. In DOJ we have SUVs and offroad specs (DPS8) for a reason, and not being able to use them properly is a hinderence.

Another issue from the Civ side is the fact that it gets too DA hungry.
I know a lot of people, including myself kinda just get sick of going civ because most of the time as soon as you do anything, that is even slightly close to breaking a policy or rule, you'll just get insta staffed and then either 90d or 93d. It makes it so that civs just don't want to RP anymore because they know they will just get DAd if they turn a corner wrong (not in actuality but it's what it feels like to a lot of people). This needs to be addressed because it just feels like there are a lot of staff that don't want people having fun.

In the end of the day I get it, rules are rules. But this is also still a video game in the end, we should have fun. Not have to deal with getting in trouble all the time.

7/28/2022 10:30:49BCSOSAHP, LSFDOver a year7It’s almost impossible to get in servers, much less get patrols started in another server. I’ve waited 1-2 hours in queue just to get in server and that takes away from patrol time & hours. Statewide patrols are just Los Santos Patrols because all Civilians just stay in the city with 1-2 Civs in the county so RP isn’t always the greatest for Blaine County Units. It’s a video game but the lower level promotion requirements aren’t competitive, they are just strict. I know guys that work full time jobs, with kids and even a second job but they put in 15-20 hours per month and still get passed up. That’s how you lose members. 3

NoServer Quality. Go back to multiple 32 or 48 slot servers so people have higher chances of RP. Cuts down on queue times.

7/28/2022 10:31:14CivBCSO, SAHPOver a year8There are parts of the community that are amazing and then things that aren’t. There is sometimes a disconnect with admins and other members. I understand some things need to be secretive but it seems like there is sometimes no transparency. Like the past obstacles with the servers being down. All the rumors going around could have been squashed if there was a little more transparency. 4Scenario basedYesI feel we are trying to move towards life RP, I feel that’s going to push more people away if we continue that. Also as a staff member I would like to see a stronger push from administration to help reduce the petty complaints that are given. A civ with no aop in their name can just be a quick dm to a civ sit+ on discord rather than a ping and then everyone has a discussion about it. All that, I still love this community and will continue to contribute and do my best.

YesI have a lot of concerns with the community. One of the largest concerns is Media Senior Staff Brandon V. 4M-4. Brandon has not only been recorded making transphobic comments, but has also DM'd trans members gifs of transformers. Aside from this, though, he CONSTANTLY breaks guidelines and talks to people like they're a steaming pile of shit. If any other Senior Staff member did this, they'd be terminated on the spot. The fact that he's even able to retain the rank of Senior Staff blows my mind. He needs to be yeeted.

7/28/2022 10:32:24SAHPLSFDMore than two years7I feel like it is very hard to get appreciated and thanked in this community. I understand there are alot of members in DOJ but there are only a small handful that go above and beyond but never seem to appreciated/praised or rewarded for that. I have been a member for very nearly 3 years and it has always been the same. It is very hard to push for a promotion and when you do you miss requirements by 1 or 2 points and then your automatically failed instead of them looking at your tenur, experience and overall committment to DOJ. It is almost like once you fail an exam or interview for something you are auto forgot about. 3Life basedYesI think there needs to be more of a push for incidents that are very hard to come across. There are alot of subdivisions out there that barely get 1 activation a month across the whole sub. There should be some things in place for civilians while we are operating a scenario based RP server that allows for us subs who do not get many activations more calls or have it where we can expand our scopes of practise so we are able to do things on a proactive basis without getting backlash from supervisors or administration.

7/28/2022 10:32:48BCSOLSPD, CivMore than two years2Civilians metagame on a daily basis and act unrealistic as to how they should. They rarely create realistic scenarios. My time in Server Y was the most I've ever enjoyed this community, but it's not a viable option in this community due to the community's obsession with Teamspeak, countless policies, structures and SOPs which break the fluidity of Life RP. 1Life basedYesMy main concern is with a member of HA who seems hellbent on using Admin perms to interfere with others RP and abuse the F6 menu to use servers like it's a playground. How many times have we seen A10s, UFOs and the USS Enterprise strafe Sandy Shores? If any member were to do that they would be banned for being unfit for the community. Also, on the topic of donations - I donated over $40 to the community and received none of the perks listed with this like tags or anything, nothing at all from HA to show that it's been used on anything - if anything we've had servers down for more time since, which just doesn't make sense.

We need a major shift from our current obsession with staff rooms, policy violations and need to learn how to just have fun. Reintroduce the discord ban, HEAVILY restrict the F6 menu, bring in Server Y and take examples from other communities. This is why retention is so low, they must be doing something right. Time to wake up a bit.

7/28/2022 10:33:25LSFDBCSO, SAHP6 months to a year8I've rated it a 8/10, simply because of the lack of training with medical scenes that Civilians get during their training. I've suggested multiple times to the FTO Dept, to have a bit more involved within the medical aspect during the training, and seems to have just sunk majorly downhill. We have civilians that have no clue what they're doing, or how to set things correctly, to where scenes take an extensive amount of time, having to use text chat explaining to them how to utilize certain features that realistically help the EMS on scene know what's wrong with the civilian. Overall besides that, I've enjoyed my time here in the past 11 months. The level of professionalism we have, the quality of roleplay majority of the time(when we don't get /me dead RP), it's been a journey that I look forward to seeing what comes next.4
Scenario based, Haven't patrolled in the life based server
Doesnt matterHonestly, the most thing I'd have to say is information that gets held back from the member base. There's things that get changed, and a lot of posts on the websites forums get made about it, and it's always said "We don't even know" from SiT up to Admins, and then rumors begin to spread, etc,. So, I feel a little bit more transparency within the members, could potentially solve the issue. Granted, some things aren't public knowledge within the community, but small things that get announced, with no explanation of as to why, kinda makes it where the members feel left out of things, especially since we're here to have fun, and if we feel our opinions aren't relevant, then we won't really be able to have the fun that we wish to endure here.

YesYes, I believe that there are simply too many 90s and 93s handed out. Staff will hand out a 90 over the smallest incident, even if you didn’t purposefully do something wrong. A 90 means you miss an entire months, sometimes 2 months, promotion cycle.

7/28/2022 10:34:04BCSONoOver a year7For the most part I enjoy the community, but there are times when double standards are present and some individuals have been treated unfairly. I know some who have left and their reasons for doing so and I can't fault them for it. I commend the community's effort to be inclusive and not discriminate, however, particularly during the month of June, it seemed the pendulum of discrimination swung the other way. As a straight male, I did feel out of place and considered leaving the community myself for a time.4

NoThe main thing is equal application of the rules and policies regardless of rank, dept, or who anyone knows. If standards are not upheld across the board, what's the point in having them? Since I've expressed my criticisms, I do want to express some appreciation. Overall I have enjoyed my time within DoJ, and moving up through the ranks. I would like to see it continue to grow and improve over time. Surveys like this I think are a good way to help move in that direction.

