Before taking decisions such as regarding prices, marketing costs, staff, you first have to decide on several important elements related to your hotel, such as the new strategy for the hotel. Also, a new name, logo and slogan needs to be determined. Furthermore, a picture is needed with all management team members. Explanation of new hotel nameWe have chosen the hotel name, Flora Resort because our mission is to prove that the combination of sustainability and luxury is possible. “Flora”, the first part of the name, stands for "flower"; it is a Green Hotel and this expresses the sustainable part of our hotel. It is important for us to make sure this aspect is clear and rememberable for our customers. We have chosen to include “Resort” in our name because this will make it easier for customers to find our hotel in the luxury segment. Our name will be recognized from the keywords and this will results in a higher ranking in the search engine.

Strategy of your hotelOur mission is to change the perception that sustainability and luxury cannot work hand in hand. We want to prove that this is possible, while still remaining a profitable business. The plan is to promote the local economy by collaborating with businesses in Amstelburg and the surrounding area. We want to commit to using 100% renewable energy, by switching to a green energy provider. We pride ourselves in preparing healthy meals in our restaurant using resources from local farmers as well as our own garden. The visitors have the possibility to learn about sustainable living in our hotel garden. For this purpose, we will employ a local specialist to deliver the best experience for possible for our guests. We also plan to provide a specific type of education for businesses such as seminars on CSR and making business trips more sustainable. Another one of our priorities is to maintain the levels of comfort and luxury, that guest have previously enjoyed. We aim to make a difference in hospitality, by educating our employees on creating memorable experiences and making sure their knowledge about sustainability in general as well as of our hotel are up to standard. Seeing as we plan to be a unique hotel, the aim is to attract new customers as well as maintain the relationship to our current customers to help grow our profits. We accept that our profits might drop in the first year as a result of the investments we plan to take, but we have high hopes that profits will grow in the second and third year. Sustainability is a topic that has recently risen in interest for many consumers and we believe that it is important to follow this trend. With this strategy we are confident that the hotel will remain financially healthy and independent.

Target market(s) and target group(s)We plan to continue laying a focus on business guests during the week and leisure guests on weekends and during holidays.
The business guests prefer more modern rooms, so a certain number of rooms for business guests we still have to be renovated. They tend to have dinner in the hotel together. For business guests who are travelling alone we plan to have a separate area in the restaurant, which is quiet so they can eat and drink while continuing to work. They see a quick check in and facilities such as Wi-Fi as basic necessities so these need to be up to scratch. The returning business guest like to be recognised, so we will provide personal greetings in the hotel room, with amenities from the garden.
The leisure guests want to be placed close the garden so they should be place on the ground floor. We want them to feel welcome, so we will provide a personalised and thorough check in process where we can explain the concept of the hotel and all the possibilities, they have such as the education in the garden. In the rooms we will also provide a leaflet with all the possibilities the hotel has to offer so they can always have a look at the activities they can take part in. We will contact families beforehand to check if they have any special requirements for the children.
