There are neighborhoods, and then in between, treacherous streets with fast driving and nowhere to walk safely, let alone bike. The whole town has to be taken into consideration when solving this problem because everyone should be able to walk comfortably. I grew up in tenafly nj and my parents have a house in sag harbor as well. I assumed all towns were walkable/had sidewalks. I hope it's possible to figure this out. We live off long lots road which has a sidewalk up to a point, but it stops before it gets to us. It's really frustrating because we are part of this town and would like to be able to walk to our schools, but there's no sidewalk and the street is really dangerous right outside our block.