7/28/2022 10:34:54SAHPLSFD, CommsMore than two years5RP Quality has significantly declined since I joined just over two years ago and I feel it is though that civs no longer have reasoning behind their rp scenes, they just do them for the fuck of it with no care for the repercussions. It is said that there must be fear for their lives, and that they must have reasoning for scenes but there seldom is and it is never enforced. Civilians are also told they must not FRP, yet when they crash it's always "22, desync" and it is from the same people over and over again. The civilian department is so shut away from the rest of the community it seems. Now forgive me, I just began with civ- now for law enforcement. It seems as though there is an ongoing war between LE departments getting each other in trouble for the stupidest, most petty things. Between SAHP and LSPD pulling something straight out of the cold war era making policies to attack one another and then responding through further policy changes. There also is units failing to properly roleplay their crashes, making reasoning as to oh civs never do so why should I, which is absolutely improper reasoning yet it still happens. These are personally just some of the few issues that come to mind mind while filling out this form- but please. Let's have the FTO Department do better when recruiting and just because they like someone, truly look at their responses and determine whether or not they are going to be a good fit. While, yes, we need more members, we need quality>quantity. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk3Life basedYesSonoran radio I'm iffy on, but the MDT/CAD I do like very much with one issue- the Livemap sucks so bad to use, it is damn near impossible for me to use without lagging my computer to hell and back.

Scenario based, Haven't patrolled in the life based server
Noi feel server X harms DOJ as a whole and have felt this way for a long time, myself and many of my friends all believe that server X takes away from the production servers but it also results in poor RP quality and constant priorities in server x which is no longer where doj likes to stand.I feel the decline is that most new ppl in 5M prefer life based, there are a lot of smaller scenario based communities that get u staff more quickly, and we had that big drop when ORP ppl left and ppl left for other communities, NOPIXEL has also been on the rise drawing more ppl to that and PGN has been gaining MCUH attention as well which is rather entertaining to watch but I am unable to tell if it is life or scenario based. That said NOPIXEL and PGN both have more menus and scripts than doj allowing their members more RP capabilities for example PGN has a menu script that allows them to flip vehicles, cause blood trails, spawn objects, remove map objects, and MUCH MUCH more. and well i am sure anyone reading this would be familiar with the NOPIXEL scripts so i wont go into detail with that. That all said I much prefer DOJ and despise life RP which is why i am not in a LIFE based community but I do believe adding in some addition scripts especially menus so players can further enhance their RP and scenes would be a good idea so that we can do more with our scenes and make them more crazy - check out jmwfilms or progamerdude for PGN scripts as they are some of the directors/owners there i think. That community has really good scripts for RPing

7/28/2022 10:36:13SAHPCivMore than two years6Coming from a LEO/civ point of view. I see a decline in civs and civ interaction. Civs don’t create more elaborate scenes. They seem to only create a few bank robbery calls because any other ideas outside of the box which isn’t allowed per civ SOP. Civs SOP restricts RP to only allow certain RP. Also civ COC is “petty” in their DA history which civ members restrict their RP to not get DA. I do think civ need to look into their AOP due to civs being grouped and or in certain areas of the game. This is also a problem with LEO but when civs spread out creating calls, LEO will follow. I would also like to add that the penal code needs updating explaining that misdemeanor crimes don’t need to be arrested on. Most misdemeanor crimes are a cite and release or book and release. This would allow further RP and slow LEO down on calls. LEO seem to find the fastest way to end calls which includes finding a crime and ending the scene by arresting that said person. This is really frustrating as civ point of view and would like to see LEO slow down on calls.

I would like to see expanding server 1 to more Leo and civs in server to make it a full time state wide but taking another server offline. This would have two production servers and X and Y. I think this would allow more RP in server if we opened it up. Another idea is lower LEO in server to 20 so we can keep spread out even within AOP.

I’d also like to see judicial services reworked and active. Currently warrants are not getting handled and we need to look at how to change that. I currently believe staff members should be able to look at warrants to approve. This is something that would assist Judical Services and also help the community.
1Scenario basedYesReference above first statement.

Currently we’ve been having in game CAD issues which is troubling and needs a work around to fix.

7/28/2022 10:36:19SAHPLSPD, Comms, CivOver a year7It's a fantastic community by all means, and it provides some amazing fun as well. I've never had too many issues at all with others or the community in general but DoJ has it's issues, but that's to be expected with something so large. 4Scenario basedNoI know it's hard but I still think the fact that at the end of the day this is just a game, it is by no means a job and should be enjoyable. I'd personally say there is a few changes needed to support this further. It shouldn't be ridiculously hard to just do something you want to do within the community whether that be joining a subdivision, getting a cert, aiming for a CoC position. Some areas of the community are comparable to real life in their application processes/selection processes, but once again - this isn't real and we shouldn't have people being put off or just trying ridiculously hard (as you would IRL) in order to have some fun or just progress. These comments really aren't any specific rant from me, more of what I have seen from others in the community, with some additional things I have found to be apparent. People over the years (as well as at present) have joined DoJ thinking that they are signing up for a scenario based community, but then they get in and that aspect of the community is fading fast. Server Y being brought in I think is a good idea, as if you want to do Life RP then you can, however Life RP has been 'leaking' into the other servers, especially X. More and more frequently I'm seeing Civs and LEO's carrying out life stories and essentially full on Life RP, within Server X and on occasion, the production servers as well. One last thing, I don't see too much point in Civs all RP'ing together and there being 26 LEO all of which have no scenes to attend because all of the Civs are doing RP together in one place.

7/28/2022 10:37:51SAHPNoLess than 6 months6There are plenty of issues with the community, one of the most pertinent being that Department-based turf wars lead to less satisfaction on all fronts. After news of the recent HP PD patrol zone changes, I don't know anyone who wasn't infuriated that the only zone we have dedicated to ourselves was given as a primary patrol zone to another department. Also, some processes in the community run extraordinarily slow, for example, BACO training for new recruits takes multiple weeks to even get a training announced. Civilian spread is also an issue, if there are two servers with First Responder channels filled, one will have say 9 civs and the next has 4.4
Haven't patrolled in the life based server
YesI believe that departments shouldn't get a say in where they patrol, but rather the community as a whole. The fact that a department other than highway can have a petition to be able to patrol on highways and have that pass through departmental CoC and become community "law" is ridiculous.I believe a guide to common problems that people can face with Sonoran CAD should have videos made to solve them and have them put on the forum (Ex: Radio Freq. changing with the Dispatch UI, Location in the MDT not automatically updating, etc.)

7/28/2022 10:38:03DevCivMore than two years8I am overall satisfied within the community since I mainly do dev work instead of patroling.
That is happening because I think we apply to many rules and we forget that this is a game.
3Life basedNoMy only concern so far is the following: all departments are focused on their own and discussions start rising with dramas.
I feel like departments should change their thinking of.. not focusing on the said department but more on the community as a whole.

7/28/2022 10:38:34SAHPNoOver a year5Changes that were made for the better actually worsened the community. The quality of RP has declined tremendously since the beginning of Server X. In my opinion, allowing anyone to be a civilian is a good idea. But, the way it was handled in Server X allowed for people to simply do what they wanted (to a limit, of course) without being punished severely (being put on the no-civ list). This created a downfall in quality of RP, because everyone could just do what they wanted to without training or experience. Should I mention the probationary or LEO-civilians that run from cops at 100+ mph, and when they stop, they "didn't see us," after we were clearly behind them with our lights and sirens on?

The switch to Sonoran everything ruined the vibe that this is a private, exclusive community. DoJ CAD felt authentic, looked and worked great, and most importantly made us unique. Same for DoJ Radio and SCNP25, which were both great radio systems..

