| TEST | DIRECTIVES | POINTS | * | TOTAL | REMARKS
| 1 | A X | Enter working trot Halt, salute Proceed working trot | Regularity and quality of trot; willing, calm transitions; straightness; attentiveness; immobility (min. 3 seconds) | 6 | 6 | wobbly centerline and needs balance into the halt. fairly prompy out of halt. try to ride with more energy as that will help with the impulsion needed to keep straightness. use more leg and seat aids and sit up and look ahead.
| 2 | C E | Track left Circle left 20m | Regularity and quality of trot; shape and size of circle; bend; balance | 6 | 2 | 12 | steady tempo and bend but horse is not going forward. rider has her hands back and is trying to pull the horse into a frame rather than trying to ride the horse from the hind legs into a softer connection. tension in mouth from pulling hand on outside rein
| 3 | A | Circle left 20m developing left lead canter in first quarter of circle | Willing, calm transition; regularity and quality of gaits; shape and size of circle; bend; balance | 6 | 6 | labored and behind driving aids. rider is pumping with her upper body and tight through thuighs- the tight thigh causes horse to slow and the rocking upper body impacts balance. relax and use leg to kick horse on and allow him to come through his back in longer strides
| 4 | A-F-B | Working canter | Regularity and quality of canter; bend and balance in corner; straightness | 5.5 | 5.5 | drifts off rail, needs leg aids to keep horse on the rail- reins just cause him to hollow
| 5 | Between B & M | Working trot | Willing, calm transition; regularity and quality of gaits; straightness; bend and balance in corner | 5.5 | 2 | 11 | breaks and braced against the hand- rider's hands are wide, arms straight, and she is pulling horse down- work to develop a more supple arm and ride rein forward more to horse's mouth
| 6 | C | Medium walk | Willing, calm transition; regularity and quality of walk; bend and balance in corner | 6 | 2 | 12 | transition is very late and disorganized but walk is nicely forward and marching. use 1/2 halts to prepare horse for transition and add leg to keep horse lifting so that he is able to transition with the hind legs rather than running into the shoulders
| 7 | E-F F | Change rein, free walk Medium walk | Regularity and quality of walks; reach and ground cover of free walk allowing complete freedom to stretch the neck forward and downward; straightness; willing, calm transitions | 7 | 2 | 14 | nice;y swinging FW with ground cover- don't be afraid to give him even more rein. a little against hand picking up reins to MW and transition is not clear
| 8 | A | Working trot | Willing, calm transition; regularity and quality of trot; bend and balance in corner; straightness | 6 | 6 | plan your transitions better. rider asked for the trot with a relatively loud aid past A. ask quietly before A so that horse can respond at the letter with more relaxation. trot needs to be more forward
| 9 | E | Circle right 20m | Regularity and quality of trot; shape and size of circle; bend; balance | 6 | 2 | 12 | steady tempo and bend but note that horse is not tracking up and back is dropped. rider needs to bend elbows and relax hand forward rather than bracing down against the horse's mouth. this will allow the horse to move more freely forward and relax over his back to the bit
| 10 | C | Circle right 20m developing right lead canter in first quarter of circle | Willing, calm transition; regularity and quality of gaits; shape and size of circle; bend; balance | 6 | 6 | shape of circle is more square than round- do not use corners in a circle, horse is willing but restricted from moving forward so back and neck are tight and he is braced in his mouth
| 11 | C-M-B | Working canter | Regularity and quality of canter; bend and balance in corner; straightness | 6.5 | 6.5 | fairly straight but needs to be more relaxed over the back and neck
| 12 | Between B & F | Working trot | Willing, calm transition; regularity and quality of gaits; straightness; bend and balance in corner | 6 | 2 | 12 | obedient but not really coming from the hind quarters as he is pulled into transition. use 1/2 halts to get horse to better sit and do the transition in a more balanced frame
| 13 | A X | Down centerline Halt, salute | Bend and balance in turn; regularity and quality of trot; willing, calm transition; straightness; attentiveness; immobility (min. 3 seconds) | 6 | 6 | head wagging and drifting left. needs better balance in halt. keep even pressure with leg and seat and look straight ahead to better channel horse on a straight line. more energy from behind will improve connection- round comes from the hind legs not the reins
| Leave arena in free walk. Exit at A.

| 2 | Impulsion | Desire to move forward with suppleness of the back and steady tempo. | 6 | 2 | 12
| 3 | Submission | Acceptance of steady contact, attention, and confidence. | 6 | 2 | 12
| 4 | Rider’s Position and Seat | Keeping in balance with the horse | 6 | 6
| 5 | Rider’s Correct and Effective Use of the Aids | Correct bend and preparation of transitions | 6 | 6
| Kind, honest horse with potential for higher scores once he is more able to reach over his back and cover ground in his naturally expressive gaits. Rider is concerned with frame and uses rein aids to create "round" which blocks his energy and drops his back. Be brave and allow horse to travel more over the ground with a softer connection and see his frame relax and the ride become more harmonious. This is a capable rider and some changes in her attitude to the energy and bit will result in much improvement for her and her horse. Best of luck.
