To open to visitors tentatively on July 1, 2020||In compliance with the Malaysian Government Announcement on nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO), all staff are currently on Working From Home (WFH) arrangement. By adhering to the strict guideline, we have zero COVID-19 cases among staff. Upon lifting of MCO, Petrosains shall be working on Split Team Working (STW) between Team A & Team B and taking turns to come to office in adhering to social distancing and to minimise the impact of infections and disruptions to the centre operations. Petrosains shall be open to visitors tentatively on July 1, 2020 with reduced operation hours, number of visitors allowed in, and staffing. Any changes to the re-opening date will be updated accordingly.||Petrosains is currently engaging our audience through multiple social media platforms and providing an extension of online learning content on Discover STEM (https://petrosains.com.my/discover-stem/). In supporting the nation during this trying time, we are working with partners in producing PPE for frontliners such as 3D printed faceshields and shoe covers. We have distributed 290 faceshields to hospitals with a target delivery of 1,000 units. We are sanitizating the exhibition/office areas, preparing SOPs to enforce social distancing and practising of high personal hygiene and making other necessary preparations to assure visitors of their safety when the centre re-opens tentatively on July 1, 2020. We clean and sanitize our premise more regularly than before, and we provide hand sanitizer to our visitors. We check body temperature for visitors and request for declaration of health status and travel history upon entry. We limit admission crowd to allow for adequate social distancing. We have posters and advice all over our premise about good hygiene practice. In addition, we offer online public info and videos on the fundamentals of the Coronavirus. Joint COVID-19 prevention & control campaign with the science centers across the greater bay area. Introduction and demonstration on the use of iNaturalist application. Pictorial on animals and plants that are only availalble in Macao. Online education programs are in progress with selected local schools. More online programs of different themes are being developed. Recap of our recent star-gazing activity and viewing of partial solar eclipse in Macao, celebration of the International Planetarium Day on March 8, as well as sharing of astronomical news via our facebook. Quizzes, games and lucky draws are held via social media channels to help cheer up our fans during this difficult time.
