10/17/2017 21:12:39I don’t understand the cabanas because honestly, families won’t use this pool very much together- it is more for classes and lap swimming which doesn’t happen as a family with young kids- not like the leisure pool at derdaKind of nonplussed- now t much too it- no outdoor fitness area or view?Is it cheaper to have this smaller footprint? It seems very broken up Like the separation of pool/fitness area and function room- is the lakefront room large enough in this design? Good placement of itLike the small fitness deck overlooking the field No strong feelings- definitely good to have separation of pool and function areaLike the fitness deck but like the larger ones on other designs
3
10/18/2017 10:39:24The cold pool needs a wall separating it from the rest of the pool(s). This will allow Swim meets or other types of competition to happen without affecting the rest of the pool area.
4
10/18/2017 15:47:23This is much better because the cold pool is configured for possible competition useThis is much better because the cold pool is configured for possible competition useYou could have viewing windows for the pool areas below

10/18/2017 15:54:03Please make sure to include badminton lines on the floor as well as pickleball
6
10/18/2017 15:54:30I'd prefer for Conceptual Design 5 as it appears to be a nice balance
7
10/18/2017 15:59:08Design 5 is the best. 3 & 4 are better than 1&2.

10/18/2017 16:04:01They all look pretty similar to me as a residence.. would like to see a nice lap poo for Broomfield High school swim team, and other swim clubs such as Cuda.
9
10/18/2017 16:11:11We would like a large competition pool for the cold pool.
10
10/18/2017 16:18:53This designs works better with he pool in the back and allows for growth if needed. The pool needs to be 8 lanes at least but if you think about growth 10 lanes works better. Better to be bigger now than later. There needs to be a wall between the lap pool and the rest of the facility so swim meets can be ran by the high school and little kid cudas. The wall can be windows with a couple glass doors. there needs to be a lifeguard office with a kitchen in it and also a pool manager office.

10/18/2017 16:28:04need competition pool to be more competitve. Bleachers and blocks and divingThis pool is better. needs more seating. clubs host meets and need seatingagain good pool design. rental of pool for competition brings in lots of $ because competition pools are scarce. Enough seating to host meets is key. Also need scoreboard equipment, regulation blocks, and as many lanes as possible.
12
10/18/2017 16:33:06There appear to be only 7 lap lanes in the cold pool. If you are spending the time and money to build a new facility, the need for more lane space is real. Please consider an eight to ten lane pool. The swim community needs a pool that has enough lanes for the kids to train well day in and day out and also with enough lanes to have the ability to hold swim meets properly. Thank you!As mentioned above, a 10 lane lap pool would be a big advantage for our swim community. Also, please consider depth of pool to be no shallower than 5 feet in any area of the pool. Thanks!

10/18/2017 17:33:24Hi
My interest is in the pool. Not much pool space for lap swimmers these days. Also, competitive swimming. Broomfield HS, or the Barracudas club swim for example. They use this pool for practices and meets. So I LOVE the 10 lane pool at 25 yards I think you have. Thank you!
When you chose a "design" please keep in mind the sport of swim:

-Lap swim: There are many of us that swim for exercise. You currently have very limited available lanes and times for such swimmers. More open lanes is SO APPRECIATED! (You also have seniors that would love the separate warm water pool to have water classes and/or "float" in lanes during "lap swim" times). The availability for all swimmer types, and, to host comfortably many swimmers at a time, is a plus and a hopeful goal of yours!

-Sport swim: . You have competitive teams looking to fill your pool area with swim meets. That will take much parking, so the parking lot should be able to host many cars. Also, space around the deck of the pool for both swimmers and spectators! Some teams have 100 or more swimmers. Could the sides of your pool hold that many swimmers as they wait for their race? Spectators....the parents that would come watch these swim meets. Could you have space for bleachers? Maybe even (like VMAC pool) seating that is raised above the level of the pool. Space for a kitchen and concessions to help raise money by selling food at meets.

(I also am a driver for the Meals on Wheels program. Please keep in mind a good size kitchen for the staff there, and perhaps a bigger driveway for Meals on Wheels drivers to pull in and load the meals each day. Thank you!)

10/18/2017 18:07:09Absolutely love the 8 lane cold pool! There is such a demand for competitive pool space in Broomfield and this would help to meet that need! This would be great for lessons, club, masters and High School swimming! Love the 2000SF fitness room!Again, competitive pool space is great. It is hard to tell through this drawing if it is the same size as in Design 3. The more pool space the better! Love the additional fitness studio and lap track around gym! Again, LOVE that each of these designs has 10,300 sq feet of competitive pool!
16
10/18/2017 21:23:58I love this design 4 with exterior community plaza than design 5.

