DescriptionMale and female high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities.Male and Female Greenville County schools Seniors acceptedon a full-time basis at a college or technical school in the upcoming year. Sirrine Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of four years for undergraduate study at a two- or four-year institution. Sirrine Scholarships are renewable for a maximum of three (3) years, provided the student maintains satisfactory progress toward the completion of his/her program of studies. Renewals are not automatic; the student must reapply each year.The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship requires an application to be completed on behalf of the student. The application must be completed by the high school guidance counselor/school representative. It is the responsibility of the guidance counselor/school representative to identify each eligible applicant.The South Carolina General Assembly established the Legislative Incentives for Future Excellence (LIFE) Program in 1998 to increase access to higher education, improve employability of South Carolina’s students, provide incentives for students to be better prepared for college, and encourage students to graduate from college on time. The South Carolina HOPE Scholarship Program was established in 2001 and was implemented during the 2002-03 academic year. It is a merit-based award designed for first-time entering freshmen attending four-year institutions who do not meet the qualifications for the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship or the LIFE Scholarship.This scholarship opportunity principally targets two- and four-year academic programs; however, certificate/licensing programs are also eligible. Preference will be given to applicants who are among the first generation in their families to attend post-secondary school. Additional consideration will be given to low socio-economic status students as well as students who are underrepresented minorities.Graduating seniors attending GCS high schools are eligible to apply for the GCS Foundation Golf Tournament Scholarship. At least half of the scholarships are designated for children of permanent full- or part-time district employees. Juneteenth (June 19) is the oldest celebration marking the end of slavery in the US and was
first celebrated in Galveston, Texas in 1865. Officially named Juneteenth National
Independence Day, June 19 is now officially recognized as a federal holiday.
Our firm will offer six $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in South Carolina who plan to attend a four-year institution of higher learning in the fall. Selection of the recipients is based on the creative entry, school activities, positions of leadership, special honors and awards, community involvement, academic performance, and professional pursuits.Our firm will offer one $2,000 scholarship to a student in South Carolina who plans to attend or is attending a Historically Black College or University. The selection of the winning recipient is based on their essay entry, school activities, positions of leadership, special honors and awards, community involvement, academic performance, and professional pursuits.The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.The scholarships are awarded by the Greenville Federal Credit Union Foundation which exists to promote local prosperity
by providing grants, educational scholarships, and other funding support for individuals and non-profit, community-based
programs within Greenville County, SC. It relies on financial support from the credit union and through donations from
members, business partners and the public. Funding is managed through a charitable donation account by the credit union’s
philanthropic partner, Carolina’s Credit Union Foundation, a 501(c)(3), grant-making public foundation supported by the
credit union system in the Carolinas.
Our goal is for students to use the scholarship funds to pursue studies that promote mutual understanding, diversity, inclusion, and representation. Students could pursue language study, cover application fees for higher education, purchase textbooks, or use the funds in other ways that allow them to continue studying in a diverse cultural context.

NotesThere are two (2) different applications for applying for the Sirrine Scholarship.

New Applicant – A student has never applied for the J. E. Sirrine Scholarship or has never been awarded the scholarship. A student must be a graduate of the class of 2019, 2020, 2021 or 2022 in order to apply for the 2022-2023 academic school year.

Renewal Applicant – A student is currently receiving the J. E. Sirrine Scholarship and is eligible for renewal of the scholarship. A student may be awarded up to four years for undergraduate study at a two- or four-year institution
There are two periods in which a student can be a part of an application period. The Early Award opens mid-May of the Junior Year of high school and closes April 15th of the Senior Year of high school. The Late Award opens mid-May of the Senior Year of high school and closes June 30th. Should the deadline fall on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday the deadline is the preceding Friday. All application materials must be in receipt of the Commission office by 5:00 pm of the deadline close.Winners must be available to attend the Juneteenth at Unity Park event on Friday,
June 16 at 4 p.m.
• Winners will be asked to read their essays at the event.
• Two winners will receive a $500 scholarship provided by the Greenville County Section of
the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
Applicants are required to submit the following materials along with their 2023 online application form below
