Carriden Session house December 12, 1824 Sederunt: Reverend Mr Fleming, Messrs John Trotter, John Black and Alexander Learmonth, elders. Compeared, sua sponte , Thomas Heaps and acknowledged himself as guilty of the season of fornication with Marion Sharp and requested to be taken on discipline. The session ordered the officer to summon the said Marion Sharp to appear before them this day fortnight being 26 December. Carriden Session House. December 26, 1824. After prayer. Sederent: Reverend Mr Fleming John Trotter, John Black and Alexander Learmonth, elders. Compeared Thomas Heaps & Marion Sharp according to citation and both being confronted with each other acknowledged themselves to have been guilty of the scene of fornication. The session agreed to receive Thomas Heaps on discipline for the offence and appointed him to appear before the congregation for the three following Sabbaths to be rebuked and absolved. The session concluded with prayer.
