39	Fairly tall and slender, but muscular, the first thing that you probably notice about Crystal is her piercing blue eyes and long brown hair - though the latter is often concealed underneath a helmet. While she may not look quite up to it, she can certainly hold her own, standing up to stronger warriors - though, generally she prefers to simply let them exaust themselves, before trying to match their power.							Crystal grew up the first child of a noble in the Kingdom of Esquimalt, and, as tradition dictated, she was sent off to join the Order of the Ardent Shield as a young child. There she was trained in the arts of chivalry, fighting, and humility, as well as a dedication to the World Spirit, Ilúvatar, that the Order believed caused all natural things to happen. The animals that roamed the lands were gifts, tests, and punishment in one - and, sometimes humanity needed to prove itself. With the discovery of Qedem, it was said to be a sign from Ilúvatar. There would be things never before seen, gifts to be claimed, and dangers to be braved. It was deemed that there would be held a Trial, to determine which of the Order would be sent to attempt to join the Second Expedition. Of the half-dozen Knights selected to, Crystal just barely made it in, and only because one of the six scoring higher broke her leg during the Trials. This failure only made her more determined to prove herself out there... assuming she passed the second test, and actually got accepted to the Expedition...

41	If you asked Crystal to describe herself in one word it would be "blunt". Or maybe "no-nonsense". Or, rather that's what she strives towards. She doesn't always manage to pull it off. Especially because she still has a sense of wonder at most of the natural world, seeing her god's hand in it all. The curiosity at new things can somewhat... conflict with her desire to just do what's asked of her, plainly and simply. And she also has a deep respect for human life, and strives to protect and maintain it at all costs - regardless of the danger it puts her in.							She dreams of being the one to find out the secret of Qedem, to perhaps have her name remembered in the annals of history. But, more important than that is to discover why the World Spirit revealed it to the general population now. What message is He trying to send?
