PURPOSE: Tests confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear steady rhythm, accepting light contact with the bit. The horse demonstrates greater understanding of the aids and calm acceptance of the bridle; greater emphasis is placed on relaxation, harmony, rideability and pure gaits. The horse is beginning to develop more impulsion and balance.RIDER #6005

Enter working jog

Halt through the walk, salute
Proceed working jog
Straightness; regularity and quality of the jog; willing, smooth transitions in and out of square, straight halt; immobility; willingness.6.56.5nicely straight and square at halt.. horse braced "open" at poll ( ie slightly above the level of contact) / fell off the centerline after the halt..

Continue on the rail, working jog

Turn left, working jog
Balance and bend in the corners and turn; regularity and quality of the jog.6.56.5braced open at the poll, ie topline braced ( to be through the back or use the cocks more correctly horse must give in jaw or poll for the back to 'bascule" , may need to use hocks more actively to take weight to do that..... ie take more elastic active longer jog steps

Circle left 20m, working jog

Develop working lope, left lead
Balance and bend on circle; regularity and quality of the jog; willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the lope.44slightly counter bend at jog circle poll to left .. walked before lope... unfortunately walked before loping so that is a break gait and insufficient :(

Before X
Circle left 20m, working lope

Develop working jog
Balance and bend on circle; regularity and quality of the lope; willing, smooth transition, regularity and quality of the jog.6.56.5quiet but balanced on inside shoulder and poll slightly out . rider use outside seatbone and outside aids more to develop bend.. if you lean in at all the horse will go on inside shoulder rather than bending and turning...

Change rein, free walk

Working walk
Horse willing to freely stretch the neck forward and down; relaxation; swing through the back; ground cover; regularity and quality of the walks; balance and bend in corner; willing, smooth transition.6.5213liked the stretch but looks "slow" needs to look like he is going for the pasture.. eagerly with a lot of energy , overtraining in this moment is highly rewarded so if you can get it.. try for it. he only tracked up

B
Working jog

Turn right, working jog
Willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the jog; balance and bend in turn.6.56.5slightly above the connection ( above thebit), jaw and poll open .. not giving to bridle which means not utilizing back much..... horse has a steady tempo but keep in mind that working jog gets a horse from ranch to ranch.. short tracking in the jog means that he doesn't cover ground.. a lot more up and down steps on a cowgals s back but didn't get where you are going... a more ground covering stride can mean that the horse uses the hocks more to propel himself and horses takes more weight behind.

Circle right 20m, working jog

Develop working lope, right lead
Balance and bend on circle; regularity and quality of the jog; willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the lope.6.56.5nice geometry but tight in the topline/back/ ie still not flexing or giving in jaw or poll

Circle right 20m, working lope

Develop working jog
Balance and bend on circle; regularity and quality of the lope; willing, smooth transition, regularity and quality of the jog.5.55.5nicely ridden geometry ( circle shapes are good) flipped head at lope depart, needs outside rein lower and shorter , with elastic 1/2 halts to ask horse to come rounder on outside rein. hands to be together, lower and in front of the swell of the saddle just over the pad and around the horn.

E - M
Turn right, working jog

Continue on the rail, working jog
Balance and bend in the turn and in corners; regularity and quality of the jog.6.56.5core not always working correctly.. rider losing balance and leaning back onto the back of the seat , legs get forward, and presses down on the back of the saddle when core gets loose... when that happens there is difficulty steering and horse changes tempo as well as the back goes down / rider generally loses balance to the left ( ie tilts left in turns)

3Rider’s Position, Seat, and HandsWell-balanced elastic seat demonstrating vertical, centered alignment, with light independent contact from hand(s)6.56.5left leg and seat bone are looser than the right.. core needs developing for balance, hands to be lower and closer to saddle pad around the swell of the saddle if riding with 2 hands in order to facilitate correct positioning of horse in connection .
30
4Rider’s Correct and Effective Use of the AidsEvidenced by the horse's responsiveness; steady elastic connection cultivating athletic expression. Accuracy - precise placement of the figures and transitions, the effectiveness of the rider's aids determines the accurate fulfillment of the required movements of the tests6.56.5needs rounder, softer more elastic connection with horse.. horse needs to give in jaw and poll to being to use the back and hocks more ie the rider must develop good equitation /position to give the aids and must utilize correct half/halts to get the horse more actively round to the connection with a softer topline
31
5HarmonyThe horse accepts the aids and influence of the rider with attention, relaxation and confidence; and demonstrates a willing partnership between horse and rider resulting in a free flowing performance7214quiet attentive horse.. now needs improved connection for a free flowing correctness in the performance
32
very pretty horse and appears to have potential. I appreciate the quiet attentiveness of this horse and your careful geometry.. Most of the mark down has to do with the horse being open at the poll and jaw, not round to the connection ( in some vernacular.. on the bit... when the jaw and nose is completely forward the horse does not use his back and hocks enough. At this level to get higher scores horse must begin to become rounder to the bridle), frequent transitions and more bending on outside aids generally bring the horses to a rounder connection.. it takes active impulsion and horse cannot move "slowly" and come rounder. it takes power to be round and use the back so experiment with how active/forward this horse has to be go get rounder to the bridle. YOu can do this!!! :):)
