|5/22/2019 12:10:18||Working on Violence with LS|
Violence is a widely present behavior in social interaction and personal relationships. In a professional context violence between co-workers and team members keeps teams from performing well.
Some types of violence are so common that we sometimes don't even recognize it, i.e., emotional or psychological violence amongst many others. I intend to create a new Liberating Structure that can make different types of violence more tangible and have people reflect on their experience with it. Goal for the structure will be to increase the awareness for types of violence.
|I might come up with a co-host in order to possibly present the idea in a celeb interview. But maybe I will apply my first approach to the topic with my adaptation of helping heuristics. For collecting feedback on my work so far I might be using 1-2-4-All or Wise Crowds.||I am fine hosting the session by myself||Andreas Erber|
|5/22/2019 13:17:39||Minds up!|
The session serves to increase process awareness/mindfulness of individuals and groups. Helping us to become "mindful angels" who fly above our heads and remind us of staying mindful in our conversations and interactions.
I would like to combine mindfulness exercises (meditation, body scan and the like) with liberating structures. Thereby I want to try whether the idea of combining mindfulness with LS is fruitfulI, how it appeals to participants and how we can best integrate it into the facilitation of group processes. It´s experimental!

Sure LS Works in Practice, What About Theory?
|Link theory and inspiring principles to your LS practice. I would like find 5 or 6 folks who are inspired by complexity science principles or theory. How was the improvised premiere version @ the GG? It was a bit of 1-2-All and Improv Prototyping. A handout evaluation would be included in this session. Using LS in the sustainability context (environmental and social)
Sustainability is one of the key challenges of out time. This links to environmental sustainability (e.g. climate change, plastic waste) as well as to social sustainability (e.g. diversity management, fair trade etc.). As most sustainability challenges are of systemic nature, stakeholders from various backgrounds (e.g. business, politics, consumers, science) need to get into conversation with each other and need to work together towards a sustainability goal. In this session, I would like to explore which Liberating Structures can be used in which sustainability context. We might use the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as starting point to identify context areas for sustainability. Outcome of the session could be a matrix, that shows, which LS to use in which sustainability related context (including stories, tips and does and don't). This can help practitioners in the sustainability field to gain a better understanding of useful LS tools in their area.
Potentially Sustainable Development Goals SDGs as a starting point (briefly explain, what they are). Use 1-2-4-All to learn, who of the participants has used LS (or has an idea of using LS) to promote one of the 17 goals. Gathering and clustering of the tools in different sustainability context on a chart with the 17 SDGs goals. From their: Depending on the number of people: If we have enough people in the session, we could do a conversation cafe around certain topics of key interest. At each table people would engage into deeper conversation, how LS can help to facilitate sustainability in this specific area. Potentially, we could also use panarchy to show the interrelations of the different systems. But I would need support here, since I haven't used the tool before. As a final outcome we will enhance the findings of the different groups of the conversation cafe on the maxtrix outlining which LS to use within which context of LDGs.

LS in the class room (students from business/social science)
|This session seeks to explore, how to use LS in the class room to better engage students and facilitate learning, despite having a restrictive curriculum you have to stick too.||Start with impromptu networking: Which challenge regarding learning methodologies in the class room do you bring to this gathering? What do you hope to get from and give this group/in this session? Identifying obstacles and problematic patterns in the class room. Then either improv prototyping and/or TRIZ to move towards ideas how we can improve learning in the class room using LS. Which LS can we then use to draw the different findings and ideas together at the end? Not sure? Any suggestions welcome.||I need & want co-designers to help shape this with me||Yes||Nadine Pratt|