10/19/2017 9:02:51Seems like there is very little seating for spectators at the Cold poolSeems like a 3rd level may be expensiveI like that the locker room is between the Gym and the poolI like that the locker room is between the Gym and the pool
19
10/19/2017 9:23:02This is my least favorite design. I do not like that the fitness areas and gym are 2 levels away from the locker room. No crazy about the idea of 4 levels.I like this design the best. I think the use of space is very smart and efficient. I like that the outdoor play area is at the front of the facility. It seems safer because if people were lurking they would be noticed by more people as they come and go. If the "exterior community plaza" is like a courtyard that opens more usable space for events during the nice weather months and more natural light to the building. I love that the pool has 8 lanes and spectator seating! This is so needed in our community. I would even like to see the spectator area expanded if possible. I like that the fitness area is off on its own a little bit as I personally do not like working out in high traffic areas as it is positioned in design 5. I am really excited about this version! Most efficient and thoughtful use of space of the 3 designs. This design seems more cramped and crowded than #4.

10/19/2017 14:07:40We are a family of swimmers, and we are also new residents of Broomfield. I am thrilled to see a new pool going in, and I strongly advocate for a competitive pool -- as many lanes as we can get, adequate pool deck space, and good seating for fans and parents. Designs 4 and 5 appear to include more seating and more pool deck space than Design 3, so I am inclined to support those designs (assuming the drawings presented are accurate in representing those differences).
As a person new to this process, I want to raise a concern which I am hoping has been addressed. I am the parent of a child who must go unsupervised into the men's locker room to change after swim team. As his mom, this makes me wary for a variety of reasons not the least of which is that he is the youngest in the room by far. I hope the new design includes some family changing rooms where moms and dads can change with or supervise their children of the opposite gender. I would imagine this is a difficult situation for many other families as well -- parents with children with disabilities, adults with caregivers, parents with multiple children, etc. I see the cabanas on the plans, and I hope that is their purpose. But if not, please consider making some family changing areas that are accessible to the pool and other parts of the facility.
24
10/19/2017 15:06:22I love this layout with the separation between athletic facilities/pool and the other meeting rooms and preschool.
25
10/19/2017 15:40:09I like this design.

10/19/2017 17:57:03LOVE the competitive water availability! Design 3 as a whole makes more sense flow-wise where everything is located, especially swim flow for possible/eventual competitive swim meets, etc. It would be nice to have another way into the pool area besides the small door at the end of the hall and through the locker rooms...a door that could be used by parents coming in to watch swim lessons etc. Are there spectator stands available?Like this design as well, just a much larger footprint to get from one end to the other. However, if trying to keep different functions separated to run at the same time? It could be helpful. If the white rectangle with black lines against the far wall of the "Cold Pool" area are spectator stands? That's awesome!! Yes, more please! :) The "Outdoor Community Plaza" might be a close and safe possibility/alternative to hold special concerts, gala events or school dances like Proms? Is there an outdoor entrance to "Childwatch Preschool" areas? If yes, that would be awesome for quick accessibility from the parking lot."Childwatch Preschool" seems too far from the building entrance for a quick drop-and-get-to-class from the parking lot?

10/19/2017 19:44:59Need spectator viewing if pools to host meetsLove the basketball courtsAppears to have the needed seating for swim meets, good option. Is there room in the warm pool for water aerobics if not, the cold pool will just be made into a warm pool and that will make me sad, we need true lap swimming pretty please.
28
10/19/2017 20:11:44The lifeguard office away from the pool doesn’t make much sense. The whole 4 levels is great.I like the track above the basketball rooms.DescentNot a fan
29
10/19/2017 20:59:57I'd like to see senior classrooms on the first floor, and a 2nd entrance for seniors.

10/20/2017 7:52:32Saunas should be added to both the womens and mens locker rooms. There is no public access to a sauna in Broomfield at either recreation center, and it would be a huge public health benefit to add it. Steam rooms in the locker rooms would also be of major benefit. I also would prefer that both a sauna and steam room be gender specific and I think a lot of people also would feel more comfortable with that. If there isn’t a kids play area in addition to the preschool like at the Derda that should be added too. Saunas should be added to both the womens and mens locker rooms. 10/20/2017 8:08:41Definitely either design 4 or 5. Curious what the Community plaza is, as that may sway me to design 4.
32
10/20/2017 14:34:20This design seems better than all previous designs. The functions are well laid out and areas that should be next to each other are. There are some adjustments needed to the natatorium. This will only be done once and it needs to be done right. The warm water pool needs to be wider than 2 and 1/2 lanes. There are large water aerobic classes which are likely to grow larger as the senior population increases. 4 lanes is a minimum. Also the size of the 8 lane pool is fine but there is no room for spectators for swim meets or swim lessons. There needs to be adequate seating. I'm hopeful that you can enlarge the footprint of the natatorium and make it adequate for the needs. Thanks!

