Hi! Welcome to the Animal Crossing New Horizons map editor, provided completely within a Google Sheets Document. Before you begin, there are a few things that you must learn about the setup of the file before you can begin creating your dream island.

1: Each cell on the Map represents one space in the real game.PathwaysRockWaterSandGround Level Terrain2nd Level Terrain3rd Level Terrain

2: This Map Creator works mainly using the Fill Color and Copy and Paste commands. The Fill Color command can be found on the toolbar at the top, between the text color tool and the border tool. Copy and Paste commands can be found by either right clicking a selected cell or object or by pressing Ctrl + C for Copy and Ctrl + V for paste.
4
3: The Fill Color command is used in this Map Creator to fill cells with a solid color. This is how you change the color of a space to a different color in an instance where you'd like to switch the what material is represented by that space on the Map. The seven (7) colors (not counting black) listed in the Theme section of the Fill Color drop down menu represent different materials in the game. The materials and their corresponding color can be found in the chart to the right.

4: The Copy and Paste commands are used in this Map Creator for two things. The first thing they are used for is to copy 45 degree cells from the top of the Map Key to paste them in the desired position on the map. These 45 degree cells represent the 45 degree angles terrain can make across a square. The top of the map key contains all four possible orientations of each material interaction possible, with some repeated to lessen the sidescrolling needed during creation. The basemap already contains various examples of these in use. Drag ObjectPaste the Drag Object below.Drag the object to this cell. Congratulations! You've learned how to use Drag Objects.
6
5: The Copy and Paste commands are also use in this Map Creator to copy objects from the left and bottom of the Map Key to paste them onto the map. There are two types of objects, Single Celled Objects and Drag Objects. Drag Objects are those objects that when clicked, allow you to drag them around the sheet with the mouse. Drag Objects are buildings, bridges, and stairs. Do not resize these objects. These objects are sized to the space they will occupy in game, as represented by the the shaded box surrounding the icons. Single Celled Objects are those objects found near the bottom of the Left Map Key. These objects take up a single space in game. Currently there are three options, Regular Tree, Palm Tree, and Campfire. After pasting a Single Celled Object on the map, you will notice that the cell box is white surrounding the object. This can be fixed by using the Fill Color command to refill in the cell color. The Single Celled Objects have transparent backgrounds to allow this fix. Free to test this system in the provided space to the right.Copy this object by either right clicking or pressing Ctrl + C while it is selected.
