Teachers with less than 5 years of full-time teaching, not substitute teaching, must complete an average of 30 hours of PLUs per year for certification in the above categories. The transcript and approval occur through Frontline.

Four kinds of (PLUs) are available to educators.

The four kinds are those that:

(1) Enhance educator effectiveness,

(2) Build curricular implementation knowledge,

(3) Develop pedagogical knowledge, and/or

(4) Deepen content knowledge.

Frontline - Select Hours OR Credits not both

• 1 hour of a professional learning activity = 1 PLU

• 1 college credit = 15 PLUs

• 1 demonstrated competency = 5-10 PLUs

• 1 component of National Board Certification = 45 PLUs

• Completion of National Board = 180 PLUs

• Renewal of National Board = 90 PLUs

Conference/workshop request - use this form to submit professional learning opportunities that you would like to participate in. Goes to principal, Katie, & Paula for approval

Catalog Actitivy proposal - Use this form to create an actitivy to be placed in the catalog for all staff to sign up. Goes directly to Paula for approval

Course Approal Form - Use this form for credits to maintain masters or lane change allocations. This form goes to Nancy and Mike for approval.

Mentee Log - log your meetings with your mentor. They are district required

Mentor Log - log your meetings with your mentee, you are paid through your stipend, you may select district required.
