8/2/2012 11:25:488/1 (Wednesday) Dark Matter Direct DetectionCollar, JuanJiang, YunI find lots of MSSM papers only take XENON limit on spin-independent cross section vs WIMP mass as the phenomenological constraint.
Q1: Actually there are lots exclusion curves and allowed contours in the spin-independent cross section vs WIMP mass plot. Why do we ignore other? Is the XENON curve most trustable experiment measurement?
Q2: Why do they ignore the spin-dependent cross section vs WIMP mass limit?
Q3: Again, why do they ignore the constraint from the indirect detection? Is it very small in the MSSM?

8/2/2012 14:26:358/1 (Wednesday) Dark Matter Direct DetectionCollar, JuanWhat do we mean by spin-dep. and spin-indep. cross-section?Is it the spin of DM particle?

8/2/2012 14:28:198/1 (Wednesday) Dark Matter Direct DetectionCollar, JuanCan you explain briefly the 'threshold effect', may be I have missed the point during your lecture?

7/31/2012 13:04:477/31 (Tuesday) Dark Matter Indirect DetectionHooper, DanCould you elaborate on the AMS-02 search with respect to dark matter?
23
7/31/2012 13:53:277/31 (Tuesday) Dark Matter Indirect DetectionHooper, DanHow to distinguish the gamma ray which comes from DM annihilation or SM parcitcle coliision?

7/31/2012 14:01:257/30 (Monday) The Dark Matter ZooHooper, Dan1) In the collider strategy to search DM, how can we distinguish the MET which arises from neutrino or DM? If the separation is not clear, can we trust the DM search?
2) I saw there are lots of exclusion contours on the spin-independent cross section versus WIMP mass plot? Why some are closed contours, why some are upper limit exclusion curve like XENON? Are all curves/contours consistent with each other?

8/2/2012 11:02:098/1 (Wednesday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (I)Papucci, MicheleA silly question: why does the theory break at 4pi v or 4pi f_pi?
27
8/2/2012 11:04:068/1 (Wednesday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (I)Papucci, MicheleHow to reduce the number of parameter in the SILH? In addition to a and c parameters, what's the value for the rest params (c_2, b_2, ...) in the MCHM?
28
8/2/2012 11:13:178/1 (Wednesday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (I)Papucci, MicheleJiang, Yun1) Could you introduce some other models: natural SUSY, lambda SUSY, composite Higgs, Little Higgs and Fat Higgs?
2) If the Higgs near 125 GeV is quasi-degenarate, can we discriminate this scenario using the Higgs pair production?
3) Our work shows that the simple scalar singlet addition to the SM cannot enhance the gamgam signal strength. But you mentioned it can be realized in your talk yesterday. Maybe I confused sth here, could u give some clarification?
29
8/2/2012 11:13:508/1 (Wednesday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (I)Papucci, MicheleWhat's dilation and radion?
30
8/2/2012 11:16:278/2 (Thursday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (II)Papucci, MicheleYou mentioned that a (roughly) SM Higgs discovery rules out a vanilla 4th generation, but that you could say more about non sequential SM 4th generations. Can you say more?
31
8/2/2012 11:18:278/1 (Wednesday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (I)Papucci, MicheleJiang, YunHiggs is regarded as pseudo-NGB in the composite Higgs model. Besides the SO(5)/SO(4) symmetry breaking pattern discussed yesterday, could you briefly talk about larger group breaking patterns? Is there some new features?
32
8/2/2012 14:24:228/1 (Wednesday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (I)Papucci, MicheleWhy spin-2 is unlikely for the Higgs boson,as you mentioned in the lecture?
33
8/2/2012 14:46:168/1 (Wednesday) Implications of Higgs Searches and Discovery (I)Papucci, MicheleYou showed that a and c are related in MCHM models and that some Little Higgs models have the same relation for a and c. Is this purely coincidence or is there a connection between some MCHM models and Little Higgs models?
34
7/31/2012 12:29:057/31 (Tuesday) Supersymmtry Searches (II)Pralavorio, PascalIf the LHC eventually does find SUSY, how well would you be able to measure SUSY parameters (like masses, couplings, etc.)?
35
7/31/2012 12:33:077/31 (Tuesday) Supersymmetry Basics (II)Pralavorio, PascalIn your personal opinion do you think the LHC will find SUSY?
36
7/31/2012 13:09:067/31 (Tuesday) Supersymmtry Searches (II)Pralavorio, PascalCould you comment on the viability of Natural SUSY based on current experimental knowledge?
37
7/31/2012 13:22:467/31 (Tuesday) Supersymmtry Searches (II)Pralavorio, PascalYou mentioned some many-jet (m>6) processes in SUSY search, how efficient is current experimental analysis for those channels? What supersymmetric particles/models are they particularly suited for?
38
7/31/2012 13:23:307/31 (Tuesday) Supersymmtry Searches (II)Pralavorio, PascalWhat's your favorite channel in SUSY search?
39
8/2/2012 11:32:158/1 (Wednesday) The BSM ZooRizzo, TomIn your opinion, in studying various BSM models how well equipped are physicists to deal with the "unknown unknowns" that may appear at the LHC?