Anyone can buy Sonoran CAD and Radio. I've seen the program utilized in basically every public server there is. When I patrol and I use these programs (CAD & Radio), I feel like I am in a community that uses free, open things that everyone else has access to. I was very disappointed to see that Administration came to that decision to switch.

Back in 2020 and 2021 when I was in the community, roleplay encounters were great. No one was doing crazy armed car pursuits with guns to the teeth, there were no constant bank robberies, shootings, officer emergencies, etc. People in this community want encounters that are simple but complex. The above mentioned incidents don't happen multiple times a day or all in the same day in real life.. and this community strives for realism, no?

I could go on for a while about my concerns, but I bet they'll be handled in other survey responses. In the end of the day, I still enjoy this community and love it as a place to hang out with others and have some fun. However, over the last year or so things have just been going down hill, most notably the things mentioned above.. which has caused me to not want to patrol or be as active as I used to be. Because I don't enjoy it like I did back then.

7/28/2022 10:38:35BCSONoMore than two years6Overall, my personal satisfaction is only a marginal/insignificant part. I joined this community originally for the realism and comradery, but as of late it seems like the members don't matter. I am aware that the admin team and H.A. run the day to day, but without a member base there is no community. I don't disagree that there are aspects that should not be released to the members as we don't pay the bills. There are times that I have been happy to call myself a member of DOJ, and other times I shy from that fact. At the end of the day this is only a game, and we are here to have fun. I personally, do not like life rp. I don't like the fact of having to "work and eat", I do that in IRL already, don't want to do it in a video game. RP seems to have gotten lazy, people are not wanted to extend scenes, that is for leo, fire and civ, compliancy is not going to keep members. I don't know if everyone is bored or they just are lazy, either way it needs to be addressed. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. 2Scenario basedDoesnt matter

7/28/2022 10:40:12SAHPNoMore than two years4It feels like the membership has absolutely no say in the decisions made in the community, especially the big ones. Rather, we are told “we made this change and it’s getting instituted right now” with no input from the membership and no grace period to adjust to said decision.5
Scenario based, Haven't patrolled in the life based server
Doesnt matterI am really concerned with the decline in membership. I’ve been here for quite a while and it seems nearly all the friends I’ve made as well as the other members I felt were of great quality have left. I am really not sure of the reasons for all of them, but a few of them have told me part of their decision to leave was done by the membership having no say in anything that happens. Another thing I feel might be causing a decrease in membership is how every single thing requires an application process and interview process. Whether it be a subdivision or FTO Department it feels like I’m applying to an actual job. I joined this community for a good time, not for going through the same stuff I do in real life. Obviously there should be some sort of process to add quality members to subdivisions, departments, etc. but I think we take it a little too far. I also feel that the requirement to become an FTO in order to advance to becoming a staff member (at least in SAHP, unsure if that’s the case in other departments) is also causing people to leave. When there’s a lot of barriers to advancing your “career”, and I use that term extremely lightly of course, why continue being here?

7/28/2022 10:40:13BCSONoLess than 6 months5I'm somewhere in the middle, I could be a lot more satisfied with my experience so far. I haven't had the greatest experience with staff and people in higher up positions. There is a lack of transparency from staff / senior staff / head admins to members, overly power hungry staff and it almost seems like there's a quota to meet for staff, for example they have to issue a certain amount of DA per month or something similar. This isn't all staff.3Scenario basedYesMy main concern with the community is the split between Server X and production servers, I am 100% sure that Server X will be the ultimate downfall of DoJ and will eventually kill the community all together. DoJ's member count is constantly decreasing and we struggle to even get 1 server going usually, so why on Earth would we ever think having a whole separate server just for Ghost to play around on is a good idea? It makes absolutely no sense at all to have Server X and all it's doing is dividing the community into 2 halves. If we want longevity in DoJ server X has to go. Its no secret that server X has birthed a tonne of awful roleplay and the majority of the community knows not to play server X as its a warzone 99% of the time, with the CAD switch (which I'm a fan of) its caused a lot of these server X players to play production servers now as well as server X, which is now resulting in a quick decline in roleplay. Adding on to quick decline, its also no secret that the majority of the time the servers have little to no civilians, I believe that this is because of how outrageously restricted the civilian department is. All in all I think server X needs to go, the civ department needs to be A LOT less restrictive and we need to start encouraging good quality roleplay again, the way we do that is by not having higher up members be able to do whatever they want with no consequences. It seems that its one rule for staff + and another for regular members.N/A
59
7/28/2022 10:40:32CivNoOver a year1The restrictions on what can be done takes away a lot of story planning. I do life based roleplay, where every scene develops my character further, but then I get hit with roadblocks because of contact level restrictions, and it completely ruins the storyline, and I end up having to either get rid of the character and start a new one, or sit in the same stagnant bubble. Also, the increase in hours required to promote from each rank makes it almost impossible for people who work 40-80 hours a week and want to relax to promote. I understand rules have to be in place because most people in the community are fans of Polecat, but going to lengths such as freezing peoples opportunities to grow and help grow the community when they are in another community, preventing them from joining certain communities, and restricting who can post videos or clips of funny moments from a game. Yes, I understand that DOJ is a private community, but if you want it to grow, you have to let more people be part of the content side. The more people posting, the more attraction to DOJ. Overal, what I'm trying tonsay is that the dual-clanning policy inhibits people who want more than just a regular civ from being able to join other communities their friends are in, and the media policy needs to be reworked to allow people that aren't media team to share their RP stories and scenes2Life basedNoMy concern is that there are people in positions of power that let it go to there heads. There are also people in the server who have a connection with the aforementioned "leaders" who can do whatever the hell they want because they can't be punished, and anyone who tries to punish them gets mistreated and has their power that they were using for good stripped away. It makes it to the point where when certain people are playing on the server I am with friends, I end up leaving, because I know this habitual offender will mess up every scene or story I do. What needs to be done is these people need to start getting held accountable, or members will continue to get frustrated and leave, because it's getting to the point where a few individuals are being treated as invincible, and actively try to ruin others fun.

7/28/2022 10:40:44BCSOLSPD, CivMore than two years5I feel that the community hierarchy is about as transparant as a brick wall, it offers no opportunity to understand the rationale behind decisions without having some R&R shouted at you and quite frankly, the amount of cliques within the community is ridiculous. The quote "It's not what you know, it's who you know" rings true in most departments.2Life basedDoesnt matterBe more transparant.
Be more open to criticism
Being more interactive with the community
Sort out tertiary departments that have HA 'stepping in' as CoC or have no department heads.
Increase council meetings with the community
Allow for 'action reports' to be published; this could be monthly changes that the administration team have made community wide / what's coming.
Less masculine toxicity whereby people feel the need to be exert power at every opportunity