10/23/2017 8:25:59Love the community plaza. This version makes the most sense and use of space.
35
10/23/2017 9:49:44At first glance, the cold water pool is missing viewing seating stands that are necessary for lessons and swim meets. no comments - I don't take classes at BCCI like the viewing stands shown in this version for the cold pool. We need a lot of space for parents for swim lessons, swim practice, swim meets. Does this include the view from 2nd floor window? That has been a very nice option when you can't stand the heat from the pool deck.I like the viewing stands shown in this version for the cold pool. 10/23/2017 11:57:28Need some classrooms on 1st floor
Not sure about courts on 3rd level, also too close to fitness room. Kids will wander into this area during events.
Include indoor access to art/wood buildings. How will these areas be monitored by staff? Lounge should also be used by parents while kids participate in activities.
Could there be smaller locker rooms upstairs that are not for swimming? Current locker rooms are covered in water from the pool, not ideal for people who are not swimming.
May need more classroom space.

Looks ok. Could the pool be made into 8 lanes? Are there any diving boards? If they are put in, could they be placed in the warm pool? What are the pool entrances like?
This looks better, except it would be great to have the diving boards in the warm pool. Scuba users would probably also prefer to do deep water work in a warm pool.

The warmer pool has to be the bigest, not the smallest, in fact both has to be warm. Current pool cannot acommodate demand, si why to make it even small? This make no sense to me. Bcc is home of many swimmers and teams, we NEED a BIGGER warm competicion size pool

That’s perfect design. Good enough space as level 2, 3, and 4.
Still like this design. Good space and more organized.
I still like this design. Good space!
I do like this design 3. More organized and good space.

warm pool is too small to accommodate exercise classes, child care should be away from front entrance
I like having 3 levels-a smaller footprint which preserves outdoor space surrounding
2 gyms, a definite necessity, like the fitness layout with the gym
what is the point of the community plaza??
I like the childcare near the fitness/gym/pool, and away from the front entry
This is my favorite layout.

None of them address the need for a real senior center. All I see is one little room.
42
10/24/2017 20:26:37
Is the number of lanes in the cold pool accurate? Because we need more that 7 lanes.
Will all seniors be able to easily access second floor? How many elevators? I
Not a lot of space for exercise equipment
A bigger lap is good. We 8 Lane cold pool is goodLooks goodLooks goodLot of exercise space

like smaller footprint allowed by extra floor; make kitchen 3,500 SF
Like classrooms contiguous on same floor as admin
like gyms on different floor
like track on different floor

This concept is the best design for easy use of the pool, gym and fitness equipment. It also offers indoor and outdoor options which are important in our community.

I would like to suggest that the cold pool have adequate depth for a Water Polo course as that is a growing sport within our community and currently Broomfield does not have a pool that can meet the requirements of this sport.

Don't like the 4 story building. Think it will not fit in with the surrounding buildings. Too tall.
Why do we need so many classrooms. What are they for?
Like this design. Like the way the preschool/childcare is designed.
Glad a walking track is included.
Like this design also, however was the preschool/childcare going to be divided like in concept 4?

700 sf for an ceramics/art room is to small considering we have 2 kilns, 6 pottery wheels, a slap roller, working tables for hand builders and we need a lot of shelving units for pottery pieces to dry. Also we are dealing with raw materials like glazes and clay dust which are a health concern. Maybe a separate room for Glazing with a door to lock should be taking in consideration.
I like the idea of a 2 story building however if the rooms stay big enough so everyone will benefit of a growing community
It would be great if the pottery studio was only going to be used for pottery because we would like to see the program grow by adding more classes like adult evening, a youth group we don’t have yet and maybe more studio time. This would be a great opportunity to have a room dedicated for ceramics only and not share with the woodcarvers, abracadoodle, sunshine committee, wood shop and other programs because of all our equipment in such a small room.

I like that the senior center lounge is not located near the preschool. Does the kitchen really need to be so big in all of the designs. I realize that the kitchen is used for senior meals and meals on wheels, but 3000 or 3500 sq ft? Isn't the current side around 1000 sq ft. Why the need to triple the size.
Is enough seating available in the pool area to accommodate swim meets? Don't really care for the idea of a four floor building. Is there any way to to incorporate Brunner reservoir for water activities like paddle boats, paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. The one thing Broomfield lacks in the recreation area is a lake for water sports.
