Food Rescue Pop UpReturning to Worship on site

“If you will eat it, you are welcome to it,” is the refrain you will hear at St. Paul’s and St. Matthias’ food rescue program. The program has been a blessing in several ways. Neighbors, members and friends have been able to choose from a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, staples like rice and canned goods, breads, pastries and pizza, and frozen meats. This is an opportunity for us to share and enjoy in common some of what God has provided. A secondary benefit is that much of the food would have gone to the landfill and been wasted otherwise. You- members and friends of the church- are encouraged to come on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 3 pm and choose whatever you would like. There are no “eligibility” lists, no income or membership requirements, no limits on what you may take. The program, in operation for several months and expected to continue well into the future, has allowed us to meet and chat with each other and our neighbors. Members of both congregations are the workers- rescuers, hosts, finishers- and are just as clearly among the beneficiaries . If you would like to help, please let the office know. We will begin to worship on site Sunday, Oct 17 at 10:45. __________________________________________________________________________ Save the Date Nov 6 begins the Quilt and Bag gathering. 9:00 a.m. - Noon. will meet the first and third Sat of each month.