7/28/2022 10:40:53LSPDCivMore than two years2I've been around the community for over 4 years. I've seen various administration teams come in and I've seen the membership change a multitude of times. Throughout my tenure though I have never seen DOJ get this bad. The RP has gone down significantly and more and more civilians are doing life RP rather then what this community was known to be for which is scene RP. I think DOJ is trying to do too many things like LifeRP servers and gang RP. I think DOJ needs to start focusing on one thing being what it use to be known for which is scene based RP. Certain members like Brandon or Braxton also have made this community undesirable. Them being able to get away with anything they want and break all the rules in the community makes the argument of why we even have standards. The standards of the community have gone down and thats why we have seen the huge decline in membership. I know many people that have left the community or have no interests in applying because the standards of RP and people like Brandon. I think we need to seriously look at these problems if we want to keep this community running. Since this year alone we have gone down to barely hitting 1100 members. Recruitment has also gone significantly. Things need to change. People are leaving this community to go find better RP and find servers without people like Brandon and friends. 1Scenario basedYesPlenty of concerns. Like addressed above the RP has gone down significantly. I've talked with hundreds of members and coc about this concern and even admins agree. People like Brandon also ruin this community and deter people from patrolling. The fact that more people think of patrols as GTA Online servers is pathetic instead of what this community use to uphold which is quality RP. One of the first lines on the front page of the website describes how we approach "Realism" That is far from what DOJ has become. Everyday this community gets worse and worse. The HP and LSPD child play also needs to stop. The constant one up of one another is an absolute joke. Its like children having a fight and these people are suppose to be administrators? The constant jurisdiction battle needs to end. HP needs to stay on the highways where they belong and PD needs to stay in the city where they belong.
62
7/28/2022 10:41:07SAHPLSPDMore than two years7Given my experiences in this community for well over 2 years, I have noticed a few patterns. Issues with developers or a path forward with how we want our servers to run, issues with queues (I remember when this wasn’t an issue) and even people who just had cliques. I still think that to this day we are doing better on the dev team but I would like more transparency on stuff. As a community, there are countless things on the dev boards yet some things are still hidden and other things just do get updates. Allowing the community to stay up to date with everything and knowing if there are issues with things allows them to be satisfied with knowing it’s not forgotten.

Queues have gotten due to members not having to fight for a slot however with the removal of a lot of servers a good minute ago, there’s just not enough Leo spots to allow everyone on. If we did slightly smaller patrols with limited civ spots, I would think that would allow more rp and even allow more Leo spots due to them being smaller patrols.

Cliques have been mostly removed as of today. There are still members in the community that I personally think ruin it for all of us. Media Sr staff who can do whenever he wants and with whoever he wants just isn’t right and it causes everyone problems and frustration. It may not be a clique but it certainly hurts the community since everyone isn’t equal (respectively).
3Scenario basedYesOther than what was mentioned in the above box, I think both life rp and scenario based rp is great but in its on world. I personally like what’s happening with server y but as we all know, it still needs work to be very nice and then better than other servers. Without the life rp framework, I think scenario based is better since those scenes are what makes the patrol. Overall, I am one for a ton of public stuff. I also know that there are issues with certain things being public. Here is to list a few.
To be viewable to members+:
All staff rooms and offices - This would only exclude IA operations and HA operations. (Public staffings roughly)
Development and council operations - This is to ensure our reps are doing their jobs and so that repeat items arnt submitted to either department.
More uniformity - There are roughly 8 different ways to get SIT in this community. At least make the 3 Leo ones the same process. This would allow those cocs to be better as they would all
Be knowledgeable.
Trust - Regardless of community rank, members who obtain higher positions such as FTO lead or even other places in the community should be allowed those positions or permissions to do what is required at those positions instead of being restricted due to community rank.

What should remain behind closed doors:
IA Operations - Would still like certain bulletins to go out stating that X number people were removed due to “broad issue here”.

Hope this makes sense as I think a more open place allows for members+ to check over each other to ensure we are progressing fairly and correctly.

7/28/2022 10:41:41LSPDLSFD, CivOver a year7I enjoy this community a lot since it allows me to Roleplay as jobs i wouldnt necessarily be able to do in real life while also meeting new people and acquiring new skills that will genuinely be handy in my future life such as: applying for jobs, leadership skills, interview skills, resource management, social skills, de-escalation skills etc. This could be said about all communities but out of the many i have joined in the past, none of them were nearly as professional as DOJRP. The structure of DOJRP is also super enjoyable, compared to big and popular servers, we are so much better. I have seen more popular servers where staff members dont do anything, where they literally fail to communicate basic things, where the initial trainings fail to achieve anything etc. Ive even had a server instantly make me a member because i had previous experience….

Since i acquired Staff i have gained a new found love for the community, being able to help and contribute in my favorite community is really something i strived for since joining.

The biggest positives in the community is the realism and focus on realism, i HATE unrealistic and more mainstream servers because they simply fail to capture the same feel. I love how elaborate we are and that also makes me get to the biggest negatives:

This community fails once realistic scene rp fails, if we strive to become a popular life rp server like no-pixel, we WILL die. Because if im a civ 3 and i want very good liferp, i would just go to nopixel and leave dojrp, they have MORE assets, more devs, more cars, better assets, more stable servers, and a proven gameplay cycle that works. I have heard that our lifeRP server was an absolute mess on the LEO side. Im not here to RP my life, i would go outside instead of patrolling if that were the case.
3Scenario basedNoMy concerns are:

1) The amount of people in the community:

There is no other way to say this but: DOJRP is not invincible anymore, we have become beggars and if we dont act like other servers we will die. We shouldnt be scared to make recruitment ads or videos and post them online! I know polecat and darien are the only media members that reach a wider adience. But i believe that these people posting recruitment videos for the lacking departments would help. We could also use an instagram and twitter that gives the public incentive to join. For the past 2 years, the only outreach we had is literally just polecat. Which is fine, but something is failing and something needs to change.

Just increase public outreach please.

2) More incentives to be a civ:

I will be honest and just straight up say it: i think probie civ reserve is awful. You need 16 hours of detailed patrol logs while not being able to do 70% of the scenes you want. Its way to limited and just not really fun, especially when you need 16 hours of detailed logs. I think that changing this and making civ reserve be lowered down to PO1 would fix so many things. Civs should also get more freedom, why wouldnt you give civilians more vehicle choices but just make them RP only. Why not give civilian 1s a sniper rifle but only for RP etc. I just think its very limiting. You could argue that every single dept needs a structure. But take LEO depts. the only thing you receive from promos are cars and sometimes outfits. The basic conduct is still the same, for civs it isnt.

In other words: my biggest problems in the community are the number of civs in server at all times. And the fact that we are spending way to much time on LifeRP when i know 90% of the community couldnt care less about it.
64
7/28/2022 10:41:47BCSONoMore than two years4Major changes need to be done. I'm coming up on four years now in the community and things haven't changed. The Media department must be abolished and the right to stream and record be given to all members to allow more visibility of the community. There seems to be more of a focus on things such as Server X and Y, which has majorly split the community in half.3Scenario basedDoesnt matterServer X must either be removed, or all servers be consolidated into it. Right now the community is literally split in half between groups of people who only play one and not the other. Queue limits and player counts for production servers must also be fixed. DoJ is still on an archaic player county system that no other community uses. There are plenty of servers that handle a hundred or so players without issue. Instead of having a queue of up to 20 people for one server, either bump the player count or REMOVE THE QUEUE TO FORCE PEOPLE INTO OTHER SERVERS.Our active player count went from around 2600 to 1400 in the span of a year and a half. Look into what happened in the community in the last two years to figure out what the problem is.
65
7/28/2022 10:42:04LSFDLSPD, Civ6 months to a year7The only thing that makes this community as successful as it is are the membership numbers, and members are leaving because everyone in staff + are all on different pages, HA is imposing poor decisions like the cad upgrade which was widely opposed by almost the entire community, and there is s clear bias towards LEO departments, FIRE CIV COMS get treated like absolute dog shit by the rest of the community and no one does anything about it. 2Scenario basedNoCommunity is fun however the Admin and Staff Teams are DA happy opting to issue out DAs over minor miscommunications rather than talking about the issues with members.

Admins and Staff are unable to come to civil agreements on anything (see the HP PD patrol area conflict as an example)

The development has essentially gridded to a halt with no real content coming to the game the only significant updates have been the new cad (which a majority of the community disliked) and new police cars (what a surprise)

There is no benefit to being a civ and civs are one if the most disrespected groups of people in the community by LEOs, they get berated in and out of game consistently and there is no procedure to correct that behavior unless you catch someone in a recording, so no one wants to patrol as a civ to get shit on by cops the entire time then have to deal with that garbage cad.

7/28/2022 10:44:31BCSOCivMore than two years6I feel that there is a lot of favoritism in the community and the times that I have spoken to people about it they tend to agree I have been a member of DOJ well over 2 years but not active the whole time because of that. Another problem that I run into quite a lot with my timezone is that there is not enough trainers worldwide and makes it difficult to get trainings done. Example of that I got accepted into CVE and have been waiting close to a month now for training and in the entire TED COC there is only 1 person who can help me it takes a toll on the willingness to log on.4Scenario basedYesLike I said above the community needs to get more people in COC worldwide so that trainings can get done quicker promote people on their hours and and rp capabilities and remove favoritism.

7/28/2022 10:44:38BCSOSAHP, CivMore than two years5I love the people, and friends I have made. But the politics and staff attitudes ruin our experience.4Life basedYesThe biggest concern I have with this community is the power hungry staff. Staff continuously target members of this community and literally hunt for policy violations. We are all here to have fun and staff ruin it. People also need to grow up and not get thier feelings hurt by the smallest of comments. This is an adult community. People need to grow up and be adults. Members shouldn't have to look over thier shoulders constantly worried about being pulled into a staff room.
69
7/28/2022 10:45:31LSFDLSPD, SAHP, CivOver a year7The community is pretty good for the most part. There are some issues that can be address which I'll explain in a bit. But the atmosphere is good, and I enjoy the people a lot. The community is very well organized and professional which I like.3Scenario basedNoFirst issue I have right now is that there seems to be a lack of civs in servers compared to last year. It seems to be a struggle to find civs in servers unless you go to server X, which not everyone likes to play in. And once you do find a good amount of civs in a server, all the roleplay they seem to give is robbing's, high speed pursuits, shootings, and other high-risk calls. Those type of calls are highly unrealistic to happen so often. I have been an IRL LEO for 14 years now and the amount of high risk calls that happen in a week in servers, I haven't seen that many in my entire IRL career. Civs need to create more smaller scenes such as vehicle break ins, fraud reports, neighbor complaints, stuff that a cop sees on a regular basis. They also need to create more scenes for fire!

I also have an issue with the new radio and CAD. The new radio would be nice if the reception of the service can be better and to not have half of the county be a complete dead zone. It is really sad that when I am sitting at fire station 7 in the middle of LS and I only have 47% reception. That location should have near perfect since it is in the city. Most modern day radio systems run on 800 mhz Motorola digital radio trunk system which are clear as day when the radio has any service, so clear it's like you are talking on a cell phone. This new radio systems is like I am using a 120 mhz radio system which was replaced at my agency back in 2008. The CAD is realistic, but not needed for DOJ because in the end of the day, this is a video game. I don't want to jump in server to create 12 page arrest report that have to be approved by a supervisor. If I wanted that, I would just go to work at my IRL LEO job. I come in server to relax and have fun. Bring back DOJ CAD!

Every time I patrolled in the last 3-4-5 months, I have not gotten any calls. I have patrols of over 2 hours and 0 calls. The civ. dep. is just the least populated or active since I joined the community. It's not possible for DOJRP to have a full server and full queue and only 10 civs. It's just not how it should work. The requirements for Civ are too low, people patrol 8 hours and then they go missing for the rest of the month. People don't patrol or simply try to transition to other deps. because they get more calls. SO will get more members because the AOP is in BC and that means a higher chance at getting dispatched to calls.2Life basedDoesnt matterFully change the Civ. Dep. You want DOJRP to succeed? Hear me out:
Change fully the promo reqs and everything about Civ.
Instead of having members patrol 8 hours per month to be active and I don't know how many for promo, do the following:

1. Raise the minimum patrol hours. 2. Allow ANY PO1+ EQ. to go as CIV in ANY SERVER (not SX only). 3 - the most drastic change that a) will help us 100% b) will be talked down: Instead of having promos happening every month, do promos every 2 weeks.

Have promos 2 weeks means: Require civs. that want to get promoted 14+ hours minimum in 14 days. 1 hour per day and you will get that requirement. After 2 weeks, you get promoted to the next rank. And this continues on and on.
Guys, it's not about HP vs LSPD, about Sonoran Cad or in house cad or Server Y. It's about Civs. Yes, I am pointing fingers at them, because the situation has gone out of hand.
Ok, you have requirements like the other Departments, but remember: as a civ I can go 8 hours in a single day to patrol, get my requirements done, and NOT PATROL FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH. 8 hours in a day ON PAPER equals 8 hours in a month, but IRL this is not true. Instead of going full spartan in a day to do your requirements, the Civ presence for 1 hour and even less (at least do 1 scene per patrol) is MORE EFFICIENT.
If anyone shows me a screenshot from the last month where we had a full civ group or at least 20 civs I will resign from the community, you have my word.

I am a previous owner of a very big RP Community. My community failed because lack of civs, and it was a server with 5000 unique logins in 24hrs every day of the week. Listen to me for this one, or DM me on Discord. There is no "shame" in asking other members what to do in this situation. I've been trough this and I know how to solve it. Give me the chance to at least help you out and come with ideas, propose them, and not say behind locked doors at Admin Level. You have my name, and I want to get a DM. We can (still) fix this.

7/28/2022 10:46:48SAHPBCSO, LSFDOver a year8I feel admins are able to do what and when they want with no consequences or dev team/media members. Such as wearing mid match uniforms patrolling wherever even if it’s not in that department’s jurisdiction. The quality of civ scenes is going down as well they aren’t going in depth anymore in X server 1-2 are g to bad.4

YesThe media team it wasn’t to long ago I was watching TheBostenAlex and he was rping as a bad cop and after pulling someone over he took them off the go cart and then got onto to it and and hit the civ with their go cart, he literally stole a vehicle from a civ in live servers and then said your free to go and left. When I 10-1 with a 71 they said they can’t do anything about it because I didn’t see it in server and they can’t use the stream as evidence. If I was looking for a community to join and saw that on a stream I wouldn’t join that community if it was first or second impression of it. I love this community just need to start holding people with a higher rank or special privileges to a higher standard especially those who are representing this community.

7/28/2022 10:47:44LSFDBCSO, CivMore than two years4I am mostly marking a 4 due to my primary department being fire department and there seems to be more concern for Leo and civ in this community than anything time and time again we have seen this as Leo and civ are the focus of dev team and the fire department is an after thought. We just now got new engine and rescue. But we are using the old trainer brush truck and our ladder truck is very out of date2

NoMain concern is there is not an equal focus on all departments. That and media members can do what they want without fear of repercussion due to there streams can’t be used as evidence I really hope changes come out of this. The community has the potential to be amazing again just need to focus on our members

7/28/2022 10:48:15CivNoMore than two years4When I joined the community, over four years ago, the roleplay felt much different. It felt like times were simpler and I could just RP happily with my friends. As time went on, things just got more complicated with new servers, complex plugins, strict guidelines on RP. This really put a damper on the freedom you had and the freedom you felt when playing. I know this is something Civ administration has struggled with for a long time, but with the influence of Head Administration on key policies they were left with very little choice.

While I love the Civ Department, I feel the focus put on them in the past while has negatively influenced LEO as well; less room and more waiting. I know about the push for Civ reserves, but simply not everyone wants to do that. It really only ruins the mood. The focus of our servers is completely different, the type of RP that people joined for is simply disappearing. It seems obvious to me that it will make people leave.

One last point I'll mention is that I have had my dissatisfactions with Civ administration for a while. While I know some of the negative decisions are affected/forced by HA, there's things the admins can do better as well. I think for one it would help to have the department lead by someone new, perhaps one of the other admins. I simply do not think Tyler has what it takes to head the department at the high level that is expected, while he can still be a great admin at a different rank. I also think administration needs more freedom to manage their COC, rather than being bound by millions of rules and having complete inability of removing incompetent COC members and even promoting them many times because their guidelines are so strict.

7/28/2022 10:50:32BCSOSAHP, Comms, CivOver a year9This community is top of the line in regards to the rigorous training and assets it possesses. 3Scenario basedYesMy concerns are with a few things:

1. The lack of involvement of members in decisions administration makes on our behalf. The Staff+ here are not "elected" by the member base to make decisions in our best interest. For this reason it seems unfair that decisions regarding all aspects of departments, patrols, servers, assets, etc, are all made without any input by the member base whatsoever. Start giving members the opportunity to vote on things BEFORE they are just decided for us if members aren't going to be given the liberty of voting our own Staff into positions.

2. The accountability for Staff+. At this point it seems like the higher you go in the CoC, the more the rules do not apply to you whatsoever. RPing damage or injuries, worrying about public safety, civilian outreach, proactive policing, all seem to not apply to the higher members of CoC. This becomes an issue when you have someone who has no regard for the rules as they apply to them, try to enforce these same rules on others. Hold Staff more accountable, and stop letting them run around doing whatever they please just because they are in a high position of CoC.

3. Ability for Growth. Within all departments I've noticed there seems to be a limit on how far you can progress without knowing the right people. When you get to the highest member level position without being in CoC, you are frozen there, with no ability to progress without networking and getting into Staff through favoritism. This needs to be fixed either by changing the rules for how CoC is promoted by taking away the ability for staff recommendations, which pretty much take precedence over any letters of interest, or by allowing members to vote people into power.

4. The endless spread out messages, and petty changes to SW patrol. Let the civs do what they want. Everything will be going fine in a patrol, everyone is having fun, lots of officers and civs involved in scenes, and then a petty Staff member will come in and kill the entire patrol by changing the AOP to suit themselves better. Instead of going to an active server with their preferred AOP, they decided to go in the server with the most civs and change it, making 90% of the civs and LEO leave game respectively.

5. The HYBRID system DOJ is continuously pushing on people regarding Life RP. MANY SOPs have been updated recently to include restrictions on scenes, requiring members to perform life RP and restricting their ability to create in depth scenes for First Responders to participate in. Stop trying to hybridize RP and make the separate server for it. Everywhere else should be completely free for the Civs to create unique and detailed scenes on the back end.

6.Server X no longer being testing. Server X used to give an insight into things you would see come to production servers in the future. At this point Server X has become the server with the most assets and coolest additions in the whole community, almost NONE of which have made their way into production servers despite being tested successfully for several months. Server X being this way cause LONNGG queue times for one; and for two server X is completely unfair on BCSO. The 1:3 ratio makes the county unbearably boring, and BCSO cannot activate in the city until certain restrictions are met with minimum unit numbers in the County first, and at no time during a SW patrol can you activate a subdivision in the city. This creates a super unfair environment, where if you want to use all the extremely great and super unique assets, you have to struggle through a long queue, and then be alone in the county with absolutely no interaction with Civillians the entire time. Once things are proven to be stable, SHARE THESE THINGS WITH OTHERS IN THE PRODUCTION SERVERS. There's no reason to keep all the best new assets in one server.
DOJ is still the absolutely goal for every RP community to strive to be. However, the staff are contributing to many of the ongoing issues themselves, more than the member base. This is change that needs to start internally in order to continue to further this community.

7/28/2022 10:50:38SAHPNoOver a year5DOJ has held the quality and standards of professional role play. However the amount of people that actually do go and do scenarios has fallen short. I remember when I first joined DOJ servers 1-3 were full of life along with server x when it was open for people to join and the amount of calls was vast I remember a time when you would get non stop calls and now your lucky to get a 10-11, I find it hard now to want to get into server as the quality of role play from the civs seems to have declined as some civs tend to do more passive RP witch is great so long as it is adding some sort of role play/interactions and not just standing around and talking along with the overall amount of calls officers get. 2
Scenario based, Haven't patrolled in the life based server
Doesnt matterOne concern I currently have is the amount of servers we have, We have server 1 2 and 3 as the event server along with server x and y, I feel that for the amount of people actually patrolling we may not need that many servers as they never actually get filled/used as people just join servers that are active and never really try to populate other servers. My idea would be to eliminate server 3 making server 2 the event/secondary server should server 1 get full people could patrol in server 2. I also feel like increasing the amount of LEO that can be in server will make LEO more likely to join as they won't have to wait in queue and decrease the amount of civs allowing for other servers civ groups to be more active. As I said above the quality of civ role play is another concern of mine. As I have noticed civs tend to congregate in large groups of 5 or more people and do passive role play not really involving LEO or an active business but just stand around and talk about things not pertaining to role play along with not extending the role play that is done. To address the groups of civs that congregate I would suggest making a maximum size that civs can do group rp with for example after 3 or 4 civs they would fill out a form that states "were doing a group scenario with 7 people and this is what we are doing" then that form would be looked at and approved or denied based on if its a scenario that would give LEO and other departments and subs something to respond to. If there is any thing that i stated that has come across as unresentful please no that was not the intention merely addressing my thoughts

7/28/2022 10:52:33BCSOLSPD, CivMore than two years6Since joining in 2019, I have watched the community go through a few stages. At first the community was really well ran and nearly everyone had similar ideas on the direction the community was heading. But passing through the past 2 nearly 3 years with multiple changes in Administration there appears to be less of the same understanding that was in the past. One of the main differences is how each department now appears to be their own little community inside of a big one which shows a clear divide to the member base. Further to this, the standard of roleplay has clearly dropped with again changes to the Administration teams. The community used to be solely scenario based but we have recently transitioned to a hybrid style roleplay of "civ on civ" in production servers which has only lowered the calls for Law Enforcement which accounts for the majority of the community. Since this has happened I have witnessed a decline in membership, but this may not be fully related to this.3Scenario basedNoMy personal concern relates to the intake of membership into the community. This happened once this age limit was raised to 18, there was a visible decrease into the intake of the community. I believe that by lowering the age limit back to 16 will help with the raise of the membership. The argument that those younger than 18 are more immature is a mis conception (which was the original reason given for the change.) and is actually not entirely true.

Furthermore, the transparency to the community from the Staff Team to the Member base and even the staff team is non-existent. It seems that many changes are made without any clear reason as to why.

Scenario based, Haven't patrolled in the life based server
YesMy biggest concern is the same i've heard multiple people voice. There are members in CoC for departments and ESPECIALLY sub divisions that just feel like they don't care anymore and are just there for the power/status. I think term limits plus allowing member input into CoC appointments should be done. So for example lets say John Doe 3C-110 is possibly up for a Subdivision Supervisor or Coordinator spot. A pulse should be taken of the general membership. Discreetly talking to a few members in either discord or ts and seeing what they think of said person. And lets say John Doe gets appointed and is a Supervisor for 3 months. A survey could be taken informally by the membership to determine if that person should continue to lead or not. And the last thing would be as a Civ Reserve the limits placed on Reserves from LEO departments. We get that Civilian mains might feel slighted but constricting Civ Reserves from LEO Departments to a Probie Civ status for almost 2 months is wild and a big reason why alot of people leave or don't even attempt that. LEO Civ Reserves should get a fast track for higher contact levels as much as Civ Mains might feel slighted If John Doe spends 8 months in DOJ and is a Master Deputy with no DA and Reserves as Civ and has less freedom than Jane Doe who has been in DOJ 2 months or less but yet John Doe with LEO knowledge could provide richer and more restrained use of higher contacts I see that as a huge problem. It should feel fun not like a drag at the end of the day.

7/28/2022 10:54:07BCSOSAHP, CivMore than two years6This community was extremely active and detailed when I joined but now I can go several multi hour patrols and never get a call. Half the people do a live rp style and half do a scene based style which puts myself and other people in an awkward place on how to interact with different people. Also server size is not what it once was and there is just not as many interactions as there once was. Fivem is shifting from multiple 30 person servers to one large 300-400 plus person servers are here it’s life based. 3Life basedYesI feel as if DOJ is being left in the past. As I said most if not all of the large communities are life based mega servers and we just aren’t there. We have LEO realism down really well but slowly our civilians are loosing they and we have very ridiculous situations now. On top of that there a lot of staff that have been in the same spot for a while and the members rarely see them. Then onto that FTO requirements to become staff seems an outdated practice along with hour requirements. So many communities now have no hour requirements and have no issues filling servers. But we are adults and to require a certain amount of time each month makes this feel more of a chore than a hobby sometimes. I love this community and want to see it succeed but it’s gotta do some changing out the outcome doesn’t look good.

Doesnt matterI am knew. There will always be people who complain. But there are a few suggestions I would recommend. 1) The rules are a little stifling for the imagination. I know structure is required, but I think there are just too many rules. 2) New people like me are a little lost in the beginning. It would be nice if someone new was assigned a personal FTO to buddy up with them to answer questions and maybe accompany them in server a few times to show them the ropes.I really enjoy DOJRP. 7/28/2022 10:57:50CivNoOver a year8I thoroughly enjoy myself within the community and get a lot out of it, personally, hence why I give my rating a solid 8, however, I feel that the community does lack sometimes, such as when it comes to the COC. I feel they can be way too prickly and authorative, which isn't warranted, especially since people play GTA RP as a hobby and to unwind. The COC need to realise that they're not in any position of true, legitmate authority and need to learn to laugh a little and be a bit more leniant and not be as touchy when someone goes against SOP. At the end of the day, we sit behind our screens ROLEPLAYING. There is a certain level of arrogance from COC when, for exmaple, they ask people to spread out for AOP - they come in the TS channel and start going on about how people need to do this and that, referring to the SOP, etc, and though they may be right to do that, it's their tone - it's cold and I don't appreciate that, like seriously, you play GTA5 ROLEPLAY, get over yourself, it is not that deep.

I do feel there should be a great deal more of community events (there isn't any actually, so that needs to change), such as unique scenarios that a server hosts, such as a mass prison break. Stuff like that would be brilliant and so many of the players would love to do things like that; more dynamic and community based roleplay. Look at JMWfilms and ProGamerNetwork and the server events they do. I'm not at all suggesting we bring in fucking Godzilla or something, but what I am saying is that realistic server wide events, like a prison break, purge, Halloween, etc, are possible and should be looked into, especially if DOJ really wants to enhance its overrall reputation and what it has to offer to new players.

Also, Sonoran cad is BAD and a damned NUISANCE. When I get inspired to RP, I like to hop on, make my character and do /dmv and make a license. Done. Easy. Now, I have to spend about an hour filling out crap just to make a license, etc. It's annoying and other people feel the same way. It's already stressful in real life to sort all of that DMV crap out, and so it's not fun when it's put into the game - yes, it is meant to be more "enhanced" roleplay, but there is a line where things become to overbearing, which inevitably deters players and bores them, like it does to me from time to time.

Such we server X from that point it split the community in half it was an on going war between the production and X. Aside from those serves you can just feel the drama that HP puts off. They are wanting to be on every scene that’s not close to highways and there policy’s that break R&R. I think within BCSO we have ALOT of inactive staff/Senior staff that should retire. They are all good people it’s just time to step down if you’re never around. With that trickles down the deputies of not being able to progress and being held up at master deputy or SIT. 7/28/2022 11:03:02CivLSPD, SAHPMore than two years6I love doj i do it’s my heart and soul. But after branching out we have way to many requirements and hours that Have to be done. The aspect of cub is like a resort to last. Being x2 staff vet running departments and having say in departments we expect way to much of our members. Where as other communities have gotten away from requirements unless you are seeking a active promotion for staff. I think when a game becomes more of a second jobs and you have to do things people lose interest. To many restrictions. Like for example. I’m in new day. And literally I can do what ever I want there are scripts in server put in place to limit the chaos but if I want to kill 5 cops or try and steal a cop car I can. Or if I wanna drive a slick top marked car as a Leo I can. Now there Leo department to get in is a lot harder but it’s also based on life. So what your chr does has consequences unlike here where if I kill 10 cops then get killed myself I can easy go back on that chr or get in another chr and do the same thing. With life rp different chrs have different characteristics so one maybe a crim where another is a cop and wouldn’t do that stuff cause they would get fired. We extend call outs for realism. But think we have lost are our vision on realism and fun. And have to be more focused in hours and fto credits. I’ve seen some of are trainings sat in some just for fun. And it’s was just push them through for when I went through it. It was very serious which made it more fun cause it was like irl. There’s different things that really envolve this. Scenario based rp is a thing of the past. People want life. And I know it’s hard for some to accept change in doj cause it seems like it doesn’t fit there agenda. As staff and admins we should all be working together instead of going in circles in are meetings cause some one don’t like it and they get there friends to agree with them. That goes the same with discord. So much Meta cause of discord. Like as a Leo I bust one balla for some stuff in middle of county next thing you know there’s 13 more ballas showing up or im a Civ and one cop and I’m doing nothing wrong and there’s 3 more cops that show up. And the win mentality has to go . You can see it every where. We need to get back to basics and just roleplay and value are chrs lives . Not go in guns blazing cause I gave the order to do so. Use a team work training and tactics . I mean I’m a lifer and will never leave doj. But it scares me cause the future of doj is not certain. When you look at other communities and the have 396 slot servers full with 100 people waiting in que or more and we can barley fill two 64 slot servers it’s time to go to the drawing board LISTEN. To what the community wants as a hole and fix it together. No more nda stuff or servers from the community. And one more things. Staff has to stop going on which hunts to get people in trouble sorry to rant. But there’s definitely alot that needs attention soon .3Life basedYesMost are listed above. But definitely need to get more into the rp and have people value there lives and stop putting them selves in danger just cause it’s in there contact lvl. Aop needs to go. Requirements as in hours a month needs to go. Unless you are looking for a staff promo and or admin then ya you do that. Also thing we she have department ranks but the staff positions and admin positions are community ranks not department divided . You can appoint people to be a chief or what ever. And have community ranks. Cause are over head is alot where we have like 10 staff members for 1 member little much. Let’s get back to the basics and do it together involving the hole community not just staff or just admins . I always said this as staff. Admins and staff are here for the members and the community needs. Not the other way around. No personal feelings or agenda should be in play. I love you all!

YesYes, My biggest concern and a reason I know a lot of people are leaving the community is because of the amount of corruption with LSPD and Civilian Staff, An example are promotions people who I noticed that are being promoted are very close friends with the people promoted them, especially within the civilian department. As well as some LSPD staff+ haven't happened much to me but a lot of people I know are being targeted by some LSPD Staff+ members. Also the abuse of power from both Civilian and LSPD staff members, they are abusing their in game powers like spectating to catch policy violations without any complaints on the person they're spectating. Also the way some LSPD staff members place excessive DA on individual's simply because they do not like them.

7/28/2022 11:04:48BCSONoMore than two years4In the last 2.5 years, there is been no progressive movement and the general consensus from Senior Staff/Administration is that what is current in place is not broken therefore there is nothing to fix. Progressive ideas are nearly instantly killed.

I would consider the inter-working of DOJ outdated. Community voting is non-existent, internal voting systems do not promote discussion resulting extremely biased decision and communication with the member base about decisions does not exist.

If you were to put the community side by side 2.5 years ago to today, there wouldn't be much of a difference, with the exception of newer vehicles.

Recommendations and actual solutions fall onto deaf ears - complex/comprehensive solutions are deemed not necessary and band-aid solutions are preferred which does not promote longevity.

Additionally, I believe the Senior Staff position is ultimately useless simply due to the lack of activity requirements whether administrative or in-game. I am not aware of any actual responsibility and monthly requirement a Senior Staff member has, making it a retirement home for those individuals. This creates a disconnect from the community and the mindset is from a time when they were an active member, resulting in outdated biased decision.
2Life basedYesA simple Queue System is an outdated approach to promote server activity. FORCE, yes force, players to other empty servers before opening the queue system. 20 people sitting in a queue while a completely empty server is available is an utter joke which might as well be taken offline to save a buck. The argument "if they want to sit in queue for 2 hours, that's on them" is a very poor mindset when coming from a community mentality. Solution - Civilian limits are set to 5 per server. Once all servers have hit the civilian limit, the queue system for LEO opens up and the channel limit for the civilian channel is changed to Unlimited. A bot should monitor the civilian channel every 30 minutes to ensure at least 5 civilians are in each server. If not, the queue system is closed and channel limits are locked until the threshold is met.

Civilians drive RP and are here to create scenes for LEOs - plain and simple. This FACT needs to be made clear and policies need to be updated accordingly. Unless we move to Life RP, civilians will and always be the driving point. The issue is we are lacking the number of civilians. Solution - Permit all members to RP as civilians with a Contact Level 1 with training requirement and no activity requirement. We are all civilians in real life, majority of the community are able to do this without a training. A requirement to become a community member is to agree to civilian SOP, just like the community R&R. If a member wishes to increase Contact Level, they may apply to Civilian Reserve and progress as normal.

7/28/2022 11:06:47BCSONoLess than 6 months7Just a couple of things - The ratio of LE to CIVs is often unbalanced. I personally would enjoy to play as CIV; however, I'm unclear of the process since I initially joined BCSO. I think if every member was required to be "trained" as a CIV, more people would flip between the two to help balance the ratio.

"Training" is another topic. I really love the range of people on this server; however, some of us do not have the ability to spend four hours on a training session. If were on this server, its assumed that we have a pretty solid understanding of computers/basic controls to where the training sessions could easily condensed as soley focused on the important aspects. LE training is ~4 hours and while I appreciated the real-ness, It was not focused on the gameplay, controls as it could have been.

I played on SY and liked some aspects of the life RP, I would like to see the characters have one life before dying, so civs have more of a incentive to not run around killing cops for no reason, however the food and inventory system is too in depth for me personally.

7/28/2022 11:10:45SAHPCivMore than two years3Excessive and reactionary changes to policies, procedures, and technologist. Monthly hour requirements. Promotions based primarily on hours, even at higher ranks. FTO as a requirement for mid-tier ranks.3
Scenario based, Haven't patrolled in the life based server
No1. Changes to the admin structure or at least the decision process. Too many times, the entire community has had to change because "HA" (usually Ghost) didn't like something. After a week or a month, that change is usually reverted.
2. Remove Civ ratios while patrolling, stop the "spread out orders", and let RP happen dynamically. Let highway patrol local roads. Get PD and Sheriff off highways. Keep PD inside actual cities and towns (Los Santod, Sandy, Paleto).
3. Remove hour requirements altogether. I can only speak for myself, but I'm burned out and barely doing the minimum hours. The requirements actually make it less enjoyable to play because now I'm counting hours instead of enjoying the actual experience.
4. Stop introducing large scale changes just to change something, especially on the whim of one person. Latest example is Sonoran CAD. Overly complex and requiring 20-30 minutes per character to set up, and still requires staff approval for every character, license, and vehicle.
5. The entire concept of "Disciplinary Action". Like we're all children at school hoping we don't get punished for talking out of turn. We're all adults in this community. The idea of some 20-year-old telling a 30-50 year-old what he did wrong.
6. Stop with the knee-jerk policy changes. Examples include: banning non-DOJ discord voice while patrolling, setting all AOP to default to LS, forcing AOP to SW above X amount, or prohibiting Highway from patrolling on Joshua Road. All of these were pushed because someone was upset, and all of them were reversed within a week or a month. Policy changes like these serve no purpose except to anger the members and drive them away.
7. Change promotion requirements for staff ranks to not require hours or at least not focus on them. Encourage more administrative actions (updating member lists, handling complaints, updating documents, etc). Promote people who make good decisions consistently, and do not promote people who are consistently rude and make poor decisions. Not just people who play a lot.
Make DOJ fun again.

YesHave civs spread more and have them create scenes that are not in Sandy or Grove st, I would also say to have them do more creative things rather then shootings, pursuits or drug deals, have them do disturbances, peace disturbances, water rescues, minor complaints, etc.

7/28/2022 11:11:50BCSOCivMore than two years5I'm actually been in retirement for the past few months but I put my previous depts that I was an active member in. I feel like since before I retired (August, 2021) the amount or day to day quality RP was in decline. There would be loads of cops and on a good day and 2-3 civs that would only really make priorities. You would never see me in Server X at the time so I always went in on the normal patrol servers where having enough civs was a miracle in itself. Like I said before where they were civs the RP felt to be the same repetitive pursuits or OISs and things of that nature. I remember I would literally sit on the side or the road or in some dirt road in BC waiting for a civ to join the server with already 10 LEOS in it. It was very tempting to just get off for the night and watch Darien's or Ghosts stream to see all the fun they were having in server X. 3
